Thank You, Eddie

Yah six years thats crazy ant believe its been that long since we lost him!!! What match do i remember most or what moment!! Probably the moment when him and Benoit cried in the ring together at WM20 each of them living their dream come true!! Anytime he lied cheated and stole it was gold no matter what he did was gold!! Hell of man wrestler and husband and father!! RIP EDDIE you will always be missed and never forgotten:worship:

Most vivid memory of Eddie is him facing Dean Malenko in WCW. What a great feud and series. I also remember him breaking his arm in his first WWF match (I think it was his first), and how bad I felt for him because he was making it to the big-time. And you can't forget the Lie, Cheat, and Steal gimmick. Great job by him!

I always thought it a bit coincidental that he died right after gaining full acceptance as a face- like he was teaming with Batista and nobody was sure if they could trust Eddie, until some PPV or something where he did something to confirm his turn. I wonder two things- where were they going with the storyline (was Eddie legitimately a face, or was it all a ploy?) and what would the fan reception have been like a couple months earlier when he was in full psycho heel mode...

RIP Eddie, you were one of the greatest.

That's an interesting point shuckyducky, there was discussion that Eddie Guerrero was going to defeat Randy Orton and Batista in a triple threat for the World Heavyweight Championship, at the time I believe Batista was working through an injury of some kind.

From what it sounds like I think the storyline had many directions it could have gone.

1) Eddie could have legitimately been on the up and up about his face turn and he was merely being placed into a triple threat with Orton and Batista, Batista could have dropped the title without actually being pinned and it could have come down between Orton and Guerrero which then could have parlayed into an Orton-Guerrero feud.

2) Eddie could have capitalized on his injured friend in the match and taken out Batista during the course of the match to show that he was still a heel all along.

And I am sure there are other angles I might not be touching on here, but those were the two that came to mind.

If I remember right I think even Stephanie McMahon said that Eddie was definitely on course for another World Title run, could be wrong though so don't quote me on any of this.
