The Cruiserweight Championship (and its impact today)

Spidey Revivey

Porn is okay here long as it ain't dudes.
Let me set the record straight: I hate "fortune teller" threads. I dislike the whole idea of someone coming in and posting their fantasies just to say they started a post. I do not like when people claim to predict the unpredictable and I sure as hell will voice my opinion if their "what if?" is totally insane.

Now with that said, let me give a "what if?" scenario:

Let's say WWE feels like unifying yet another piece of hardware, because they've been so good at it so far. That's rather logical if you think about it, because the Intercontinental/U.S. Championships are representing the same thing, and so are the Heavyweight Titles. It's predictable in other words. By doing this WWE could bring back a championship of their choosing, or hell if I know make another belt.

Not saying they will bring it back, but of all the belts defunct right now I feel it is most likely that they would bring back the Cruiserweight Championship. Recently WWE has recieved a vast number of superstars that could fit the bill of a cruiserweight: small, agile, etc. and I personally believe it would be a good idea.

Now the question is this: Would bringing back the Cruiserweight Championship be a smart decision on the company, or is there really not enough stars for that particular division as of now?

(I apologize if this isn't the right place to start this post. The Cruiserweight Championship is still defunct so I thought this was the best place.)

EDIT: Just looked in the TRASH Forums and didn't realize how many CC topics have been going around. If the moderators feel it necessary to close this one, by all means go for it. Just by looking through the rubble I already feel this was a bad idea lol

No, I don't think so. The WWE has already realized that the better wrestlers now are at a smaller size than those of Cena, Orton, and others. Making a CW title could not would, but it could push Bryan, Bourne, Kaval, and others back.

While I do miss the division somewhat, I don't think it's necessary to bring it back. The smaller guys could have the same fueds over the US/IC or tag titles. Splintering the roster to have another distinct division would suck. It would just increase the redundency in certain title fueds.

this is a tough call. i do agree that if the major titles are unified so that we have just one of each; WHC, mid-card, Tag Team and Women's Titles, there would be room for another one to come in.

quite frankly, there's no need to have the European Title back, especially if the IC and US Titles are united. why bring back another mid-card title.

the Hardcore Title, although one of my favorites back in the day, has had its time. with the new PG Era and the focus of reducing high risks and chair shots, etc, this belt just doesn't make sense today. it'd be nice, but probably just not right now.

that, to me, only leaves the Cruiserweight Title as a good option to bring back. again, as stated earlier in my post and by the OP, there are other options, but this is the only good one.

i think it'd be a good addition to both brands to focus on some of these guys. Kaval, Chavo, Bourne, Yoshi, Gabriel, Mysterio. maybe even bring a few guys back to the roster to fill out this division. it'd be a bit more credible to me if Mysterio held this belt instead of the WHC, if only because Rey is not a heavyweight. and these matches and this kind of fighting style is enjoyable. so why not put Bourne in a good feud for a real title that he can compete for instead of randomly tagging him out and jobbing him in a story that doesn't make sense and adds no value to the show?

Here's a list of wrestlers that can and able to compete in WWE Intercontinental/United States or Tag Team or Cruiserweight Title Division.

Daniel Bryan
John Morrison
R-Truth
Tyson Kidd
Evan Bourne
Yoshi Tatsu
Mike Mizanin
Ted DiBiase Jr.
Jey Uso
Jimmy Uso
Primo Colon
Rey Mysterio
Kofi Kingston
Christian
Matt Hardy
JTG
C.M. Punk
Joey Mercury
Cody Rhodes
Chavo Guerrero
Trent Barreta
Caylen Croft
Curt Hawkins
Heath Slater
Justin Gabriel
Kaval

Now I may be a bit off with a few that could possible higher on the card. Some have already tried and lets just say it didn't work out that well. Still some of those guys can easily fight for the WWE Intercontinental/United States Title until they need to be brought back up to the Main Event scene. The others occasionally compete for tag team titles or nothing at all. A few names that I mention are from Next so after it's all over and done with where are some of those talents going to go? I believe the Cruiserweight Title is the best choice to bring back. The tag team is going to stay the way it is with a few teams be thrown together for the heck of it. Even going for the Tag Team Titlse the person that just say is holding the Cruiserweight Title still need people someone to face. Let see that the Hart Dynasty is currently is trying to get there belts back but while that happens Tyson Kidd should be able to face the Cruiserweight Champ to give the fans something to see. The Hart Dynasty isn't going to have a match every week as a team or depends on if they are in a feud with just a tag team. Look at Matt and Jeff Hardy!! somethimes they had single titles while facing the Tag Team Champs or in some kind of tag team match.

All I am saying is that they have enough talents to bring back a title so some talents will have a reason to fight or be in the WWE. Let's face it once the Unify titles of Intercontinental/United States happens there are going to be too many contenders to see who gets the shot of the title next. The Cruiserweight or something in the that nature is the best way to go. It'll make the fans happy.! By next year the brands is going to be a whole once again.

That leaves Raw (2 hrs), Smackdown (2 hrs), Superstar (1 hrs), ECW/Next* (1 hrs), and PPV (3 hrs).

That leaves UNIFY Title WWE/World Heavyweight Title, WWE Intercontinental/United States Title, WWE/World Tag Team Title, and WWE Women’s/Diva’s Title. That's three titles with this big of a roster. That's like looking at TNA Title picture but double the wrestlers for each title division. Once this happen there will need to bring another lower title into the mix for WWE.

I never had a problem with the European Title but the Cruiserweight Title just seems better. Another name for it but I have no idea what it could be like for an example a TV Title or something in those lines.

I vote the cruiserweight Title or something for the smaller talents to fight for because they deserve besides being jobbers all their career. I feel sorry but that's the way I see Chavo. I enjoy his work but I think WCW did a better job then WWE has done. That's my opinion!!
