Do you feel an effect due to Edge's absence?
Not really. And I've answered this question numerous times over the past few months and I'll answer it again; I prefer Smackdown as it is now because it's pointed more at the younger talent now than it was when Edge was around, if Edge hadn't retired then we wouldn't have had the draft and chances are WWE wouldn't have placed so-and-so on the Smackdown brand.
I tune into Smackdown every week to watch guys like Randy Orton, who since the change has gone into what I think is the best few months of his career from a character and wrestling perspective. I watch Christian; I never tuned into Smackdown to watch Edge, I never fully enjoyed his work since Rated RKO ended, Christian to me has always been better. I tune in to watch Cody Rhodes, Danielson, Wade Barrett, Sin Cara, Sheamus and DiBiase. Edge wouldn't be on that list, because he never really made me excited to tune into the show.
So no, I don't feel the abscence of Edge. I think he was an awesome performer, some of the things he did down the years like the live sex celebration, bringing in the Rated R WWE Championship belt, his angle with Matt Hardy and Lita which came from a real life incident; Edge was great, but he was never as good as Christian to me and he wasn't somebody I felt the need to watch since his Royal Rumble return - and two weeks later I didn't care for him anymore.
If Edge were still able to compete, what do you think would be happening on Smackdown?[/I]
Edge feuding with Christian. Reports were around that WWE planned to turn Christian heel anyway, everyone thought he'd turn at WrestleMania but WWE held off because the next rumor was Edge vs. Christian vs. Del Rio at Extreme Rules; either way I think Christian would have won the World Heavyweight Championship anyway and would have entered into a long program with Edge.
Everyone knew Edge vs. Christian was coming. But WWE never pulled the trigger and before they could, Edge had to draw his career to a close.
