So the wifey and I recently discovered this show, I had never heard of it up until two months ago but it seemed cool so we gave it a try and were interested enough in it after the first few episodes to keep going. The first season was a little boring but it got a lot better rather quickly. Now we are about halfway through the 150+ episodes still getting caught up to the new ones. It just keeps getting better and better the more we watch.

My favorite character so far is Castiel, who you might recognize as that guy from Ferbian's signature image. Azazel is another character who really caught my attention early on. I've also enjoyed the development of both the main characters Sam and Dean, looking forward to seeing what happens in the second half of the show (we are about to start season 5 of 8).

Anyone else like this show or have any thoughts you'd like to share on it?

There are a ton of spoilers in this show, please use spoiler tags if you are going to discuss an event in an episode that could potentially ruin the experience of the series for others....

Discuss! :)

I've seen every episode of the show and it's one of the few shows I watch every single week. The chemistry between the brothers is the best stuff on the show and once Cass joins the show, it only gets better with how well he fits in with the two of them. The stakes continue to be made bigger and better every season and the comedy episodes stay funny no matter what. This ranges from episodes where

They're on a sitcom complete with laugh track

to

A town being killed Looney Tunes style
.

This show is excellent and some of the stories are amazing. It does a great job at building over the season to a huge blowoff at the end (complete with the always awesome Carry On My Wayward Son). Great show and well worth checking out.

(complete with the always awesome Carry On My Wayward Son).
My favorite part. Beggining of every seasins ending episode and starting off new season with that song is just epic moments. :)

Good show though I think they becomed little stale. Love to watch them but my opinion is that they should end it with Lucifer and season 5 and that then it would be great show with really rounded story. Like this they just prolong it endlessly. Whats worse, I heard that they plan 10 seasons...

I love the video packages, the season 4 finale's opening video package with Carry On My Wayward Son in particular blew me way. I love that song and it makes the build even more epic when it is used. WWE and TNA should take some notes. ;)

That's exactly where I am at right now.

If Lucifer and Michael are already getting involved then how can they possibly top that, unless they kill Lucifer and they go into a different storyline other than demon killing?

We've been doing a marathon daily, about 4 episodes per day on average once I get home from work. Should be fully caught up by next month or so.... Castiel continues to impress me more each time he appears, by far my favorite character! I also laughed a lot at the one where:

The guy writing their books is revealed to be a prophet and he akwardly stands up to a demon stating "I am the prophet Chuck!" when he got protected by the archangel. Funny stuff, as well as Dean sitting in a laundry room reading a book about him sitting in the laundry room reading a book about himself finishing all of Sam's lines for him via the book.

Someone did unfortunately spoil a certain character's loyalty when I was still in season 3, so I do hope everyone will rely on spoiler tags in here for the bigger events.

My friend: "Hey did you get to the part where (see spoiler tag) yet?

Me: No.... Thanks for ruining that though.

Ruby tricking Sam into letting Lucifer out.

Really though, 10 seasons? I can't fathom how they won't run out of ideas. Awesome show so far though and I am anticipating what happens next, few shows keep me coming back for more like this one does.

I am a huge fan of Supernatural. I own the 7 seasons that are out on DVD and have seen all of 8 that's been on so far. I enjoy it so much I recently got my girlfriend to watch it and now shes a fan too.

Jensen and Jared the two guys that play Sam and Dean are really good actors and with all the behind scenes features and stuff they put out as well as gag reels and such you can tell everyone involved in the production of the show really enjoy making it as well.

As far as the story goes Season 1 does start of slow like you said. But it does pick up and seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 make an unbelievable good story and it's diffidently worth watching if you've never seen it before and your into both drama of a story and monsters/demons/lore/etc.

Season 6 takes the show in a whole new direction though with how the story is. 7 and 8 go with the same route as 6, which make me believe if it does go 10 seasons 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 will flow together nicely the way the first 5 seasons did.

Can't wait till season 8 comes back from there mid season break it's going to be very good and I think with 2 more seasons Supernatural will feel very complete and be something I'll keep watching years after it's gone.

I'm watching season 3 on Netflix as I type this. The show is pretty good. It doesn't blow my mind, but it's entertaining. The storylines so far are pretty thought out, and I enjoy Dean. Dean is by far my favorite because he's absolutely hilarious. Sam is kind of boring. Then again, I'm an older brother, so I'm probably a little biased. Coincidentally enough, my younger brother is named Sam.

But getting back on topic, I enjoy the humor of the show a lot more than the horror. The show comes off as kind of cheesy in my opinion, but that's actually part of it's charm. If it was completely serious, it would be a pretty lame show. I also like how they incorporate rock music into the show, being that I'm a huge fan of the genre. All in all, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the show.

Oh, youll see(if you havent allready). Season 6 is kinda boring but it picks up at the end(with
Castiel as one of the seasons regulars and plot points involving him and perhaps best season finale ending in the series
), season 7 is interesting but could be better if they heavilly continued what they started in season 6 instead of droping some stuff and i still wait to see what are they building with this one. As I said, they are still interesting, but still cant top that season 5 and the fealing that it should just end there...

Btw about
prophet Chuck. It is heavily speculated by the fans that he was actually the God. :)

Season 6 sucked honestly, now that I have made my way through it and a couple of episodes into the 7th season. Granted it had a tough act to follow in season 5, but it just ended up feeling like such a letdown when I got through all of it. The finale was great though. Castiel remained my favorite character by a landslide after seeing that.

I like season 7 far more than season 6, so far. The new characters introduced during that season are so much more interesting than the crap that went in on season 6. See spoiler for more detail.

The whole thing with the grandfather and purgatory got boring and I never quite found a reason to care, I dislike Crowley too. Can they just get rid of him already? He's rather annoying. The Leviathans, on the other hand, have my attention completely. Those are some badass villains. Not quite Lucifer, but I like them and what I've seen so far in the 7th season.

Still watching a couple of episodes per day, I should be fully caught up in a few weeks.

Definitely one of my all time favorite shows no doubt. Dean Winchester is one of my favorite characters in any form of media, he is just amazing. I like the first 5 seasons of the show much more than season 6 and 7 and what I have seen of 8 thus far. I just think that season 5 could have been the end of the show and I would have been perfectly happy with that. Everything wrapped up so perfectly and I I feel it was the best ending the show could have had.

Hey look, it's this thread!

I finally FINALLY got fully caught up to the episodes from the new season so it's time for a bump. It took far longer to catch up than I anticipated as I was watching it with the wifey and there was a significant amount of time when neither of us were in the mood to watch more. I blame season 6. The leviathans were awesome in season 7 but it took some convincing to keep her watching. We're caught up to the new episodes now. Season 8 wasn't bad although I am SO tired of Crowley! I liked Abaddon though.

Metatron's true plans for Castiel's trials? Did NOT see that coming!

Now we are watching season 9.

I discovered this show via the reruns on TNT. Used to know it came on. But never gave it a chance until I watched the re runs during the day. Went out and grapped the seasons. Been hooked ever since. My favorite character is Cass. Right behind Cass is Dean. It's been cool watching the progression of the brothers as they keep getting older. I'm glad it's coming back for another season after this one concludes

Supernatural is one of my favorite current shows. It has great action, smart acting, and hilarious dialogue! Dean Winchester probably has the greatest and most funny pop culture references on TV. The only thing I don't like about the show here lately is that they keep doing the whole yo-yo thing with Sam & Dean. One season they are getting along and the next they are at odds with each other. I also HATED that they killed off the Bobby Singer character. He was a great ally for the Winchesters and added a lot to the show. They just had an episode that will serve for the spin-off show of Supernatural called "Supernatural: Bloodlines". That makes me hopeful that Supernatural will be around for a little longer because usually good shows get cancelled.
