The Online Late at Night Thread

I was working on a pretty awesome thread about who would have to be elevated to take the now vacated #4 face spot on the Raw roster. Then I remembered Big Show and shut it down. Remembering Big Show, like always, stung like a motherfucker.

For a second I thought maybe DBD would be getting elevated or Kofi/Gabriel would come over from SmackDown and make a splash. Fuck, even the doomsday scenario of Triple H returning full time would be preferable to whatever dull invitation to change the channel Big Show is going to bestow on me in the coming months.

It's a formality so that Bam Neely can finally stand on his own rather than flounder in Del Rio's shadow. About time.

Bam Neely was the Inception of wrestling bodyguards. He was the guy standing behind Chavo Guerrero who was a henchman for Edge who was a heatless male proxy for Vickie Guerrero.

Dude, Bam Neely and Brodus Clay look almost nothing alike, they're just both really ugly.

And I think Daniel Bryan goes to Smackdown where he becomes visible, possibly as a top level heel. I also think Sheamus goes over there and becomes the top heel for the company. That's right, Smackdown is getting their top heel in the suplemental draft.

Who the fuck is Orton gonna feud with over there?

Rhodes?

Personally, I want to see Rey feud with Sheamus. But if Sheamus goes to Smackdown, wouldn't it be best if Kofi went to Raw?

Hmmm, I do like the idea of an eventual Orton/Rhodes feud, but Cody needs to heat up more as a heel before he gets destroyed by Orton. Look at Orton's feud with Punk, he doesn't lose. Cody needs wins at this point in his career.

Why should Kofi got to RAW if Sheamus comes to Smackdown? I personally think a Kofi/Sheamus feud would be awesome.

Wins are overrated. Losing efforts in top shelf feuds do more than midcard wins for the sake of wins.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck...... *leaves the forums slamming the door behind him.*

Assholes. :( I'll be back after I watched Raw. I figured I could avoid the spoilers in threads that wasn't marked spoiler...

I disagree with that. If you get one or two losses in close matches to big guys (like Cena and Ziggler), then yes, that does more for you, but exchanging wins with Rey Mysterio is better for Rhodes than getting RKO'd on a weekly basis by Orton. Ask CM Punk, he used to be a credible leader of a credible stable, now they're little more than a disorganized joke.

I'm sure there are other ways to keep Orton busy until Rhodes gets a little bigger. Mcintyre, Zeke, etc.

Because I'm ******ed and I forgot that Barrett is the IC Champ now. I was trying to say that they shouldn't have both mid card champs on the same brand.

Good point. Orton is hot enough that he'll make any feud he's in worth watching for most fans.

I had a sneaking suspicion that's what happened, but I didn't want to assume. Something tells me Barrett drops the title this Friday on Smackdown to someone who is leaving for RAW, thus furthering the break up of The Corre.

Otunga, Ryan, and Hennig don't become less of a disorganized joke because Punk beats Orton. They're disorganized because the New Nexus is an inherently poor idea that needs to be killed off.

As for Rhodes, he's closer to that Ziggler level where exposure with the top guys will do a lot for him. No doubt about it for me. At times, you gotta work with the guys who carry the real heat to get some of it. Rhodes isn't gonna generate any of that R-Truth magic on his own.

Probably true, but Punk would gain some credibility, and that's what important. He went from being the #2 heel on RAW to being a distant third behind Miz and Michael Cole, and now possibly fourth with Del Rio coming over even though Punk is much more talented than ADR.

Also, you forgot about Harris, but that's okay, so did his parents... on his birthday.

I disagree, I thought Rhodes cut an amazing promo two weeks ago on Smackdown. You're right, he's not so good that he'll be able to get himself over, but I think you give him a little more time to develop before he has any contact with Orton. I say he's nearing that Ziggler level, but he's not quite there yet.

Also, Coco, you were talking about Show being the #4 face. I'm assuming 2 and 3 are Mysterio and Morrison, but what order are they in? Rey 2, JoMo 3? Or vice versa?

Once again, Punk's place in the pecking order has nothing to do with whether or not he picks up these wins and gains "credibility." The pecking order is based on upper management's whims. Punk is not a priority and is placed on the pecking order accordingly. But if the WWE were to decide they'd establish Punk as the top heel on the pecking order on next week's show, they could do so very smoothly without bothering to build him up with any wins. Such is the way that these things work. The only people who notice Ws and Ls in wrestling are us, the smarkity smarks. The only time casuals care is if they point big neon lights at it on television like they did with Sheamus a few months back.

In my ideal world, wins and losses matter and all matches have consequences. But we don't live in my ideal world. I've accepted that and moved on.
