I could see him getting close to 2000 combined yards if you take into account his amount of receiving yards. He had to be pretty damn close to that last year, if not more. If the Raves stay committed to the run he very well could do the deed.
Speaking of 2000 yards, I see a down year from Chris Johnson. If history repeats itself, he should have a down year. Over the course of the past couple years the league leader in carries saw a down year the following.
2008: Michael Turner (2009 stats: 871 yds)
2007: Clinton Portis (2008 stats: 1487 yds)
2006: Larry Johnson (2007 stats: 559 yds)
2005: Shaun Alexander (2006 stats: 896 yds)
2004: Curtis Martin (2005 stats: 735 yds)
2003: Ricky Williams (2004 stats: Retired)
2002: Ricky Williams (2003 stats: 1372 yds) (Almost 500 yard difference from 02)
2001: Stephen Davis (2002 stats: 820 yds)
2000: Eddie George (2001 stats: 939 yds)
There you have this decades worth of league leaders in carries. Only two ended up getting over 1,000 yards and only Portis improved his yard total the next season. I know it is nitpicky, but it seems as if it is a trend. We shall see.
