I'm coming back to an old series I once manned called "The Greatest Album By..." This time, we're focusing on Rock band "Muse". Since 1999, the band have released 6 Albums (Not including live albums), their latest coming out in mid-2012, the song "Survival" being the main song used in the London Olympics. Anyways, the six albums released by Muse are as such;
The question is;
Which is the greatest album by Muse?
For me, Black Holes & Revelations is my favourite. It was the album that introduced me to Muse and to this day, is the only one I can sing from the first song to the last without forgetting a word. I think that's the reason I like it so much.
However, most of the better Muse songs have come from the first 3 Albums (Plug In Baby, Hysteria, Stockholm Syndrome, New Born and more). I just think that BH&R hit a level that gave Muse a new found fame, especially with songs such as Supermassive Black Hole & Knights of Cydonia.
To me, The Resistance was an album that fell flat on it's face, with maybe 2/3 really good songs on it, which left me not feeling very hopeful for The 2nd Law. However, I think 2nd Law is brilliant and definitely an Album that gave me more faith in the future for Muse. Songs such as Supremacy & Survival are just epic pieces of music, both extremely hard-hitting.
However, like I've said, Black Holes & Revelations, for me, is Muse's greatest album.
