The Bret Hart / Rock effect.

Dark Match Winner
Has anyone noticed that since the rock has become involved with the WWE again that his family (The Usos and Tamina) have seemed to be getting a little bit more exposure. Right after Rock came back this time around the USOS were given their new theme music and their great new entrance and now that we are getting closer to Wrestlemania it seems like Tamina is finally starting to finally get a push in the Diva division as well. Do you think this is all a coincidence or do you think that some of it may be by design.

The reason I bring up Bret Hart is because as soon as Bret was back on good terms with the WWE and started showing up on their shows The New Hart foundation won the tag team titles and were given a small push as well. Again do you think that was a coincidence or done by design as well.

I can easily see the USOS winning the tag team titles before or maybe in a Wrestlemania Dark match if the WWE actually remembers that the division exits and I can see Tamina doing the same IF and only IF Kharma is held off from coming back full time until after Wrestlemania.

Thoughts?

I didn't even notice, the Usos are naturally going to get a push and win the tag titles sooner or later as they're the only other team with Epico/Primo.

Tamina's being pushed because, well, she's pretty freaking awesome. When was the last time a diva performed a super kick on a regular basis? She's just a natural all round great diva ESPECIALLY seeing as she looks like she could kick some ass, unlike divas like Kelly Kelly who looks like she'd cry if she broke a nail...

Tamina and The Rock are not related lmao......

She is related to Jimmy Snuka (from Fiji Islands)

Rock is related to Afa and Sika (from Polonesian Islands aka Samoa)

Honestly, I think the Hart Foundation push when Bret Hart came back to WWE was their way of trying to use the presence of Bret Hart and the crowd reaction he would get, and channel it into building a couple stars that could stay around longer than Bret Hart ever would. It's a good idea too, not that it really paid off much.

And?

The Rock isn't really related to the Wild Samoans anyway. Peter Maivia and the Wild Samoans' father were simply close friends and considered each other "blood brothers", but weren't actually related. So, yeah... big hole in your argument there.

Also Tyson Kidd's not related to Bret, but people still consider him a member of the Hart Family, when really he's just another Benoit. And like with Tyson, Tamina and the Usos definitely grew up around each other as kids I would assume. I mean the Usos did say on their YT show that Snuka was often at their houses, and it's easy to assume Tamina was there too.

Even still, I would have to say that the effect only worked for Tyson & Natalya... and not really DH or even the Usos/Tamina. For starters, Bret was there to aid the Hart Dynasty in their quest and even further pushed for them to get in the title scene. The Usos and Tamina, on the other hand, were pretty much left high and dry by The Rock. Usos were still jobbers while Rock was around, and it wasn't until recently that they started making it on TV... and they've still been jobbing out. Tamina has worked for her spot on Smackdown, and really, it's time for WWE to pull the trigger on her instead of floating her around.

The term 'blood brothers' is a friggin' understatement.

Peter Maivia was like a god to the Samoans, no joke. You hear some stories from Patterson about how Afa and Sika as teenagers and 20-30 other Samoans would barge into the ring just because the High Chief was getting a beatdown, it makes you clear that their clan is very very tight.

So it is not far-fetched that The Rock could've put a word to management about pushing The Usos right. They always do look out for each other and going by The Rock's previous comments and interviews he is extremely proud and close with his Samoan roots.

The last reported wrestler to come out of the dungeon is Tyson Kidd. It would be foolish to refute if Hart may have asked for him to be more than babyface fodder.

Did it all help if their wrestling godfathers put in a word for them? Maybe not. But flippantly dismissing it would be wrong as well.

Plus, I love the Usos entrance and their work. I wish they were more than RKO victims.

Tyson Kidd has been dating Natalya for the best part of 11 years now.

Maybe not in the eyes of many is he a family member. But he may be someday, which is a lot closer than your Benoit theory.

Anytime a promotion wants a major star to come in and help they give that star certain privaleges, often allowing that performer's friends or relatives to get a push within the promotion, it's a concept as old as dirt. Same if a star performer, already on the roster, wants a friend or family member to get a look. For example

Hulk Hogan = Brutus Beefacke (sitting through Beefcake in WWE was bad enough, foisting him on us in WCW was painful)

Brett Hart = Owen Hart (at least Owen could wrestle and established himself as a solid performer & character) - Side note, did it surprise anyone when British Bulldog showed up in WCW at the same time Brett did ?

Rick Steiner = Scott Steiner (They did form a good tag team & Scott's singles career actually eclipsed his brother's, although he needed his brother to get him into WCW)

Ole Anderson/Ric Flair = Arn Anderson (Story goes Flair was the one who made Arn's transistion into the NWA happen. Arn, like Owen, proved to be a more than capable performer on his own)

Dusty Rhodes = Dustin Rhodes (Dustin's career actually flourished AFTER Dusty got him his break in WCW, when he went to WWE and created became Goldust, yes, it was a comedy character and not particularly serious, but he was a good performer, limited on the mic which Goldust covered for, and no doubt Goldust was successful)

I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt here; but, the phrase "just another Benoit" is an irresponsible comparison. I'm not trying to pretend he didn't exist like the WWE does. But, the fact is he is remembered in part for a horrible tragedy that he caused. You could have and should have used any of the many other wrestlers close, but not related, to the Hart family.
