The song that got you into...Ozzy

You can choose a song from his Black Sabbath days if that's what got you into him.

I was in my early teens and bored on summer afternoon. There was nothing on the TV so I was rummaging through my father's CD collection and I came across Blizzard of Ozz. I asked if I could lissten to it and he said yes so I took it to my room and popped it inot my CD player. I don't know was #1 on the Album and it was good but didn't really do anything for me. Crazy Train was #2 and when it started I didn't move. Serioulsy I didn't voluntarily move 1 muscle the entire time the song and when it was over i listened to it a few more times before I listened to the rest of the CD. To this day it is the only song I have rocked out to in Air Guitar and is still my favorite song.

Sam as milenko. My dad had a best of album and we had it on in the car. I heard this and I was hooked.

For me, it was "Get's Me Through"

I loved this song from the first time I heard it. We had only just got Sky TV at the time of this song being released (I think it was as a double A-Side single along with "Dreamer" which was a slow ballad), and I became hooked on watching Kerrang! TV. Obviously I had heard of Ozzy Osbourne and I did already like a couple of Sabbath tracks, "Paranoid" obviously being one of them, but I hadnt heard any of his solo stuff up to this point.

I thought the riff for this song was great and liked how it started off as a slow, piano based entrance but you could tell it was going to kick in with a great riff in a minute. I still really like the song, I don't think its one of Ozzy's best any more now I have heard most of his stuff, but its still a pretty good track.

I also like how he references himself and one of his older songs in:

"I'm not the kind of person you think I am, I'm not the antichrist or the Iron Man"

Definitely "crazy train". I was really glad with Sabbath "war pigs", "paranoid", "heaven & hell" etc.. My brother had an Ozzy's Cd "speak fo the devil" I listen it once and I didn't mind at all. Until the day I start listen to radio and there were this classic songs and then BOOM "ALL ABOARDDDDDDDDDDD HAHAHAHA" and the riff begun. I loved the riff and then all the solos!! Randy Rhodes was a really impressive guitar player. I'm not very fond of Ozzy's solo work, but crazy train showed he could fucking rock!

Oh I hate to admit this, but it was "Perry Mason."

I had never really heard of Ozzy. My older cousin began taking me to open hockey at an outdoor rink and "Perry Mason" was on the radio. I became really interested into him after that...and was hooked.

I started out as a Nu-Metal fan until my best friend at the time started force feeding me Metallica, Slayer, Maiden etc. He gave me Ozzmosis as well and i knew by the end of 'Perry Mason' (opening track for those who've never heard it) that i liked Ozzy. Unfortunately that love didn't last long once his more recent albums started churning out, but it did convince me to check out earlier Sabbath and as a result, i fell in love with tracks like 'Behind The Wall of Sleep' and 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath'.

I have to go with Paranoid. When I was a kid I would play wrestling with my brother and we would use what music we had around the house as our entrance themes. I used Paranoid because it was the one that sounded the most like the Ultimate Warrior. As I got older I would listen to the song and the album just for pure enjoyment.
Black Sabbath and Ozzy are bands that my parents liked, so they got played a lot around my house as a kid. Growing up listening to it I always liked it, but Paranoid was the first Ozzy song the I would search for on my own.

The first time i listened to Ozzy was when i was eleven. I had seen his show but never heard his music, and one day i was with my dad and "Crazy Train" came on the Radio. I liked it, but i did not become a fan until High School when i listened to Ozzy's version of "Hellraiser", which was way better than the Motorhead's version, even though i like them too. I have been hooked ever since.

"Bark At The Moon" was the first song I had ever heard from him, after that I really started to get into him. I had actually heard this song on one of the guitar hero games. I know I found out about it REALLY late, but I was never really that into metal, I was always a rap kind of guy. I would actually say that ozzy is what got me into Metal. After I heard Bark At The Moon, I proceeded to buy more albums from him and got hooked on him. Been listening to him ever since.

Well I liked 'Iron Man' but was more into the actual music than Ozzy's singing, I thought it was ok.

Then I listened to Mr Crowley after someone told me it had a great guitar and by god that song is awesome

I just loved the lyrics (Randy Rhoads' playing also helped)

Can't remember the date but i remember the two songs that got me into Ozzy.
First song was 'Crazy Train' followed by 'Mr Crowley' (Also props to Randy!). Amazing, loved them both still consider them both as my top Ozzy hits.

Another early Ozzy song I got into was "Bark At The Moon", which I heard on V Rock on GTA Vice City. Man that station was awesome! I much prefer Ozzy's earlier stuff than most of the stuff he is releasing now. His last 2 albums have been a big let down for me.
