The Battle of the Ladder Matches

So I have recently made a couple threads, comparing two wrestlers at a time based on there in ring work. In this series, I will be comparing two matches of the same genre at a time. In this one, I will post two ladder matches from the last couple of years for you guys to debate on which one was a better match. The two matches are Chris Jericho/HBK from No Mercy 08 and Jeff Hardy/Edge from Extreme Rules 09. Here are highlights of each match.

Which match had the better build up?

Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho.

Well that fued lasted for how long? Four months or so right? It started at backlash, after Michaels retired "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, when Batista was pissed at Michaels for that deed. Jericho hosted his Highlight Reel and basically got in the middle of it, becoming the special guest referee during that match. HBK "faked" a leg injury and won the match with sweet chin music out of no where. Then it got personal when Jericho through Michaels into one of the jeritrons, "injuring" his eye in the process.

Which match was less predictable?

Well I thought that that Shawn Michaels so win so i guess that match too. Edge vs Jeff hardy was predictable. Edge was saying how much history they have in ladder matches and said that Jeff has never beat Edge in a ladder match. I knew that Hardy was going to win but didnt expect Punk to cash in money in the bank afterwards.

Which match was more entertaining?

They were both entertaining. Edge and Hardy had alot of use of the ladder with their signature moves and had a great ending. Michaels and Jericho had them hitting eachother with the ladder and throwing it on eachother. I did enjoy Jericho hitting the lionsault on the ladder with Michaels under it. Proved that he would do anything to win the match. Also i hated that ending. Seems like every ladder match now days has someone hitting the other person over the head with the belt and knocking them down.

Which match is more memorable?

Edge vs Hardy.

It was Hardys last ladder match in the wwe and it also gave us the rise of Punk. i know it has nothing to do with that ladder match, but Punk winning the belt off of Hardy is why Punk is where he is today.

Which match was a better overall match?

Both were good matches but overall the better match would have to be Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho. It had great buildup and was just entertain to watch. I was at the edge of my seat during the whole match.

Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho had a better build up. These two work great together, and had one of the best feuds of all time.

I think Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho was less predictable because I didn't expect Jericho to win.

Both matches were amazing but I think Edge and Jeff Hardy was more entertaining.

Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho was more memorable to be because of how much I enjoy them feuding.

But, I think Hardy vs Edge was the better match overall.

HBK VS Jericho - It started after HBK had retired Flair.. and the build up was just great throughout the whole year...

Which match was less predictable?
I would have to say again HBK vs Jericho - Why? Because it was the end of their fued and I nver thought the heel would win, but I guess it was done so that Cena could return and defeat Jericho at Suvivor Series...

Which match was more entertaining?
They were both entertaining to me.. but i will give it to Hardy vs Edge.. Because of the fact that CM Punk cashed in his MitB breifcase for the second time in his career..

Which match is more memorable?
I would have to say HBK vs Jericho.. It was the whole feud that is memorable to me, that's why the match is will also be very well remembered..

Which match was a better overall match?
They were both a good!! I'm giving the edge to... HBK vs Jericho, there was just more drama in this match.. and thats won it!!
