The IWG starring "worked shoots"

shattered dreams

Hexagonal Hedonist
The G is for gullible.

At what point is the rest of the IWC going to realize what those that follow TNA regularly have: all these "reports" are used to fuel storylines. Dirtsheet reporters throw Hardy under the bus because he is not in wwe anymore convincing the gullible that he is on his way to jail. Well, great now we can easily keep his win a surprise. Various uncharacteristic interviews, blogs and tweets just happen to keep popping up in storylines. Now immediately after BFG we have Angle tweeting about Hogan and backstage politics (notice the correlation to storylines heading in) and this anonymous exclusive

There is definite fallout from the Atmosphere of Swerves, aka "Working the Talent," that has taken over the TNA locker room recently.

"When Dixie tweeted UNBELIEVABLE tonight, my thought was, EXACTLY!" a long time TNA wrestler told WZ. "The dressing room atmosphere has changed noticeably in the past few weeks. You can see it everywhere. No one trusts anyone anymore. It's all swerves and working the boys. Bischoff and Russo and Hogan tried to recreate the birth of the nWo, but they've recreated the Fall of WCW instead."

The long time wrestler pointed out that tonight's pay per view concluded with Hogan revealing that his back problems are not nearly what he's played them up to be, and that Kurt Angle lost a match that is supposed to see him retire, yet the announcers never even mentioned it after the match.

"You can't blame Tenay and Taz for that," he said, "they were obviously told not to say anything when everything went down with Hulk, Bischoff, Jarrett, and Hardy all turning heel."

"And here's Nash, either working everyone, or really pissed off because they're not giving him the money he wants," the long time wrestler revealed, "and whether it's another swerve or not, JWOWW getting 15 grand just for one appearance, with a mid-card gimmick that sucks, is not going over well with the talent, either."

The TNA wrestler said, "way to reward the guys that are bleeding and risking their lives for the company!"

Now my immediate reaction to this is that TNA is at it again. So I log on here and sure enough we have people eating it up. Itz fall wcw AGAIN!! People should really start using some common sense. How many times has an anonymous presence said that TNA had bad backstage morale over the past months of this story? In fact wouldn't a noticeable change mean that morale was back to good based on the previous anonymous reports that it was bad? They are not working the talent (at least not more than any other company does), they are not working real shoots (at least not meaningful ones), they are working the internet. Can people not see that? They want you to put heat on the new group by associating them with what the IWC thinks killed WCW. They want you think they are working real shoots instead of manufacturing them or playing off of resolved conflicts. Someone please tell me what shoot they are working? Like I said they are not working shoots they are working Internet ideas: Dixie is a mark, Hogan and other vets are greedy and power hungry, Jeff Hardy is going to jail, TNA is turning into WCW with worked shoots, unhappy held back young talent etc.

So next time you use one of "these reports" as evidence of why you are so smart, stop and think if you really should be doing that.

Thoughts? Unrelated rants? References to TNA moving back to Thursdays?

I definitely believe that they are using the internet to trick the fans into being confused...on not really knowing what is real and what is a work. I personally don't think it's a bad idea either (if that's what's going on anyway) because it brings back that element of surprise that had disappeared for quite some time in the internet age. Regardless of whether or not it's a surprise you wanted to see...it still brings it back and I certainly like it.

Personally, I think they put this group together to perhaps try and recreate the "Millionaire's Club" (Veterans) Vs. "New Blood" (Rookies). The reason it didn't work before is because the fans ended up cheering for the veterans and booing the rookies...so the plan always backfired. I think they are trying to build a lot of heat anyway they can towards the older veteran type guys in an effort to finally successfully push the younger guys fighting for their spot in it all. At least this is my opinion and would make some decent sense anyway. I think the best way to build up more heat towards the veterans is to trick the fans with the internet news as well as pissing them off on the shows and stuff. Adding those two together would make it pretty hard for anybody to cheer for the veterans this time around (except for myself, I'll always cheer for them over the new guys regardless) and could lead to a very good angle that pushes the new young guys much faster than normally.

This is just my opinion of course and I feel it makes more sense than any alternative I've been considering anyway...

First of all, I agree that some/many/most of the information that comes out is TNA working the IWC, and possibly working the locker room as well.

But I don't think Shattered Dreams fully understands what Bischoff/Russo are doing. They're taking real discontent and using that as fuel to hype their heel faction, thinking that that drives ratings/PPV buys.

The higher up you are on the pay scale and food chain, the less unhappy you're likely to be with all this. I could easily see Nash cooperating with management on Twitter-working the world--he's making good money and has reason to be okay with the way things are going. Even if the first set of drunken tweets were real, a new contract can heal those wounds and get you ready to work your twitter followers in the pursuit of more PPV buys.

If TNA did lie to the talent about Hogan's medical condition, they human nature says that they will not be happy about it. Who likes being lied to? Especially about something serious. Nash and managemen lied about his contract? So what, you maybe wasted $50 on a retirement cake. Hogan was supposed to be nearly paralyzed, remember. You PRAYED for that bastard. And that lying bastard is your boss. Your boss at the company you just bled all over Daytona for, in a match you were booked to lose to the stars of a dead cult promotion. How does your life not suck right now?

And if you're a longtime TNA guy, human nature says you're not going to be happy about the company spending $15,000 to boost a new midcard gimmick. SD, do you really think that AJ Styles or Jay Lethal or Robert Roode or Samoa Joe or Amazing Red is happy about that, given what TNA Creative seems to think of them?

You might say, fuck them, they have a job to do and they need to do that job. Which is all true, but that doesn't change the fact that they aren't happy with the way the company is going.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe after Bound For Glory everybody on the roster took a great big money bath before going out for cocaine and hookers. But I think it's more likely that TNA Management is making a storyline out of real discontent.

The thing is I don't see them really fooling anyone because everyone saw what was coming at BFG since Hogan arrived except for the Hardy turn, which didn't make a lick of sense it was another endless swerve for the sake of a swerve that they have been doing since Hogan and Bischoff first started the nWo over 20 years ago. Putting out false info is nothing new either every promotion has been doing that since the IWC got so big TNA is just doing it more blatantly now than anyone has before. Still that doesn't make up for the piss poor execution of their storylines.

A Cena ? Fan? Talking about sense? :lmao:

It makes a whole lot of sense. It takes someone with a brain to figure it out. So, since your struggling, I'll provide the facts and clues that you obviously missed while trying to shit on the promotion.

Fast forward to 2010: He debuts in January. He grabs a contract with Shannon.

-March 8th: He returns as an official member of the roster, his first match? Against AJ STYLES who was the CHAMP.

-He then faces against RVD for a title shot. He LOST. Which had RVD WIN the title when Jeff was supposed to win that match but being a face, he showed no signs of hatred.

-Hogan starts calling RVD the future of TNA and the face. Which was all a lie to set up Abyss getting a title shot once Hogan made Abyss his student and eventually him turning against Hogan which sparked a fire under RVD taking Hogan's side allowing a TITLE match vs. Abyss.

-Sting vs. RVD...Remember DECEPTION? Sting knew the plan all along. Sting said "Whats Black is White and whats White is Black" this was from June.

-Victory Road 2010: RVD vs. Abyss vs. Hardy vs. Anderson.

-A match where Hardy was supposed to win. But it never happened. If you re-watch, RVD was going to win until Abyss went nuts and that prolonged this plan they had in effect.

-Abyss eventually takes out RVD with Janice. Which FORCED the belt off of him setting up a Tourny for Hardy to win. That's around the same time Abyss started talking about "They" and 10.10.10.

-Hardy vs. Angle? Who won? That's right NOBODY. Bischoff wanted to throw both men into the main event but Dixie overruled. Eventually both of them got into the main event. Why? It would have been easy to get the belt on Hardy AND get Kurt to retire since he is the biggest threat in the company. They used his own "Win or Retire" angle to their advantage.

-Let's not forget Angle and Anderson had so much build up with each other that Hardy was the Dark Horse. That explains why the last 2 weeks of build up for the 3 Way match did not include Jeff Hardy.

I'd like to respond to this rep comment here

Did you seriously just say that you think Jeff Hardy's drug case is a work?

WTF are you talking about, I am beginning to think watching WWE truly makes one more stupid. I said they exploited the incorrect belief that Hardy could not win the title based on the exaggerations surrounding his drug case.

What is the real discontent? That is the point of my post. I do not see it. To me they are creating the illusion of "real" discontent to fuel peoples interest in the ways optimist accurately describes. It is certainly a matter of opinion but it just seems to me that since just about everything continues to turn out to be "coincidentally" a perfect fit for the stories, that this idea of discontent is as well. Now just like any company, in any industry, I am sure that someone is unhappy with something but that is true everywhere. Also, everyone keeps the big secrets tight to their chest in wrestling. The more people you tell, the more likely it gets out. Why does someone on the undercard need to know all the details? They do not. Everyone knows the mystery GM in WWE? All the talent were told about the Bryan situation in detail? As best I had ever heard many wrestlers simply come in week by week seeing what their character does next. This all just seems like another IWC invented idea that TNA is exploiting.
