I'm a little surprised no one's posted a thread on this yet, so I guess I have the honors.

The upcoming sequel mini-series to Avatar: The Last Airbender (Legend of Aang, to some), set to premier sometime next year. A quick synopsis:
What about you? Looking forward to it? Skeptical, perhaps?
As a massive fan of the original series, I can hardly wait for this (my sig says so). It only being a mini-series is quite a letdown, but maybe if the show does well enough it'll get more episodes (I can dream, right?). I love the direction they're going in, analyzing the relationship between benders and non-benders, something the original didn't much get into. The fact that Mike and Bryan are writing every episode means it should be quality all the way through (so nothing like "The Great Divide" should pop up here), and from interviews I've read, they seem excited about making this show, and making sure it's great. The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra (originally Avatar: Legend of Korra) is an upcoming American television series set in the Avatar universe as a spin-off of Avatar: The Last Airbender. It is expected to air on Nickelodeon in mid-2012. The series is currently under production, and is expected to run for 26 episodes. The co-creators of the original series, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, will personally write all of the episodes to allow for a tighter storyline. The new series will take place 70 years after the end of the Avatar: The Last Airbender story arc, with all-new characters and settings. The protagonist of the new series, Korra, the next Avatar after Aang, is a hot-headed and rebellious young woman from the Southern Water Tribe who is "ready to take on the world". The series plans to follow Korra as she faces an anti-bender revolt while mastering the art of Airbending from Aang and Katara's son, Tenzin.
