The Dirt Sheet on TV?

Am I the only one who thinks that the Dirt Sheet w/Morrison and Miz should be aired on TV during ECW?

WWE wants/is trying to push younger guys for a "new era," and this could very well help out. It would put both Miz and Morrison more over than they are now.
Every episode of the Dirt Sheet is absolutely HILARIOUS, and from what I heard, the concept of the show is actually thought of by John Morrison and The Miz. Could you imagine what else these guys could do given more mic time?

So who thinks that The Dirt Sheet should be aired on TV instead of just on the internet?

In my opinion, the main reason that this isn't the case is simply that Miz and Morrison are heels. It's the same thing that happened to HBK and Janetty once in WCW, with their Flair for the Old segments. They were getting over, so WCW stopped it, trying to keep The Rockers as heels.

The same thing is happening now to Miz and Morrison. The Dirt Sheet continues on WWE.com because it's entertaining and it gets the website hits, but it will never make it onto widestream TV because M&M would get over with the fans, and Vince would never let entertainment get in the way of who he decides is face and heel. So, although The Dirt Sheet is funny enough to be on television, it won't even be considered unless M&M have a face turn.

Yeah I get where youre coming from, but it still would be a good idea to air it on TV. Then they could turn Miz and Morrison face while they still have the belts, have them defend against/feud with heel tag teams to become more credible, and then have Miz betray Morrison, leading to a new breakout heel in Miz and a new breakout babyface in Morrison.
Then have them feud for a while, maybe even include a US/ECW/Intercontinental title in there too, and by the end of the fued, youve got a new maineventer face (Morrison) and a new uppercard heel (The Miz)

Tricky thing. When they're making fun of wrestlers, they could easily do that on TV. But the "off-the-wall" comedy segments they do half the time, it would probably come off cheesy on TV. Plus, do you go the route of making it more vicious to keep them as heels, or slowly start turning them into tweeners/eventual faces, similar to how the Rock was a douche-bag to people back in the day but was a face in doing so?

Right now, I'd like to see Morrison and Miz continue as heels for a little while longer, but they need to allow them to do one (or both) of two things: 1) Get on the mic and make people hate them more, but continue with the in-ring domination as that's helped a lot. 2) Put them in matches with better quality wrestlers. If nobody cares about Yang/Moore, Jesse/Festus, and other tag teams enough, then nobody cares when the heels beat the crap out of them.

So the Dirt Sheet could be their own interview segment similar to the VIP Lounge, Carlito's Cabana, Highlight Reel, blah blah blah...but the trouble is that they have too many of those as-is. Get rid of Carlito's Cabana, as he's not impressing anybody, and replace it with Morrison & Miz. I'd also like to see them bring back the "Fifteen Minutes of Fame" match challenge that Morrison had before. That was a cool concept, especially when he would book himself against jobbers that clearly had no shot. That's like dangling a toy in front of a kid and teasing them, lol, great heel stuff.

Yeah, i agree with the above post. They really could push the heck out of these two if it was done right. Both have really come a long way, especially Miz, it is just a matter of time b4 these 2 get the run they deserve. I can't wait to see Morrison as a main-eventer, this guy just has a cool gimmick and look and i like the corkscrew neckbreaker as his finisher. Dirt Sheet and Miz and Morrison need to be on more.

I think it's working well right now. When they're put on tv, these segments for the most part just run together too much. They always just tend to be the same thing over and over again, and rarely accomplish anything. It almost always winds up in a brawl, leading to a match eventually. Miz and Morrisson aren't those kinds of wrestlers. They'd be better suited to do something like they're doing now, where it's less visable, but gets a decent amount of hits on the website. They might want to throw something in from the site on the shows, or maybe have a feud or war of words start up on there, leading to a match, which would tie it to the show. Interesting idea, but I don't think it'd work that well.

While I love the Dirt Sheet on wwe.com, I just dont see it being aired on television. Both guys are already way over. I went to a house show a few weeks ago and these two got the most heat behind Edge, I found it amazing.

The WWE website has lost viewers according to Vince and apparently the Dirt Sheet is pretty popular, so people like myself only log on to wwe.com to view videos such as these and to view photos of divas. Without videos and sexy photos, the WWE website will have less viewers. Its also losing viewers because it doesnt give out 'real information' unlike Wrestlezone does.

So the Dirt Sheet should stay on the website and shouldnt be aired on t.v if the WWE wants more viewers to their website.

While i havent myself seen the dirt sheet with the Miz and Morrison, I have heard alot about ir and heard people say that, its a good show. But with that if you was to put it on tv instead of the net, the jokes would become lame and non funny, They can do funnier stuff if it is kept on the net becouse you have a choice if you want to watch it and the WWE dont have to keep it PG. The Miz and Morrison dont really need to get over they are already over and are buy far the two best heels on ECW and are popular at the same time, I can see both of these superstars going far in there career and i dont think they need to put the dirtsheet on air to make it happen.

I've never watched The Dirt Sheet on WWE.com (though will make it a point to check it out now) but to air it on tv would be pretty good as Miz and Morrison are both over as heels that not many can stand. They don't get too much mic time, and I think if they were given a few minute timeslot to get in their punches to whomever they're feuding with that only add extra heat to their team.

The Dirt Sheet comes off very well in it's current web based form. I don't think would transcend well over to a television format. While snippits can be used for television, and can randomly poke fun at different superstars every week without it leading to a direct feud. I mean if they did this on TV, then they would feud with everyone who comes on the show, seeing as how they say derogatory things about anybody and everybody.

Just look at the purposes behind The VIP Lounge, The Highlight Reel, and The Cutting Edge. It's the further along feuds or angles involving the stars who host them. That's not what the Dirt Sheet is all about. And while we web-fans think that it's highly entertaining, the ratings counted majority might not get the concept as it's not like the aforementioned shows and it may leads to being more of a ratings killer than a ratings booster.

This sounds like a good idea. Maybe not the entire Dirt Sheet segment but give Miz and Morrison some time to show their humorous side. I saw one episode where they tried to contact the ghost of Paul Bearer with Mike Adamle. That was absolutely hilarious

Well its been officially announced that the Dirt Sheet will air on ECW this Tuesday.

So do you guys think its gonna be a set up similar to the 'Shawn Michaels turns on Marty Jannetty Angle' from 1992? Where Morrison will turn on Miz, or vice-versa, leading to a fued between the two?

Or is it gonna transition Miz and Morrison into faces by havin them become kinda like Edge and Christian circa 2000?

To me, this means one of three things:

1) This is the WWE's way of testing it out to see if they can make this a regular thing to boost up the ratings of ECW as well as give Morrison and Miz more mic-time.

2) They simply want to fill up time, but its gotten through their skull that it would be better to have something like this that involves your talent than to just add another squash match or promo.

3) Not very likely, but perhaps one turns face and the other stays heel, since they'll be talking to Hardy and Henry. Between the two, I'd say Morrison is the more likely to turn face. However, like I said, this is very, very unlikely to happen from my point of view. Not yet.

No matter what, I hope it accomplishes one thing: gets the WWE to start pushing Morrison to the main event and Miz to the midcard title.

I think that this is the main reason they want to do it. If they do this, we hopefully won't have to listen to Atlas and Henry for 10 minutes and we will get people who are good on the mic instead.

2) They simply want to fill up time, but its gotten through their skull that it would be better to have something like this that involves your talent than to just add another squash match or promo.

I think that this is part of it too, because ECW someimes seems to be struggling to fill up their timeslot, so they have to have a lot of promos, but the people aren't always good at cutting promos.

I'm pretty sure this wouldn't happen, as Miz and Morrison just lost the tag team titles and they wouldn't split up 2 former tag team champions on ECW. They would probably wait until a ppv or they would do it on Smackdown.
No matter what, I hope it accomplishes one thing: gets the WWE to start pushing Morrison to the main event and Miz to the midcard title.

I think tht if this works, we will see Morrison get a push into the main event level. However, I think that Miz may get lost in the shuffle and become a jobber or just stay off TV for a long time.
I hope that this idea works and that the WWE decide to keep it going or a long time and split them up a bit later on, as ECW could benefit a lot from this.

Well, as much of a fan of Morrison and Miz that I am...I have to say tonight's Dirt Sheet......a massive dud.

1) In my opinion, the worst Dirt Sheet episodes are the ones that are slapstick and low brow in their humor. This was not only one of those, but it also used one of the most tired gimmicks out there...the fake mouths. Like Matt said (or really, TRIED TO say, as he screwed up as he always does lol...Conan isn't pronounced like "The Barbarian", plus Hardy can't go 4 words without fumbling and stuttering), this little comedic segment is old and nothing that people haven't already seen a thousand times. Also, half the jokes consisted of just making odd noises.

2) The audience had no idea what to do. Do you cheer these two heels for making fun of Mark Henry and Tony Atlas? Do you boo them for making fun of Hardy? Do you cheer when Henry puts Morrison out, but also cheer when Hardy puts Miz down? Or do you boo because we're going to have to sit through Henry/Hardy teaming up next week and replicated the same basic situation as Cena/Batista was this week?

It did get me thinking about one thing, though. Could this possibly be a time to start working Morrison/Miz as tweeners as opposed to heels? The reaction from the women when Morrison mentioned his abs certainly isn't something that, when standing alone, warrants such a change, but hell, aren't these guys the essential tweeners in the WWE? To be a heel in the WWE means you can do no good. To be a face in the WWE means you can do no wrong. To be a tweener, you can do both, as you generally will go against a heel but you aren't hamming it up as a total babyface either. Maybe they should start booking Morrison and Miz as the next DX, basically. I don't mean in a literal sense, like, they should be inducted and wear the logo and all that. Just use these two in the same position that 98 DX was in. Michaels/Morrison, Miz/HHH, but they don't have a Chyna (though you could just add a Diva that would fit). These guys make fun of both sides and are just fan-favorites, not necessarily crossing the barriers into heel/face until the fans decide where they can go.

But as for tonight, it was a colossal flop.

While I've never seen the show online, this one to me was at least good. It showed a nice blend of comedy and wrestling topics but I'd love to see more of it. It had me laughing at the henry stuff, but I wasn't wild about them making themselves faces. Those two are at their best as arrogant obnoxious heels, not faces. THe one thing I did like was that it wasn't about Miz and Morrisson and whoever they were feuding with at the time, it was about their guests. All the other talk shows are bland as possible, but this one was a ncie change of pace. Overall not bad, but could improve in future episodes.

I personally liked the Dirt Sheet on ECW this week. I wasn't expecting much so maybe thats why I liked it. It was humourous in my opinion and the fans in the audience seemed to enjoy it too. Morrison is great on the mic, he definately made that segment. The tone of his voice just goes with the segment so well. It also advanced the Mark Henry/Matt Hardy storyline as they actually "helped" each other in clearing the ring of the ex WWE Tag Team Champions. A few more weeks and I think the tag team will be broken up.

But the segment was good, not great but it was certainly entertaining and it had its moments. I hope its not a weekly thing though unlike the Highlight Heel or the Cutting Edge. It should be a one time thing and hopefully the segment attracted even more viewers to log on to WWE.com and view the Dirt Sheet weekly. Ive always liked it online and the t.v version was pretty good.

I thought that the Dirt Sheet was okay on Tuesday night. It may be me but it's funnier on the web. It should stay on the web because if they have the Dirt Sheet at the end of the ECW it's a guarantee that the person who they poked fun at will come out and start fights like what Mark Henry and Matt Hardy did on Tuesday.

The Dirt Sheet was good this week, it got laughs from the crowd, Morrison did his one liners, Miz did most of the talking, then Matt Hardy and Mark Henry came down and beat the crap outta them.

It followed the same format as all WWE's other interview shows, with a few little twists, it also helped to make the champion and challenger look like the stand-out stars on ECW, not a program that should be done everyweek, but it could certainly help fueds progress, especially their own.

I enjoyed Tuesday night’s Dirt Sheet ECW debut more than I thought I would. In fact, Miz and Morrison’s mocking of Henry, Atlas, and Hardy was clever and funny, making it one of my favorite episodes.

I think Miz and Morrison sometimes come across as dull and laborious in standard promos and on guest commentary, so it was nice to finally see them get to show their charisma and comfort on the mic. I think the crowd didn't know what to expect, particularly those that have never seen the online shows. The show should catch on in time.

The only thing I don’t want to see every time is Morrison and Miz getting beaten up to close the show. It will become predictably boring and run the risk of turning Morrison and Miz into clowns no one will take serious, and these two deserve better than to be reduced to that.

I am really starting to grow on the Miz and Morrison. Morrison especially - he has great comedy delivery, and I find myself cheering him. He is the kind of cool heel that could get super over in time to come...

That...was flippin' hilarious. So dumb and 'tarded, it works. Another great thing from ECW. I was afraid it'd turn into another one of those interview segments, but they maintained the original charm that captivated us all.

...Or something?
