The Dude Always Walked

It's amazing, you make me hate you (disrespecting Anthony Hopkins in such a way, you bad boy) and love you in the same thread. Jason X was classic theatre shlock, I saw it 3 times in theatres and own the DVD.

Jason X was indeed fun as hell to see in theaters, and I too love to pop in it atleast once or twice a year. Great late night fare and always fun to watch with friends. I'd still rather watch Part IV though.

Death scenes in Jason X > Death Scenes in Freddy vs Jason. Much more realistic, more slow, and less CGI'd. The scene in FvJ when he turns the guys head around seemlessly, and the guy's head blinks - so ******ed - and the spritzing blood? Thats supposed to be Japanese kung fu effects, but it's the equivalent of shaking up a can of soda and puncturing it. Makes no sense at all.

I still love Freddy vs. Jason though. It's total mindless shit and it's still fun as hell. All of the F13 movies are just insanely fun to see in a raucous theater after a few drinks. I love the whole dumb high-schoolers partying and getting killed thing, so Freddy vs. Jason was awesome in my book.

Most painful scene in the Friday the 13th series, though? Surprisingly part five when the fake Jason uses the leather strap against the tree and crushes the guy's skull.

A lot of people hate part five simply because it's not "really" Jason, but I absolutely love it. It's total and utter garbage at it's absolute best, from the ******ed man being chopped to death with an axe over a candy bar to the oh-so-hip new wave girl attempting to do a weird robot dance. Fuckin' classic.

And little know fact about the Part 7 sleeping bag scene - originally Jason was supposed to whack her against the tree 5 or 6 times, but it was cut to one to avoid an NC-17. Notwithstanding the fact that he TECHNICALLY made sleeping bag impact with where the girl's feet had been, yet still cracked her head.

I've got an uncut (really actually a workprint) DVD of Part 7 with all of the original death scenes intact. The kills in that movie are absolutely brutal stuff. Heres a clip of the original scene for those that want to see it, fast forward to about 43 seconds into the video. The rest of the uncut kills are on it as well, pretty brutal by even a slasher movie's standards.

Part 7 was always a sleepover late night favorite with my friends when I was a kid, that and Scream. Scream gives me a stiffy it's so fun.

Oh and for some reason the title of this thread is just perfect for a thread about the F13 movies.

Yeah the death boat scenes weren't exactly great, but that's just the kind of junk filler that every action movie has, even the absolute best. TDK overall though is brilliant.

Eh. It's above average, but probably the biggest let-down I've seen in cinemas... ever, actually. I was expecting Fun with Dick and Jane to be absolute shit.

I hate how, despite the fact that he's a fucking ninja, Batman has trouble with dogs and - after taking down waves of criminals earlier - can't take Harvey Dent out without shoving him off a building. That's just a problem I have with the logic. My actual problems revolve around how poorly structured and visualised the end is rather than the fact that it makes no sense.

Visualised? You get what I mean.

You don't like the opening scene to Reservoir Dogs?

We talking the cafe scene? Because the cafe scene was a mistake to me; it makes the rest of the film seem like boring shit.

Maybe you're just not a George Baker fan. That opening titles sequence sends the chills up my spine every time.

Oh, the actual credits sequence? Yeah, that's pretty good.

And of course it's unoriginal, that's Tarantino's thing. He borrows from a handful of movies to create something great in his own way.

Talking about the opening scene of The Dark Knight. We're about to see it once more in Public Enemies, I promise you.

For the record, I will always, always, always think that Pulp Fiction pisses on Reservoir Dogs and pretty much any other film ever. I was joking about Jaws II being better than Jaws, but had fun stringing you along. Alien 3 is also underrated, but not necessarily better than Alien, which is moderately overrated, although it's still very good. James Cameron, Peter Jackson and 3-dimensional cinema can suck my dick, but I'm excited as fuck to see Inglorious Bastards in glorious 2D.

See, I'm of the opposite persuasion. I think Pulp Fiction is overrated. Still a fucking masterpiece, but in my book doesn't touch Reservoir Dogs. Reservoir Dogs is just fucking amazing, even the most slow and tedious scenes have my eyes glued to the screen. Everything about it just oozes cool.

While Pulp Fiction is still amazing, it has it's problems. Like virtually the entire Bruce Willis portion of the film. Aside from that though, every minute is pure gold.

Reservoir Dogs > Pulp Fiction if you ask me.

And I knew you were joking about Jaws as soon as you mentioned the electrocution scene, don't worry.
