Phantasio was worse. Again, Glacier actually served some purpose as WCW was trying to milk off the popularity of Mortal Combat. I'm not exactly sure what the point of Phantasio was. Thank god he didn't last long because that entire gimmick was a train wreck.

I actually felt Glacier was kind of a cool concept. Yes it wasn't wasn't over to the point where it needed to be drug out for song, but I enjoyed the move set/entrance/appearance.

Phantasio is just another victim of 94-95 WWF Bookings.. He was just one of many superstars on the WWF wrestler at this time that need to be added to this list.

Examples beings Hakushi, Duke The Dumpster, Kama the "Supreme Fighting Machine," Waylon Mercy, and so many more to mention. Arguably and IMO the worst two years of the WWF...

Given an actual match Glacier would win. However, this is a worst gimmick tourney. Phantasio wins after swiping Glacier's nice blue and white boxers!

Phantasio is easily one of the worst gimmicks of all time. I mean, the guy won by magic. Strangely it seems like a gimmick that would work today. Both guys were decent wrestlers though. At least the Glacier stuff led to the debuts of Wrath and Mortis who later became pretty good hands for WCW.

This one isn't even a fair fight. Phantasio wins, without question, hands down, and all that. Glacier actually didn't bother me. Granted, when he debuted.. I was younger and a total Mortal Kombat nerd at the time. Now, was it the greatest gimmick ever? No, but it worked for the time. Phantasio would never, nor should it work as a gimmick. It's been noted that it debuted in pretty much the worst year for the WWF.. So, I'll let it slide. But, Phantasio wins!

I don't really know either one of them. But from what I can read on Wikipedia Phantasio got released after his first match. That would probably mean that he was by far the most awful one. Seeing as Glacier didn't get released. He got an undefeated streak and he actually got to experience feuds.

There's not really much to say to this match. I think Phantasio is the most awful one of the two.

Phantasio by a mile. To be fair to WCW, Mortal Kombat was one of the better things they ripped off. Shame Glacier never lived up to the immense costume, but he was pretty cool. On the other hand, Phantasio's gotta be up there with the biggest flops in wrestling.

I have to agree, Glacier at least had a longer stint in WCW, Phantasio had a showing on superstars which led to his eventual dismissal.

Neither man had served a huge purpose, neither man actually had anything worthwhile happen, but Glacier did have a long story that allowed him to meet Mortis on PPV.

So im giving this to Phantasio who basically did nothing but beat a wrestler by pulling up his boxers , Vince must have been stoned when thinking up this gimmick.

Glacier sucked, but was ok in the ring, and he had a decent feud with Ernest the Cat Miller. Phantasio just was lame, nobody likes mimes, but if it was a jobber, it would have ruled. but he wasn't so he was lame.

Glacier by far. At least he had a decent stint in WCW. Granted he was a complete ripoff of a video game character but a lot of people forget that TNT had a show following Nitro, Mortal Combat so yeah that was another reason. Phantasio had one appearance and that match sucked. Sure I'd want to see it over Khali vs. Viscera but still it was awful.

Glacier had talent in the ring, he had some kickboxing mixed in there and his original entrance, was amazing. Lazer Light show and it was snowing, WWF couldnt top for a long time. The best WWF had compared to that was the random bolt of lightning for Undertaker.

Well they were both terrible, but Phantasio wins by a country mile because the WWF realized it was such a bad gimmick they canned it after 1 showing, which just shows how unbelievably bad it was. Seriously, a dude that removes your underwear for a finisher is just a disaster waiting to happen.

I'm going to have to go with Phantasio here. When someone comes up with an idea like Phantasio how far to they really expect it to go? Granted not everyone is meant for success, but that's why Phantasio wins here. He was clearly meant for a few appearances on Superstars (didn't even get a few) and that's about it. Can you imagine Phantasio vs Owen Hart or Jeff Jarrett or even Jean Pierre Lafitte on ppv? I can't. Just another flavor of the month, or flavor of the day in this case, gimmick in the WWF.

See, but here's the thing, Brain; while that was happening in the WWE, I'm sure that Phantasio cost them next to nothing. Sure, he'd be on Superstars, but it isn't like he was costing the company money.

Glaicer, on the other hand, was costing them money. Big time money. It was said his ring entrance alone was worth half a mil. Now personally I don't buy that large a number, but I do believe that he cost WCW plenty of money on entrances, wardrobe, and those damn promos that took six fucking months for him to get to WCW. That was not only a bad gimmick, but a bad expensive gimmick. And for that, I have to go with Glacier. I've said just about everything possible about the guy before, but again, we didn't want martial arts, we wanted wrestling. Glacier was a martial artist, and we just didn' care, even when they brough in Kanyon to play another Mortal Kombat character just for him.

Phantasio cost nothing. Glacier cost a hell of a lot of money, and was still a bad gimmick

I disagree on at least Hakushi
He was great and I think booked quite well. Too bad he never went to WCW as there his high flying style would have looked great. But I enjoyed his matches
Kama=Glacier same idea capitalizing on the SF/MK craze
I go with Phantasimo bc well he had one match and one buy giving a wedgie. I swear when Vince must have saw that match is when he first came up with
YOURE FIRED

I see your point here. Glacier was definitely a bigger disappointment. He had a lot of hype and expectations. Phantasio wasn't a disappointment because he was not expected to succeed. I was just looking at what was the more lame idea to begin with. Like I've said in other posts I didn't watch too much WCW so I'm not too familiar with Glacier. Hell I've probably seen him wrestle just as many times as I saw Phantasio (which would be one). I just thought people were initially excited about him. From what I've read he bombed because he sucked in the ring. I'm not taking ring work into consideration, only the idea behind the gimmick (not that Glacier was a good one anyway). I think you're going by overall success relative to hype and expectations. I'm imaging a group of people in a conference room brainstorming ideas when someone says "how about this?" You've given me something else to consider going forward.
