The EAATBU (Electronic Artists About To Blow Up) Thread

Cena's Little Helper

So, I'm essentially creating this thread to brag to all of my dance music compadres and e-compadres about my abilities to spot musicians/DJs that are about to hit it freakin' big on the club scene (I'm talking epic proportions big, like Daft Punk-, Justice-, Cassius-, and Air-big). Even if I'm wrong, I have the benefit of saying that people can't tell great music from their asses (so, it's a win-win situation for me :D). Anyway, first up is none other than my main man from London, Russ Chimes.

Although quite well-known on the blog scene for his remixes, his EP, Midnight Club, will be dropping pretty soon. In anticipation of Midnight Club's release, he's commissioned an eponymous trilogy of mind-blowing music videos, each with a song from the EP. Here they are:

I have no clue who this Saman Keshavarz character is, but, in my opinion, just with these videos, he's already on the level of such iconic music video directors as Spike Jonze, Hype Williams, Michel Gondry, Romain Gavras, and Tarsem Singh. Oh, and if you haven't already figured it out, the music is fucking epic, especially Targa, the song for the last video. Mark my words: this song will be on all Ibiza/Club anthem compilation albums in five years, and I'm confident Chimes will have even more breathtaking house music to his credit by this time as well.

Well, since my prediction about Russ Chimes's Targa was dead fucking on (it got a spot in Hed Kandi's latest Nu Disco compilation and is featured on a shit ton of tracklists), I thought I'd give my two or three fellow electro-heads another one.

Electronic god Shinichi Osawa dropped SO2 earlier this year. But, I'm not hear to praise a man who already gets enough of it; instead, I'm here to bow down to Rhythm Droid, the man behind the eponymous remix of Shinichi Osawa's Zingaro:

While I love Targa, this is easily my favorite dance track of the year. Rhythm Droid speeds and touches up to make Osawa's original what it was meant to be: a wet dream for those who like 8-bit video game music-inspired dance songs. I wish nothing but the utmost for Rhythm Droid now (something tells me that it's not too far around the corner).
