Summerslam 2002 vs Summerslam 2003

Big quetion which summerslam was the best? Both full with great matches that stole the show for both PPVs

I personally believe HHH, HBK stole the show with there street fight as well as rock vs brock the top 2 matches of the night.

-Elimination chamber: HHH vs Goldberg vs Y2J vs Kevin Nash vs HBK vs Randy orton

I think the top two of the night were Lesner and angle obviously because every time these two put on a match it was spectacular. And the elimination chamber match which was one of the best ones i think right behind survivor series 02.

But which summerslam do u think was the best IMO i think 02 was the best it was possibly the greatest summerslam card in history in my opinion. Gimme ur thought..

I did appreciate SummerSlam 2002 a lot more than 2003 for a few reasons.

SummerSlam 2002 saw the rise of Brock Lesnar as THE man in the WWE and an absolutely incredible street fight between HHH and HBK. One of the best matches in Summerslam history, if not the best. Also the mid card matches were entertaining. Mysterio vs Angle, the little RAW vs SmackDown feud with Benoit and RVD.

I think Summerslam 2003 was a bit overhyped. The only match that delivered was Lesnar vs Angle cause they can put on great matches with each other. The Elimination Chamber was too short and deliver in the way that it did. I have no problem with how it ended, it was just compared to other EC Matches, this one is far down on the list.

I take SS 02 as the better overall event, but not as the best Summerslam EVER. I don't about all that. I think Summerslam 2000 is the best IMO. But anyway, while Summerslam 2003, I think, had a more solid lineup, 2002 delivered in a big way.

Ah so I see I have , motivated someone to do to something similar to me..... I AM SUCH AN INSPIRATION!!!

Anyway it is pretty obvious that such a great event such as Summerslam 2002 beats a mediocre event like the 03 edition. The second worst 4th least enjoyable elimination chamber for me brought 2003 down. Comparing it to the legendary 02 edition makes for a no brainer. Summerslam 2002 wins for Brocky vs Rocky, Shawn and epic jeans vs Triple H, and Rey Mysterio vs Kurt Angle.

I've always thought Rey vs Angle at Summerslam 2002 was one of the most underrated matches ever. It's only about ten minutes long, but the pace is unbelievable. Kurt won by submission and still made Rey look like a million bucks. Great, great match.

The Chamber match did NOT have one of the weakest endings ever kid. Evolution protects HHH. Flair slips the sledgehammer into the ring for HHH to blast a spear-attempting Goldberg in the head. Boom game over. What's weak about that? NOTHING.

It's really hard to pick between the 2 because as OP stated they both had decent cards. I'm more prone to 03 though because the EC was there, the Fatal 4 way was awesome and of course..Stephanie McMahon running out *drools* haha. And Lesnar vs. Angle I mean does that really need any explanation? Watching Vinnie Mac get Angle slammed thru a chair- Priceless.

I personally thought 2003 had the better Summerslam on the whole.
The fatal four way was just epic. I much preferred the 2003 chamber match to the 2002 one and also Kurt/Lesnar was awesome.

2003 felt better to me and still does. I remember feeling rather let down by the 2002 event, particularly after I felt that 2000 and 2001 editions had been really good. But having said that, there is no denying the HHH/HBK match and I also thoughroughly enjoyed RVD/Benoit, but from memory, Brock vs Rock bored me.

So I vote 2003!

I would have to go with SummerSlam 2002 by a long shot. The card was stacked, and was topped off by the classic street fight between HHH and HBK. 2002 is one of the greatest, if not THE greatest SummerSlam ever.

The main event in 2003 is one of the weakest main events I've seen for a big four PPV. I know a lot of people liked it, but that chamber match was pretty bad imo. HHH hardly wrestled and just sat in the corner for most of the match, Nash didn't do much and Goldberg dominated people in boring fashion. HBK and Jericho did their best to make it good but it wasn't enough.

SummerSlam 2002 was awesome but I would have to say SummerSlam 2003 because of the Elimination Chamber match.
