What's brownish-purple, goes to the beach and stinks of rotting flesh?

New York's celebrity-obsessed Hamptons summer season got even sillier this week when a strange-looking, very dead creature washed up on a beach in Montauk at the far eastern end of New York's Long Island.

On Tuesday afternoon, a photo was posted on Gawker, the Big Apple's reigning gossip blog, which treated the Montauk monster with characteristic respect: "Good Luck With Your Hell Demons."

The animal looks like a bloated, hairless dog, except that it's got an eagle-like beak, a prominent brow ridge and a curiously elongated front paw.

I don't really know what to think of this. After all, it seems completely stupid to think we know of every animal on this planet, when there are places on this world we could never go. Meaning there could quite obviously be more animals such as this one, especially in the sea. It's perfectly logical to think this is an animal in which we have just discovered; a new species.

However if so, it's slightly weird that this is the first time we've ever even seen a hint of it. No fossils, no teeth, nothing. Also, the body has disappeared, where is it now?

I'll stop there, because I want to hear everyone elses thoughts on what this could be.

This picture reminds me of what i imagined a hyppicrite(harrypotter creature) It certainley looks strange but i dont think its the devil. Obviously the most sensible reason it has disapaered is becouse they are conducting tests on it when was it found?.

I dont think it could be a sea creature. It has to be a land animal if anything. with the legs and all it looks like there is no way in hell that it could come from the sea. What the hell is it on his arm? it sort of looks like a rag of some sort.

My view on this is just some sort of breeding gone wrong, thats why it is the only one found. it got out of control died and the people responsible decided to ditch it hence the thing wrapped around its arm.

It could even be some sort of evoloution effect that is slowly going to happen. Then again there is also the chance this picture might be a fake and it is photoshopped there are so many reasons why it showed up and what it could be. I guess we will just have to wait until we have more options

But what the fuck do you breed to get that kind of animal. I've showed some friends this pic because I was intrested in it. As I am with some other cripto animals. But they said it could be a mutated turtle. Because of its no shell, It has a tail and long web like fingers. It also has a beak such as a turtle. The only thing wrong with it is its kinda elongated and birdish and I've never seen that in a turtle that bad. I've seen snaping turtles with a curved beak. But they don't have teeth, To my knowlige no turtle has teeth.

Back to its beak though, IT looks sort of like a squid beak, But that for sure is'nt a damn squid beak, It could be a dog, But again i've never seen a dog with a beek or that long of paw's. And are its teeth with the beak, I need to do some reaserch but I rember a exstinct fish that had bones comming out of its jaw into its mouth that were a result of evolution. Could this be a result of evolution, Or a result of polution?

This deffinalty is'nt the devil. The only thing that I remeber ever being around called the devil is the Nj devil. And they don't have a picture of it. And don't you think if I was the devil It would look more discusting?

Some things I'd like to point out that I've seen, is the body of it. Skinless, smooth looking (maybe rubbery)skin (and the color of it). The pig like tail, the teeth, the peak, the feet, and the head structure. Now with the feet they kinda look like they're webed or have webbing in them, with claws. And either im seeing things but is that a ear or a horn. And the thing on the leg.

Now i can see how it could led to the devil, as we are led to beleive that he doesnt have hair, red maybe or a shade in color, a tail, teeth, wings maybe, I've heard a peak a few times, and the (maybe) horns. Now my immediate thought wasnt that it wasn't the devil, but after time of thought it could indeed be a minnion of the devil, with its features and the head structure that doesnt resemble any animal. And I believe the devil to stand on 2 feet, and be taller.

Yes, it could be new species of animal. As I found it HIGHLY impossible for humans to have discover every species of animals on earth. I think that by its skin, that it could be a sea creature. The feet to me look like they have webing in them, to help move in the water. And the peak KINDA resembles that of a snaping turtle. But agin the head structure doesnt add up, and the thing that I think that I believe to horns.

Now I believe that it is indeed a breeding experiment. But breeded with what is the question. Some type of sea creature and a pig? maybe. The body structure kinda looks like a pig. The peak maybe breeded with some type of bird or a snapping turtle. And the disapearance of it, that could be explaned by "the man" coming and taking it away to hide away as it wasnt suppose to be discovered. The thing on its leg could be a tag, to no where its at. They tag birds sometimes, animals in the wild, so why not this new faild species. Those are just my thoughts on it but I think that it is a scientific experiment that failed.

I do not believe that its a failed breeding experement. Granted it could be, It could of died after birth. Because who knows what it was bred with, if I was. It could have but I don't think so. If I was cross bred I think a higher up goverment funded company might of had somthing to do with it. I just don't see 2 morons out in the boonies having enough money or giving a care to cross breed an animal. Because I just don't see an animal having sex with a different species of animal. Like a pig and a bird, It would of had to be artificial insemination or somthing like that. Witch I think regular people woulden't know how to do.

On the other hand it could be a hoax, Just a person very skilled with latex or rubber. That could be why theres no proof other than the pictures. I know for a fact if I lived in monotok and the fabled monotok monster or somthing that looked like It I would get a camera and a blinket and take pics and take that shit to the cops. And get some possible reward money, and a possible animal named after me.

That most certainly looks like a Chupacabra. I've heard the lore on these things, not of which is good. Basically what a Chupacabra is, is a Goat Sucker. It is responsible for many deaths of goats and other animals. This is very interesting.

It is NOT the Devil, the devil would look nothing like that. The Devil would look human, not anything creature like. It may be a jersey devil but it doesnt look anything like one. This certainly peaks my interest. I love cryptozoology. This looks like something straigt out of folk tales and lore. My guess... A chupacabra.

If your talking about me on this, I didn't mean two animals randomly passing each other, and then feel the passion and play Marvin Gayes "Let's Get It On." I meant that it could have ben scientist that did this as that's what I mainly think it is. A failed Scientific Experiment, is what I meant. Someone high in the government or just some scientist trying it out. That would explain why it "disapeared" so quick.

I did some reaserch and there is an animal disease testing place, Goverment funded I might add. That has come under fire in the recent past few years. A hand mouth disease broke out in the place, and some people said it was'nt woth the 16.5 mill budget a year the goverment was giving it.

Well back to the theory, Could it be a failed govt. experement? Maybe, wouldent suprise me that the U.s. govt. is covering up another thing that is'nt good for bush's image. There probibaly just trying to save there asses from peta and all the other tree hugers in the world.

I'm going to also agree with Monkey, It could be the chup'. It looks a hell of a lot like it. And it is summer, there have been sightings as far up as Maine. Could it be another govt. coverup. You bet your asses it could be.

Or could it just of decomposed from getting taken out by the high tide once again. It takes on average a large rat , to decompose totaly over a peroid of 5 days. If it was left out in the open for say a day or two. Could'nt flys get into it over a peroid of 1 or 2 days? And the magots eat it inside out on sea from getting carried out by high tide, and fly away leaving the bones to sink to a watery grave? Ladies and gents this is a case of, Who the hell knows. Unless theres a bunch out there dead washing ashore. I think we might of lost our one clue to breaking this case.

Hmm to me, it looks photoshopped. Notice around the head area, it seems slightly blurry and not quite "right".

And you can quote fox news, but remeber, Fox News is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who also owns The Sun and the News of the World, two tabloid newspapers who always get things wrong and have to submit apologies.

And you have to be careful about the things you read online, it can be quite easy to fabricate a news story to appear to come from a major news supplies.

Just read a little on this picture, apparently it was circulated by a friend of a friend, who happens to work for a viral marketing firm. Also, iot seemingly appeared just at the time when a tv show, Crypitds are real, was being shown.

Chupacabra's arent described as looking that way monkey, and are generally found in warmer climates.

I have no fucking idea what the fuck that thing is. I really think its fake, becuase if it was a NEW species, um, we wouldve heard more about it by now. There has been nothing since the day this photo surfaced, roughly two weeks ago. It would be a sceintific sensation were it a new species. While I think its entirely POSSIBLE for it to be something like that, if it WAS, you would think we'd of heard something else about it, and these pics. No one (interveiwed) seems to know anything about it.

What the fuck is that? Lol, like Sparky said it looks like it's sticking it's middle finger up which leads me to believe that it's a photo shopped picture. However, it still is intriguing, I'd love to find out what this creature is, looks like something out of lore and fairy tale...well, some corrupted as hell fairy tales. But like Monkey said it isn't the devil for sure, who's supposed to be able to take any form possible.

Whatever it is, it sure is ugly.

I was reading this the other day and typed it in on youtube to see what would come up. I saw some animal guy on fox news I think it was, he said he thought it was an oversized raccoon? lol.. He also said it couldn't be a turtle out of its shell because the spine of the turtle is attached to its shell or something like that. I guess it could be a decomposing dog, but its face really doesnt look like a dog to me..

This is the species Canis Photoshoppus without a shadow of a doubt. It is almost certainly a dead dog (I'd guess a boxer) which has been out at sea for a couple of months, hence why it is bloated. The mouth is one of the most obvious pieces of photoshopping I've seen this side of the photoshop disasters blog, as you can clearly see the editing. Notice also that the shadows in the mouth cavity are the opposite direction to the others, and its paws are extended. This is nothing but photoshopping, and not even good photoshopping.

Definately not the Devil though. I don't really believe in the whole heaven/god, hell/satan thing but I think if the Devil were to exist, he would take the form of a human as to not draw attention to him as something like this draws a bit of attention.

Seeings as pretty much everyon has commented on this, I should clear it up. No one ever speculated it could be the devil, and I never seriously thought it. I don't even believe in God/The Devil. The reason I titled it as such was because A) It looks evil so to speak. Stemming from the Ugly = Evil thoughts. and B) To draw attention to this. Something I think it did well at.

So to clarify, it isn't the devil. It's just a way to get attention.
