I guess I am easy to please because I've actually enjoyed the latter Simpsons eps more than the early ones. And I grew up on it..

So, what is everyone's most memorable Simpsons moment? Mine is when Homer's mom came back after walking out on him and his dad; and Homer dropped her off in the desert and he stayed there the whole night staring at the sky. Poor Homie.


And boys, South Park and Family Guy are shit. "Oh look at us! We can be stupid, crude and offensive for the fuck of it!"

South Park has gotten way to, oh what's the word I'm looking for, preachy I guess, & try to hard to in the effort to make fun of everything under the sun, Simpsons died off for most people like 10 yrs. ago, Family Guy has been shit due to lazy writing since it came back. Futurama is still my favorite of the animated shows, even though I haven't seen a single one of the new episodes since Comedy Central brought it back.

I was still in High School the last time this show was any good. Seriously, I have gone to only watching the Halloween specials every year and even those were terrible. Too preachy on their agenda, 90's Simpsons is all I want to see and those are never aired anymore...At least not in my area.

Why?

Why take something that's been shitty for a number of years, and extend it? Wouldn't that ruin it's "legacy"?

Why not go with quality over quantity?

This was pretty much my argument as to why 'Taker could retire without any more WM matches. (Though his first match with HBK wasn't shitty)

Onto the topic at hand, it's not as sad news as it would have been if they had been cancelled in the early years. As others have said, 1-9 was the golden age for Simpsons and they are all readily available on DVD so it's all good. I wonder if they will end it with a second movie?

I still love The Simpsons! It would break my heart to see a childhood staple not come back for another season. =(

They have already been on the air over 20 years. There isn't anything else to prove. The sad thing is Seth Macfarlane will probably make another mediocre show to fill in it's place.

I hope you're talking about The Cleveland Show and not American Dad.

The Simpsons was great back in the day, when i started high school i started watching jackass, south park and wrestling. I have stuck to these ever since, and never went back looking for new Simpsons episodes.

The film sucked uranus big time. Stuff like the simpsons should have bowed out on a high note, but it is just going to run into the ground like an old renault clio 51 plate.

You know what? Fuck all you guys I still love The Simpsons. The show many not be as funny as it use to be but at least after I watch an episode, I can walk away with a smile of my face.

My favorite moment in The Simpsons is during the 6th Treehouse of Horror during the "Time and Punishment" segment when Homer goes back in time. I just loved that segment and the advise grandpa gave homer on not to touch anything and then at the very end he goes back one last time with a bat or club..or something. "don't touch anything?!? I'll touch whatever I feel like!! Homer then proceeds to lay waste to everything in sight in a fit of rage. I don't know, I was like 5 or 6 when I first saw that and I remember almost pissing myself laughing so hard. Ah, so many good moments, hard to pick just one.

The Simpsons has not been great in a while but that is not their fault. There is only so much you can do until you run out of ideas. They still have funny moments in each episode. I would be sad to see it go, but when they have a whole episode about Chalmers, it's time to go.
