Breaking News: Criminal Charges Brought Against Jerry Lawler

Criminal charges were officially brought against RAW color commentator Jerry “The King” Lawler early this morning. Apparently last Friday at a Sam’s Town Memphis Pro Wrestling show Lawler punched “The Big Cheese” Sal Corrente more than once and then yelled, “You stupid mother f**ker, don't you ever hit a fan.”

Lawler had believed that Sal had punched a fan. Eyewitnesses reported that this did not actually happen; that Lawler was wrong.

A court date has been set for August 1, 2007, but only if papers are served to Lawler before that date. It is expected that Mississippi authorities will serve these papers at the July 20th show when Lawler is scheduled to wrestle next.

Oh King, why are you so constantly in trouble? If you get fired and we have to sit through Todd fucking Grisham on RAW, we'll never forgive you big guy.

well he must have been so sad that vince went boom that he had to go off and kick the crap out of someone. He will get a fine or some community service sor somthing like that and it will be back to broadcasting on monday nights. If you have to replace him though i suggest we put the coach back on the announce table.

It depends on wher he was hitting the guy. I mean if he kept hitting the arm then it should be fine. He also apparently was misinformed when it came to whether the guy hit a fan. But I don't expect much to come from this as it can be attributed to a misunderstanding, it does however depend on the placing of the punches.

Wow, was that an overreaction from Lawler and a half. Yes, the thought that if Lawler gets into serious trouble (which I doubt he will) we will be 'treated' to Todd Grisham on commentary, is a scary one, I don't think that Lawler will be punished too severely. It was uncalled for as it turned out, and I'd like to hear how he misinterpreted what 'the big cheese' did to the fan.

How much he actually did will play a factor, but it doesn't sound too serious to me, and I'm sure that Lawler, being the class act that he is, would have apologised already and will be hoping to get over the incident. But jeez, it really was a bit of an overreaction to say the least, and he's lucky it's not even more serious.

I never realized he was such an angry man.
I'm not a huge fan of the king,
but I definatly don't want to listen to Todd Grisham anymore then I have to.
I wonder why he thought this man hit a fan since it didn't happen?
