If you're talking about animated films in general (non Disney) Grave of the Fireflies destroys The Lion King, and its not even close

The Legend of Sleepyhollow is actually pretty accurate.

There are non-Disney works that can probably trump Lion King. Was it really that good? I can't remember.

Grave of the Fireflies? Hell yes. The film is directly comparable to Schinder's List and in some ways even surpasses it, there's no way the Lion King could compete with something like that.

No, I was wondering if Lion King was really that great. Not to sound like a weabo, but there are some really good anime style films(Akira?, Princess Mononoke?, Spirited Away?). I don't know where they would rate them though.

I think the Lion King is a tad bit overrated, its a good film, but so were all the other Disney movie's that were released in the 70's 80's 90's, in fact Disney only in the past 5 years have began to produce the really watered down stuff
