The Feuds that should have happened

gj2000

Dark Match Winner
There have been feuds that many of us had questioned, saying "Why the hell is this shit on my television screen"; Heidenreich vs The Undertaker, Kane vs Edge and the list goes on.

But, what are the feuds that SHOULD have happened at a point in time, where the situation seemed so perfect, yet somehow the company screwed it up? Or maybe there were other feuds, where there was much potential, and the company just never went there? One for me would have been HBK vs The Rock. That just screams money. So, what are your thoughts?

Kane v. Kane back in 06 had loads of potential. They just didn't know how to do it, so they pulled the plug. The Undertaker should have faced Mordecai(if ya don't remember, he was basically Taker's polar opposite back in 04). That feud would've been great! And whatever happened to Punk v. Daniel Bryan?

Cena did.

That being said, I only have one feud that I would have loved to see. This would have been back in 2008-09, when Christian was supposed to be revealed as the one behind Jeff Hardy's "accidents." When I saw the rumours, I was so happy to see that Christian would finally get to the main event, but unfortunately WWE caught on and they revealed it to be Matt, with Christian returning on ECW, instead.

I got to agree with truth316, seeing undertaker feuding with cena would be epic, two of the biggest faces in company history involved in a personel rivaly leading to a match @ mania is the one feud i think needs to happen and should've already happend.

Already mentioned is The Rock vs HBK. Although when they crossed paths in 2003 I think both were heels so at the time wouldnt of made sense. PLUS Rock was involved in programmes with Goldberg, Hogan and finally Austin. I wasn't complaining.

I do think Austin and Hogan should of got it on aswell. Hogan was fed to The Rock in 2002. Again no complaints as that was a classic match (might watch it this afternoon) but it would of being nice to see. They had the entire 2002 to do that one.

Austin vs Goldberg is another. Although not sure either would wanna lie down for the other. Austin was WWE and Goldberg was WCW. Would of made the other organisation look weaker.

As far as WWE goes now. We need to see Cena vs Taker. I would love to see them plant the seeds later this year before they get it on at WM28. I think eventually it will happen.

Austin vs Hogan is the obvious answer but one that I thought should have happened is Edge vs HHH. They had a match back in 2008 but the story was more about Edge and Vickie than him and HHH. Both guys are some of the best on the mic and in the ring. I think their fued would have been pretty good as long as the story was there. Two of the best in the WWE in the 2000s and it never happened and I don't think it will. The best opprotunity for it would have been in 2002 when it was said Edge was supposed to be switched to Raw and win the WHC at that year's Survivor Series. They also had another opprotunity in 2004 when Edge returned from injury and declared war on Evolution but they sooned turned him heel and went with HHH vs Orton.

Only two I can think off that I would have really liked to have seen, and they could (well mostly) have happened. If only... *sigh*

1.HBK v Rock, but it would have to be 97/98 HBK
2.DX (HBK,HHH,Chyna,NAO,XPAC) v NWO

Vince let Hogan screw up some great potential match ups back in the day... Why we never saw Rude as champ instead of Slaughter with Hogan chasing is one of the biggest mess ups ever... Hogan wins at Mania7, only for Flair to show up and they then feud till WM8... that year would have been mega money but Hogan refused to lie down for "smaller" guys... It made it all the more stupid once you realise barely a year later they put the belt on Flair and then Bret Hart... Hart v Rude for the title? would have been amazing...

Fast forward to 1992 and Bret wins the World title, they put him with IC champion Shawn and Yokozuna, when just months earlier he and Davey Boy, had put on the best match ever... sure Davey got the roid rap but even so, it was a mistake not to carry that feud over into the World title rather than the rather tepid first reign Bret had...Davey taking the risk and sacrificing the IC belt for the chance at the big one...

1994 - Undertaker is taking on himself. WTF? Surely he should have been taking on the guy who had so spectacularly fallen from grace... Lex Luger...

2006 - The Rockers get back together for their "one night only" reunion against La Resistance... yet surely at the time they should have carried on and feuded with MNM? and later The Hardyz? How much help would Jo Mo and Mercury have gotten from that feud? Jannetty was looking good, Shawn was keen... why not follow through?

Punk and Bryan are doing the Raw Live Shows next month. WWE testing the waters probably for a future angle. Bryan used to be in Nexus and I remember Punk on commentating "scouting him" and clapping sarcastically.

The seeds have being planted.

Well a couple for me:

The Road Warriors vs The Von Erichs- Never happened even though it would have been a huge money maker in WCCW Fritz never brought the Warriors in. He didn't want his boys looking weak or the Warriors being cheered as heels against his boys which would have happened !

Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody vs the Road Warriors- A feud between the 2 most dominant teams of the 1980's would have been a MEGA money maker in Japan but it never happened ! Hansen in his shoot interview mentioned that neither team would have given in to the other. They both had reps as monsters and never did jobs so it wouldn't have worked. Neither team could afford to look weak so it never came to be.

Clear answer is Jericho vs Goldberg. If you watch the new "Break the Walls Down" DVD that recently came out, Chris and the WWE folks finally go in depth on it. Between Goldberg feeling like it'd be a 'step down' for him to fight Jericho to the backstage BS that occured there - the fact that months of Chris's hard work and brilliant build up ended with a simple spear on the entrance ramp was such a let down, and a major reason Jericho went to WWE and started the exodus from WWE.

I whole heartedly agree on Jericho vs. Goldberg. I don't see what Bill was so threatened about, Jericho had stated he'd glady let himself be obliderated in squash like fashion, because basically fans have wanted to see that for months. It was a perfect element really, because fans who hated Jericho (obviously acknowledging he had a following as well), wanted to see him get his come uppance not just during the Goldberg feud, but for the entire DAMN year! He always found ways to win, and whenever he did loose, he was never down for long, finding loopholes, or winning another title soon after. The fans who hated Jericho from a mark standpoint, wanted to see him get the living PISS beat out of him for a year! Who better to do that than the biggest star in the company (this would be the part where Hogan would interrupt my post saying "I never feuded with Jericho in WCW"!).

Another feud would be Austin vs. Regal. This is arguable yes, but IMO, I just think these two would've meshed well. Austin was always good at working with technicians. And the feud could've played out with Regal, getting sick of the fact that the WWF wasn't being represented with class and good manner, and claiming he could be the guy, there could've been some great comedic segments between the two of them, with vignettes of Regal teaching a few Austin fans to be gentlemen. And then Regal just gets downright nasty with a vicious beatdown, and becomes royally obsessed with his mission.

Another one that's a bit more recent, is Shawn Michaels vs. Shelton Benjamin. After there showdown on "Raw" back in '05, and when Shelton turned heel later on, he and Shawn were having a few verbal altercations backstage, about Shelton's overall attitude and ablities etc. And I thought it could've lead to something.

One from 1990 or '91 WCW, is Ric Flair vs. Scott Steiner, I know they had a bit of a feud, and a big match, but I really think they didn't go all the way with it, and had the chance to make it seem significant, Scott was really catching fire as a singles star, but the match was so bad (and it was from what I recall), that Scott's push was derailed.

But NUMBER ONE...always for me....Bret vs. The Old Guard! See here's the thing, now I know that this is just me playing fantasy booker. I always envisioned Bret's babyface push, phasing out the old guard. Him vs. Warrior would've been great at Wrestlemania IX, as would've him and Hogan at Summerslam '93. I always thought Savage should've gotten one last push, and many have said that. No disprespect to Mr. Backlund, but it would've been great, having Savage play the psychotic ex-champ with a chip on his shoulder, and a heel turn wouldn't hurt him, he always had a huge following regardless of what side of the fence he was on.

Kurt Angle vs Ken Shamrock. Shamrock was in negotiation with WWE in 2002 to do a short program with Angle, but they wouldn't gave him the easy schedule that Hall, Hogan and Nash got. So he went to TNA instead, because then he could still combine it with MMA.
