Don't want to see the AFC win at all at this point. My picks are Carolina, Arizona, Denver, and New England in that order. If Brady wins I'll probably just give up on football entirely. Manning winning will be hard to bare for awhile but at least Brady's balls won't get all pruned up from everyone licking his sack all offseason after getting his 5th Superbowl win. Plus it'll guarantee we never have to see Manning again because he definitely hangs it up if they win.

Either way I'm rooting for the NFC. Carolina I want there because they have the best chance to beat New England. Arizona will beat Denver, but I think against New England that game could be 50/50.

Ideally, Carolina vs Denver is what I want to see.

You can't quote me on specifically mentioning this current period of play since Griffin has been out and then throw seasonal statistics in my face.

I concede that the Clippers bench have been garbage for the first part of the season before Doc added Aldrich and Prigioni to the mix and benched Smith and Stephenson. I concede that Pierce has been garbage for the first part of the season before he got more playing time. Since those changes, though, I'm pretty sure that bench production and Pierce's production have risen significantly. Which was the whole point of me saying, "Have you seen they way they've been playing lately".

BTW, the Mavs are 4 games back from the Clippers and the Clippers are 2.5 back from OKC.

Why don't you tell me what their numbers have been over, say the last 15-20 games?

Uhhh, their numbers have not changed at all. You know why they went on a hot streak?

Lakers
Jazz
Wizards
Hornets
Pelicans
76ers
Trailblazers
Hornets
Pelicans
Heat

All mediocre teams. A basketball genius such as yourself can surely see that. As I said before, they are a good regular season team, but not championship material.

You're probably right, but I can hope can't I? Anyways, I have the Spurs winning it all this year. The game slows down in the playoffs and Golden State won't be able to jack all of those 3s up uncontested as they do now. Especially against the Spurs. Barring serious injury, it will come down to either the Spurs/Cavs or Warriors/Cavs in the Finals and both the Spurs and Warriors can beat the Cavs.

Clippers have two ongoing problems they've yet to address. Their bench and Doc Rivers, once that's resolved all else is fine. Josh Smith is gone but he made up for Paul Pierce's lack of defense.

Also, although you're right about the Clippers streak being against shit teams, they still did it without Griffin and two of them without Griffin and Jordan. They deserve some credit for that.

Really not much to discuss, he was a 'transitional coach'. Everyone knew Tyronn Lue who came in highly paid would eventually unseat him.

Yea, I kind of seen it coming, but Blatt did a good job. Even though that team was stacked and they had an excellent chance of winning, for them to be 19-20 at this point last year and finish the way they did, he deserves credit and I hope Blatt gets another chance in the NBA.

Their ball movement is consistent until the fourth quarter. Then they switch to ISO ball and the offense stalls out. They've never been able to get a basket to save their souls late in games and that falls straight down on Blatt. This is the right move. He has been out coached this year in every big game.

Anyone coaching a LeBron James team with Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving should already realize that they'll have a small window of time to deliver a championship. But I often see James' huddling with Lue so perhaps this gives substance to the speculation that Blatt and James relationship wasn't the best?

What did you expect from Blatt? He came over from a VERY different basketball league and to throw him in with some of the best head coaches who've had years of experience in the NBA and of course he'll be out coached.

What's so different? The Spurs have basically been running that same European style offense for ages now. Blatt's offense is just a tweaked Princeton offense.

Only thing that concerns me about the Panthers is Thomas Davis broke his arm yesterday. Him and Luke are the soul of that defense and his presence is very much needed. This will either be evenly matched defensively, or Peyton will be on his back a lot.

Greg Olsen is the most consistent guy on offense. Cam can rely on him more than anyone else on that offense.

Deserves to LOSE. I hope the Panthers put his washed up ass into retirement.

Is your last name Simpson too?

Being completely unbiased since I don't have a dog in this fight, I'd pick Carolina without thinking twice. Better offense, and a defense that's statistically almost as good as Denver with the capability of dominating anyone.

Carolina could win this close or a blowout. If Denver is to win, I'd guess it's going to be close.

And win or lose I see Manning retiring days after.

I actually don't see Manning retiring unless he wins. Now, win or lose his days in Denver will be over, but if he loses, I actually think he'll try to play another season. That's why I hope he wins and retires and goes out on top. They couldn't have written a better story to this NFL season and Superbowl. I'm excited.

John Elway style. I just don't see Denver winning. If they're going to, they need to get to Newton like they got to Brady.

But Manning is a shell of himself. Another year and he's just going to be worse. I'm hoping he has enough self respect to know when to step down.

Cousins can be the best center in the NBA when he's focused and actually playing instead of pouting and throwing temper tantrums. The problem, though, is that he pouts and throws temper tantrums to often. I'd take a plethora of other bigs in the NBA before I'd try and deal with Cousins. That's my opinion anyways.

Did anyone else see Golden State bitch slap San Antonio last night? Granted San Antonio were without Duncan, however, Duncan doesn't make as big of difference as he used. He definitely shouldn't have made a 30 point difference. Which is what San Antonio got their ass beat by.

I hate to say it, but it appears that Golden State are championship bound.........again.

Jonathan Simmons play is somewhat of a double-sided sword at the moment. On one hand, having another viable wing player emerge in the rotation was necessary for the Spurs to overcome the loss of Belinelli. On the other hand, it appears his rise is coinciding with the downfall of Danny Green, who used to be a guy you could expect to play the kind of harassing defense Simmons did last night, while also providing premier floor spacing at the two guard spot.

With Green's shot missing and Simmons is developing into a credible slasher, we are starting to see signs that Pop is favoring Simmons to Green at this point. It started with the Cavs game and continued last night when Simmons started the second half and Green returned with the garbage time lineup to start the fourth quarter.

So while Simmons' emergence is fantastic, the downside is that Green seems to be trending in the opposite direction. With the nature of the Spurs' rotation, there is probably only room for one of them to play a critical role in closing time lineups. I was a defensive guy and how Simmons played Curry is exactly how I would've(of course in my younger days lol).

Few things would need to happen.

1. Jets would need to decide to go with Kaep over Fitzmagic or fail to reach an extension with Fitzpatrick. Kaep has more potential so that shouldn't be a problem there.

2. The 49ers asking price can't be too high. At this point in the game Kaep's value is at it's lowest trade wise. A 4th or 5th may get it done.

3. Kaep would need to restructure his existing contract significantly. No way the Jets pay that ludicrous contract.

If number 2 or 3 fail, no one will trade for Kaep and the 49ers will end up having to release him. A new coach won't want a malcontent on his roster even though his style may suit his system. Chip Kelly especially, if you don't buy into the system you're gone.

That all being said, I'm reading the source is not very credible. Manish Mehta is known to report a lot of bullshit. So take this with a huge grain of salt.
