Cena retaining is a forgone conclusion. The match at Hell In A Cell was harmless, but they can't rely on that feel good moment of Cena winning the gold after recovering from an injury again. Sandow failed in his attempt to cash-in, and WWE taking the WHC off of Cena after his triumphant return wouldn't make any sense. It's John Cena, but still, he needs more time as champion to reestablish the WHC as a prestigious main event world title.

The bigger question is, what's next for Del Rio after Survivor Series? He's spent a good hunk of 2013 in the WHC picture, but after two consecutive loses to Cena, I can't picture a scenario, where WWE reinserts Del Rio into the WHC picture as a legit challenger. The WWE Championship picture is out of the question, because there's no room for Del Rio in the corporate takeover storyline, and a heel Randy Orton is WWE Champion.

To be honest, I think Del Rio needs some time away from ANY world title pictures in WWE. Del Rio being world champion and chasing world titles is beyond the tiresome and exhausted point now, and I don't know about anyone else, but I'm beyond burnt out on Del Rio clogging up the WHC scene as a champion and challenger.

Cena beat Del Rio on the first attempt in his first match back after injury. There's no need for a rematch. Chuck Sandow & Ryback into the mix and you've then at least got the possibility that somebody could sneak a win.

First time in along time that WWE has both major championship matches featuring guys I try to forget exist everytime I watch WWE TV and then think not this guy again when there music hits. Big Show has been around too long and Im bored of him. Orton has had his time and his best years are long behind him. Cena is just never out of the main event and we have seen far too much, I wanted the 6 months without and was annoyed when he got healthy quickly. Alberto Del Rio the only major champion whos matches are my piss/snack breaks, I would rather watch Eva Marie than ADR.

I found Del Rio to be more entertaining on this past Smackdown than he's been in a while. Keeping the title off Del Rio for the time being has been a breath of fresh air for Del Rio, the World Title, and for the fan base.

I'm not someone who goes out of his way to bash Del Rio. He's a talented performer. I feel he's generally well suited to hold a world championship. But for now, he could use some character development.

In fictional writing, there are distinctions between round, flat, and static characters. Round characters are multi-dimensional and often times quite malleable. Static characters typically don't change, and if they happen to mimic flat character tendencies as well, they don't tend to be all that memorable. Del Rio would benefit from a character transition into a rounded character. It wouldn't be difficult. Del Rio has many potential layers to his character, it's just a question of whether or not WWE is committed enough to explore those dimensions.

I am guessing this will be the same match as the first with Del Rio working the arm the entire match getting some near falls, and Cena will overcome and retain the title. I think Cena needs more time with the belt, and I will be curious to see where this match places on the card. I am still holding out hope Cena can bring the World title out of the gutter. Cena retains here in what is a very obvious outcome.

My guess is he will be placed in a fued with Rey when and if he returns. With both midcard titles held my heels unless Del Rio turns face again i dont see him in that picture. Now once Face holds either the US or IC title i think he should feud with them at somepoint maybe winning it. But he needs to be out of the WHC title picture of a good long while. He has either been WHC or chasing it for all but a month and half this year assumeing he is out of the title picture in Dec. If we get Del Rio vs Cena at TLC then he would of been for the entire year save a week or two lol.

If you were to go back two years worth of PPVS this match is the most obvious one of the bunch. No way in hell does Cena lose this one. Cena beat ADR clean after coming back from a almost two month layoff. ADR works the arm works the arm gets some near falls Cena pops up hits the AA (Its still the FU IMO) and retains. Cena is the man to bring the WHC out of obscurity and bring prestige back to the title..

For me DOLPH ZIGGLER should come into the title picture...He should nt be wasted anymore...He should be brought back to fued with CENA....For DEL RIO...He can work in the MIDCARD..which will be best for him....

there is a 3 week time frame from Survivor Series to TLC. Del Rio will probably stay in the picture with Sandow added in the fray.

Cena pretty much said on Raw that he would make Del Rio tap at Survivor Series, so there you go - Cena takes this with the STFU. And since the PPV is in Cena's hometown, this will likely go on last. For all those hoping this will be the last match between the two, I don't see it happening, I see this ending in a Ladder Match at TLC. And the WWE have the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber afterwards to keep Del Rio busy, so that will give the WWE enough time to figure out who Del Rio can work with next.

This HAS to close the show. If the WWE want to make the World Heavyweight Championship matter again. Making John Cena hold the belt was a step in the right direction. The belt finally does feel like more than a glorified midcard belt now that they have the top guy in the federation holding it. Now the WWE needs to do the right thing and let this match close the show. The last time the World Heavyweight Championship closed a show was 3 years ago. They have never had a more (for lack of a better word) golden opportunity to rectify the issue regarding the lack of prestige this belt has.

With that being said.... John Cena is going to retain. He needs to hold the belt all the way until Wrestlemania if a unification is going to take place there. A lengthy reign by Cena is exactly what the big gold belt needs more than anything. Del Rio has provided Cena with an entertaining feud and I'm fine with it continuing into TLC, although the addition of someone like Sandow with it going into a triple threat could be cool. Regardless, the Survivor Series 2013 show needs to close with John Cena having retained the World Heavyweight Championship. That is what's truly going to be best for business.

DAGGER'S PREDICTION
John Cena retains the World Heavyweight Championship.

Cena wins this obviously. I really find it strange that they didn't add a gimmick to this match just to make it stand out. I know ADR/Cena will put on a good match but they could have given it something extra.

Survivor Series is in Cena's home town so perhaps he closes the show. I can't see Orton vs The Big Show closing so Cena is a viable option.
