The Chicago Code

It's Damn Real!

The undisputed, undefeated TNA &
Fox tends to pump out dramatic series like an Irish stereotype, most of which fail and end up cancelled in a short period, but every once in a while they hit one out of the park—Prison Break, 24, House and more—The Chicago Code is the most recent of these home runs IMO.

Not sure if anyone else is checking this out, but I'm really liking the approach they're taking on portraying internal police work in corrupt Chicago.

Easily one of the best drama's on television.

Any other fans?

I've actually gotten into this lately. Fox finally got around to putting up an On Demand channel and while dicking around on it I stumbled across this little gem. I've seen the commercials, but I usually avoid these fly by night drama series that come out every 4 minutes. However, if this one is able to sustain some viewers than I suspect that this one may have some legs.

The show is actually pretty damn good with a lot of high drama that carries into each episode as opposed to what usually happens with each episode just featuring a new case with minimal character development. Much better than the usual drivel that comes out every month.

Unfortunately, I can't watch it live. It comes on Monday, the one night of the week that good wrestling comes on. ;)

Meh. Parts of it are abrasively lame. Jennifer Beals has had some moments that just make me cringe (her throwing a fit in her office early in the season really got my eyes rolling) and the voice-overs can wear on you. Not really sure why I stuck with it after the first episode. I mean it's on, right? I also hate that the Gibbons storyline, easily the most interesting thing about the show and the arc tying everything together, was put on on the back burner for so long in the middle of the season. It didn't help that they let this slip into territory where it could live up to my initial impression that it was Random Cop Procedural X. This week's episode was comparatively dope though, with everything in the Gibbon's storyline coming to a head at once. It was one of those episodes where all the balls they were juggling seemed like they were going to fall, the sort of episode that made Ryan's The Shield so damn exciting. Too little too late though. When they had a chance to make that kind of strong impression early on, they fumbled the ball. They deserve the cancellation they're getting. I'll be eagerly watching the finale though and hoping for an hour of television that lives up to the promise of this week's episode.

This is a good show and I'm a little surprised that Fox is cancelling it. I agree that some of it is pretty lame but for the most part, it's pretty good and has really gotten good as of late.

I would not be totally shocked if another station bought this show and continued it?

TNT perhaps?
