I love the Lord of the Rings story, after the Star Wars legacy, I love these second with the Rocky movies third.Still I know the Lord of the Rings story up and down, but I was never able to read the original story the Hobbit, like I did with the other books.Still can't wait to see this...

If it's anything like the book, and The Trilogy, it will be something to remember. I'm the most hardcore Tolkien fan on this site and I cannot wait for this adaptation. The only flaw is making me wait an entire year between parts one and two!

Thank God Peter Jackson is directing this. I wouldn't trust this movie to anybody else. The Hobbit has just as much potential to be a ground-breaking masterpiece as LOTR did. As a die hard Tolkien fan, I am overjoyed that this movie is being made. I simply cannot fucking wait.

I never read the Hobbit, but I want to more now.Two movies for one book man, that's going to be hard for Peter Jackson to due.I wonder where the movie where the movie will cut off, to start the next flim hmmm...

God knows if theres going to be enough material to last two films though, the books themselves can be pretty tiresome, the guy describes pretty much every blade of grass and every fucking song those overly cheerfull little oiks insist on singing. To make it work the films are surely going to have to add more stuff to this, when they should be cutting it out like they did with Lord Of The Rings.

Lord Of The Rings worked because they took out a fair chunk of the travelling and singing and replaced it with the stuff that should've been a real event in the books, like Helms Deep. Ever read Helms Deep in the Two Towers? It's a page and a half of "and then Aragorn found Eomer, together they went to the gate and slew many orcs, then Aragorn realised the wall had been breached, so he went to the breach and slew many orcs." In the film its, well its the whole point.

The Hobbit is the same, they've got their work cut out for them in this one I think. Not that I am pessimistic of course.
