I simply cant believe there isnt a thread on this?

Former WWE talent Dwayne Johnson (a/k/a The Rock) has started a weekly feature on his official Facebook page where he'll choose fans' questions once per week to answer in depth.

When asked why he decided to leave WWE and if he's ever coming back, he bluntly states that he will never wrestle again. He does, however, note that he will appear for WWE when the timing is right.

His complete response reads:

"...to "the Rock's millions and millions"...who will forever be my family.. ..my honest and direct answer to you is this: I left the WWE because I had succeeded in accomplishing every goal I set to achieve. ...I've never done this before, but I will now because I feel it's important you know..let me share with you the goals I set for myself in the WWE so you can have a better understanding and perspective.. - become the youngest WWE World Champion - help set box office and attendance records in every arena in the country - help set PPV buy rate records ..the final two and my most important goals to achieve in wrestling: - become the most entertaining and electrifying performer the WWE had ever seen or will ever see again - take the brass ring of the WWE that Vince McMahon had faithfully allowed me to earn and take it places it had never gone before...to trailblaze...to break new ground...to achieve unprecedented greatness for not only for myself and the fans to enjoy...but for the business of professional wrestling itself and the WWE... A business and company that is in my blood and that I will love forever. ...I achieved these goals in the WWE at 30 years old and decided then to HUMBLY and QUIETLY step away and retire. ..and set my sights on another goal...a childhood dream...Hollywood. ..will I ever come back to the WWE? of course I will..not a match though, but in a capacity that would allow me to do so much more.. I LOVE that company and the fans...without the two I would not be standing where I am today... Vince and myself stay very closely connected and when the opportunity is right - which will be alot sooner than you think - we will do something electrifying and historic for the fans...he and I were toying with the idea of a special show called "ROCK RAW"... sounds like a perfect title for me to come back and SLAP THE LIPS OFF THOSE JABRONIS and LAYETH THE SMACKETH DOWN ON AAAAALLLLL THEIR CANDY ASSES!!! sorry...got carried away..I'll save that one of a kind electricity for Rock Raw.. ...it is important to me to say this from my heart - to the incredibly loyal "..The Rock's Millions and Millions..." and the entire WWE UNIVERSE...I am forever humbled and grateful to you for allowing me the HONOR to entertain you over the years...you have my word I will continue to entertain you in ways like no one else...it's only just the beginning... I dream big...and we've achieved those dreams together because you never left my side..I love you for that and thank you... I am Dwayne Johnson...and I will also always be The Rock."

I'm curious to see what Vince and the Rock have in store for us. Now that he's told us about "the rock raw" idea, I doubt they'll use it. I'd like to see something where the Rock does a promo with the anonymous GM. Can you imagine: Who are you? And I quote.... I'm the anonymous... It doesn't matter who you are!

What could they possibly do that would be really unique?

Maybe instead of having The Rock's RAW... Allow the Rock to design and a pick all the matches for a PPV or something. The People's PPV.

I could see something like that.

I'm very glad to see that the Rock is in the works with something with Vince. The guy is one of the very best, and by far the best on the mic. For me I'd like it to be him who's the gm. See this way he wouldn't have to be there all the time, but he could still inforce his power with Cole. Though I don't know if he'd do that. But still I think a Raw, or PPV with him involved would be excellent.

Well quite honestly he's been saying that he and Vince have been in collaboration about this show for a long time. You know he's coming back for one night down the road the question is when? Maybe at WM? Maybe the Raw following WM? We shall see. I can't wait for him to show up though.

Well he did say "sooner than you think" so I'm thinking it could be before Wrestlemania or right after, like you mentioned.

Either way, I expect the announcement to be made ahead of time. In other words, they won't just surprise us and have the Rock show up on RAW un-announced or unhyped. We will know about it.

When The Rock turns up un-announced you dont hear a pop quite like it. Some of the pops he got in 2003 and 2004 were simply amazing. They are readily available on youtube.

Be a shame if that didnt happen, but if its a show dedicated to him then you have to hype it up. A Rock return would be the biggest ratings in some years.

My only flaw with "Rock Raw" is that I want The Rocks return to be unexpected. I know if it is advertised that he will return ratings will sky rocket, but I just want out of no where we hear "If you smell...." and the crowd erupts!

All I know is, when he comes back it's going to be one of the biggest pop we've seen in a long time. I actually hope they don't over promote this. I'd love to see an element of surprise in this one considering we've been waiting so long.

In leui of this, I think I'm gonna avoid this site for the next few months. If it IS going to be a surprise and this site spoils it in any way beforehand, I'll flip out. :p

I mean really, how can I avoid clicking things like "Major Star experted to return to Raw Tonight!"? I'm only human.

So the Rock accomplished everything he needed to at a young age. By 30 he did everything he wanted to do. That is because he was given too much too soon and didn't pay his dues. He just left WWE because he was too big for it. So WWE pushes young talent all the time and gives them titles without paying their dues. Wrestlers will be retiring by 33 and wrestling fans will be robbed of having any long term favourites the way titles are just thrown around.

I love the Rock but its this WWE strategy of giving young guys everything too fast which is making wrestling less entertaining and leaving main event wrestlers lacking lots of personality. A lot of you here disagree but most people in the real world who aren't obsessed internet freaks who know what personality is would agree with me.

The Rock character had more personality in his pinkie than any of the the WWE roster in the last 10 years other than maybe Stone Cold.

Personality and Charisma is what got The Rock over.

I somewhat agree with you but it seems like everyone, especially younger fans, are all about pushing the young stars these days, rather than gradual pushes or making guys earn their stripes.

I am loving the PEOPLES PAY-PER-VIEW idea. I'd pay big money to watch that. Let the Rock run his own pay-per-view, he could be in charge pick all the matches etc. That's be cool. Hype it for weeks.
They need the Rock to get the Uso's over. The Uso's wont get over without him. But would get over huge with a rub from him.

Long time overdue rocky my friend ....

But ..

this is what i needed.... and i thank u ..

As a huge rock mark in the day i was so disapointed when he left for good. And since he did, he really has never said anything like this. It would seem to many as a so called "slap in the face" , and many are right to take it that way. For a long time rocky has swerved around the idea of a return but never really got to it. But this statement .. this is what i needed. It totally elviates me of the feeling that i hated him. I always would say " he turned his back, he no good. Not even a thank you!" And i kno some would argue that he appeared on raw and such, but the times he did were just to promote his movie. Nothing about layin the smacketh down. And really, i felt like rocky was addressing me prrsonally, as we all shud take his msg. Him saying we are family, and expresing all that he did was needed of him and it was definitly what i needed to respect this man again. Glad that he finally came around after so long and explained his shit in detail. I can understand him acomplishing all he wanted to but there was still wayy more rock to tap into when he left. But it is his lifes road and we cant hate. But i did. For a longgg time, and it feels good to like him again. I doubt he will ever wrestle again but if he does i wil mark for sure. People have to understand that even though this buisness is in his blood, its not what he wants to do, and hasnt been for awhile and i dont think he will give up all he has made for himself in hollywood. But i wonder how much money he pulled in for his role in "be cool" ... lmao .. classic shit right there ... even more classic is his him going into rock form in the msg .. haha.

It is good to see that he is in the works on something. But as many have said, this has been an ongoing thing. I just wana let u ppl kno not to get ur damn hopes up, because he is pretty adimant about not lacing em up again. His personality is good enough and better than most of the mid card talent he wud be replacing on the air. I mean really, id rather see rock talk than watch an abomination of a tag match or teddy jr. Walking around aimlessly .... rock would surley be held down a little by the rating but thats easily avoidable seeing as its a little more leniant than most assume. U can get away with alot on a pg rating .. but the pie eatin n strudel strudeling wont fly i wudnt think. But my glass is up in a toast to seeing rocky again on wwe tv.

my thoughts exactly! if that were to happen the crowd would go ape shit! hahaha oh how i wish he was back! even if he didnt wrestle i would love for that character to be around mixing it up with everyone. i miss the days of the great one and love to talk about how he was mos def the best on the mic and how people try so hard and fail to be like him. a rock raw would be great but it have to be so random that we never thought it would happen! the element of surprise is key
!

So we have Steve Austin coming back to do 'Tough Enough'.
AND The Rock coming back, to do who knows what.

ANDDD Booker T returns.
ANDDD Kevin Nash returns.

And possibly Sting?
I'm fuckin looking forward to the upcoming WWE :worship:

I dont care if I see Rock wrestle I just wanna see rock. The best part about him was his promos. He wasnt the worlds greatest wrestler but an amazing personality. If he comes back on air but doesnt wrestle I'll still tune in. Hes funny as hell.

Miz: Because I'm the mizzzzzzzzzz and I'm aweee

If you smeelll.. What the Rock is cooking

Rock: Who in the blue hell are you?

Miz: I'm the Miz and I'mm

Rock: It doesn't matter who you are Jabroni

Personally.. I would love to see the Rock just guest host one night of RAW and calling it the Rock's Show.. He would give a good image to some other young superstars and really who wouldn't like to see him just stick something straight up Miz's as*.. Lol... :p

Whenever you hear about the Rock planning on returning to the WWE it always has that, "Yeah, I'll come back when a spot opens up on my calendar... maybe next April," feeling about it. He never sets a date, he never reveals in what capacity he'll come back, he never even says if it'll be a one time thing or as a recurring role. Face it, The Rock is just trying to keep the door open in case his acting career falls apart and he needs a job. He has no intention on coming back anytime soon. Sorry kids, I know it's a cynical view, but it's the truth.

So, you are saying that the WWE shouldnt have capitalised on The Rock's ridiculous levels of talent, charisma etc and not pushed him as hard as they did until he had "paid his dues" in the mid-card for years. Give me a break.

I agree that sometimes talent IS pushed too fast, and that when they reach the top they havent developed the required levels of mic skills etc to make the most of their position....but The Rock was a very special case.

After just 2 or 3 years in the business he was better than most wrestlers ever are, and WWE did the right thing in pushing him to the moon. He did everything asked of him and more, never let anyone down and exceeded all expectations. The Rock was a phenomenon that would have been wasted had he been stuck lower down the card just because he hadnt been a professional wrestler long enough.

Thats pretty understandable though. Movies first, Wrestling second. He has his career to think about!!! He cant be turning down movie roles because WWE fans want him to do a one off Raw! Rock has said many a time it has to be right. It has to be right for WWE aswell. They cant just have him randomly turn up one night and throw him into storylines. It wouldnt work aswell if it is planned. Who knows, maybe Rock wants to make more than just a one off appearence.

Also, The Rock doesnt need to keep the door open on anything. He could turn his back on WWE and Vince for the next 10 years, even refuse to speak to them but there would always be a job for The Rock if he wanted it. They found one for Bret Hart after 13 years didnt they? They found one for Bischoff and Hogan aswell.

Rock will return in 2011 at some point. Thats good enough for me.

Speculation about the Rock's return come at least 5 times a year, but all his statements regarding a potential return are extremely vague, this one being no exception. He set no date or timeline for his 'return', and I wouldn't be suprised if we don't see The Rock in a WWE ring ever again. He's an actor now, people have to get that in their heads; there's nothing WWE can offer him anymore and he knows that.

I hope no one is preparing or anticipating a Rock return, it will just lead to disappoitment.

God, I sound like a bitter 5 year old.

I really like how Rock answered the question. Some people need to chill out....If a wrestler decides they don't want to wrestle anymore at a young age then it's their right to do just that. They're human and can make their own decisions. Everyone is complaining 'this is what happens when young wrestlers get pushed and don't pay dues.' You guys are out of your mind.
