The Remarkable 80's Bar and Grill

Classic from Sierra. SPACE QUEST 3 , although a pretty short adventure, had so much value in every scene that it made up for that obvious shortcoming. It had a significant graphical upgrade and level design. New music and zonky sound effects. Space Quest 3 starts out very impressive....

Where am I ? Whispered aloud, first voice sound in the series. It was a cool moment for me for that reason. Roger Wilco has stared his adventure inside a junk freighter that has a crashed TIE Fighter and an assortment of cameo props. Once you figure out how to blast out of there you get to explore a few planets and characters. Not as vast as other games but fun enough anyway.

One of my favorite alien shopkeepers.

Check out space McDonalds with The Enterprise just leaving. Then there was a Termanater bounty hunter, a rockem sockem giant robot fight and other stuff for a tongue in cheek ending that fits with everyting else.

Bonus to the previous thread keeping with the Space Quest theme. I really, really hated Space Quest 4. It simply did not have the overall charm of the previous three games. Adding to that was the horrible amount of hard disks needed to install the game and juggling them constantly while playing it. Walk Roger Wilco off screen to load a new screen ? Insert disk 3......insert disk 2.....

Leaving the area to explore another planet ?

Insert disk 3.....insert disk 2.......insert disk 3.....insert disk 1.....insert disk 6 then 7 and 15 at the same time while rewriting disk 9.....insert disk 21 backwards and half save then insert disk 5.

Awwww shit I forgot something on the previous planet.....

What is the best movie from 1980 ?

First candidate ...

Superman II -

Before The Avengers, Dark Knight, Spiderman and all these great superhero movies that come out every year nowadays...there was Superman II. To me, Superman II was the undisputed superhero movie champion right up until Iron-man came out.

Instead of dealing with a real estate plot from Lex Luthor, Supes has to deal with three super villains from space (with a side order of Lex ) . He has all kinds of trouble with them, including eating a thrown bus full of people. Superman also picks the worst time to sacrifice his super powers so he could bang Louis Lane without killing her. This leads to the most frustrating thing I watched as a kid on the movie screen. Superman gets beat up by a normal guy in a diner! Fuck no! Say it ain't so Supes! Anyway, everything works out in a satisfying way and I remember people in the theatre laughing and cheering at the end of the movie.

Second candidate ....and probably my personal winner...

Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back.

Your probably saying,"Hello, Raging Bull? Blues Brothers? Come on Jeff! ".

I say screw that. I've watched Empire Strikes Back a hundred times more than any other movie in my life. There's nothing that beats the continuing story of the moisture farmer who must battle the evil Imperial Empire led by Darth Vader. Vader himself one of the most recognizable and iconic movie villains in history. You have lasers, a princess, a swashbuckling smuggler and his giant dog like alien sidekick, comedic robot friends, laser swords, space ships, asteroids and creatures all sizes and colors all sewn together with an incredible instrumental music score. A surprise climax that stands as one of the most shocking surprises in the history of film, it's been parodied, duplicated and talked about hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of times in television, magazines, internet and other movies.

Never tell me the odds!

Third and final candidate .....

The Shining -

Jack Nicholson can play crazy like no other person. There's this -tic- about the man that makes you wonder if he gets a bit whacko in real life situations.

The Shining is about an author working on his next book, he takes an opportunity to watch over The Overlook Hotel with his family over the winter. The Overlook is not as empty as the family hoped. The result is a fun horror movie that is very quotable.

Stephen King (allegedly) didn't like how the movie didn't flesh out with the book so he made his own T.V movie version of The Shining that was laughably bad. Something happened every three minutes taking away any and every building tension.

Working as a conveyancer while trying to find a proper job in the mathematical field or copping out and doing an honours degree in statistics while playing trophy boyfriend to my girlfriend who works as a weather girl and part time model. I'd be a very good house husband.

I meant -Real life- M not the M that lives in your mind.

My worst job was stocking shelves overnight at Zellers during Christmas. They put a damn CD on over the intercom overnight with Christmas music that looped over and over again. Plus nothing was labeled right so it was like painting by numbers, but only letters are on the page.

I'm doing my Master degree in Engineering whilst working as an Assistant Professor for the first year Under Graduate students. Once my tenure as Assistant Professor is over, hopefully within the next 6 months, I would've finished my Master degree as well. Then I'll move back to England or hopefully England to do my PhD and start my Research career.

PS. I'm not a nerd. Nerd doesn't do raps, arts, singing, cricket and much more than that ;)

Buried under 40 cms of snow overnight. All my computer Xbox One and files are at my mother's house. The only thing I'll be able to do is rip out an RP later.

Go on a non-spam posting spree. That's a good way to kill time. As for the weather, this is why I won't move from Texas. I detest snow and ice with a burning hatred. (Pun intended)

Thanks for volunteering to look at my RP (at least you got back to me).

I checked that thing for formatting errors a dozen times and didn't catch those spelling errors. And I love the idea you gave me. I did add it in at the end just a bit different.

No probs, I'm rooting for a Mancini and M to tear up Gold Rush.

Put all the moves in on the WZCW CAW in WWE2K16 , now I'm watching Ascension and Meltdown played out by the C.P.U. S.H.I.T defeated Noah Ryder in a classic to start it out.
