Best angle of all: retirement
So, I made the unfortunate decision to watch Destination X live. It wasn't the worst show I've ever seen, but it did highlight to me a lot of what TNA is doing wrong.
The moment I got the most heated was Scott Hall's promo before their match. Here we are, after months of seeing Hall the drunken looking hobo in sweats and unshaven. Hall the bumfighter. Even as recent as the last impact, he was out looking like crap. Did totally nothing to make anyone want to pay to see him fight.
And here he is! All old school, dripping blood vest with Kliq panties. Hair greased up. WHO THE HELL DOES SCOTT HALL THINK HE IS TO START LOOKING GOOD NOW?! Granted, that beer gut was all over the place, but he looked SOOOOOOOO much better than I've ever seen him in years. Even his promos were a bit better then they had been recently. WHO THE HELL GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO NOT DISAPPOINT ME?!
I mean, he was running at 60% or so all night, but that was all he needed to do. Non-wrestling fan friends over at the house recognized "Razor Ramon" right away (that's how long since they had ever seen wrestling!) and were surprised that he didn't look like utter crap (like Nash, and Hogan, and Flair). He kept his in ring work short but sweet. I don't think we'd ever see a weekly match from him, but he showed that he could handle a high placed PPV match pretty well (with others, mind you).
IF TNA HAD SHOWED PEOPLE THAT THIS SCOTT HALL WAS BACK, I'm sure they would have had a few more buys than they got.
Yeah, I'm still a little mad about this.
