The Dude Always Walked

The Future Mr. Kelly Kelly
So I recently sat down and watched an old "Friday the 13th" horror movie.

I absolutely love horror flicks and believe the "Friday the 13th" series is one of the best accumulations of horror flicks ever.

But why did Jason always catch people by walking ?? It didn't matter how fast they ran or if they took off in a car, dude always walked and caught the fuckers.

Just curious.

A friend of mine wrote a mock advertisement for this once. She made up a line of shoes that villians wear which make them walk fast enough to catch people.

I'd say it's likely because the people they're chasing always scream and throw stuff in their paths which wastes a lot of time.

they always invariabley trip over a tiny root and shatter their ankle (apparently) even though, fuck that, if a monster is walking after me to slaughter me, adreniline would carry you on after breaking your leg.

it happens in battlezones ALL the time. you can shatter or even LOOSE any number of limbs, and unless you go into shock, you will keep running for your life. its human nature.

That's true. In one of my "outings" I had a decent sized knife put into my leg. I didn't notice it for about ten minutes or so.

I know if a dude in a ski mask wielding a machete were chasing me, come hell or high water, I'm running no matter what.

And I used to smoke a pack a day.

Ahhh Friday the 13th, my first horror film love and obsession. I used to avidly watch parts 1-8 again, and again, and again, and again as a kid. Seen the ones after that several times as well, but the first eight I used to watch like almost every day, even the unbelievably awful Jason Takes Manhattan (I cry with laughter every time Jason punches that guy's head off).

In my book, the best of the series is either Part 4 or Part 2. Toss-up between those two. The original is amazing of course, but I've always preferred 2 and 4. Especially 4. That was the go-to movie to throw on the TV whenever I used to throw parties at my mom's house when I was a teen, the Friday the 13th movies always delivered the babes.

Oh and Jason walks...because he can. Jason makes Chuck Norris look like a crying frightened child.

ah, I was waiting for XFear to come in here and break down for us the phsycology and necessity of bad-guy-slow-walking in horror films.

Nah I'll save that lengthy discussion for a forum with the post count on. I'm a bit of a ****e, afterall.

The twist is that it's actually set before Friday the 13th. Or is it?

Sorry for ruining Jason X for you, everybody.

He totally falls so fast that he falls through time. It's definitely what happens and it's not open to interpretation.
