Sugar Shane Mosley - End of the Road

Getting Noticed By Management
Today it was announced that multi time 3 division champion and legend of the sweet science, Sugar Shane Mosley has officially retired from the sport of Boxing. Shane sent out a message on Facebook thanking his fans for all their support and giving his official goodbye to in ring competition. It's a sad day in boxing to see such a great legend of the ring go away, but everyone's time must come.

Mosley's retirement comes after a recent loss to upcoming fighter Saul "Canello" Alvarez in a 12 round bout where "Sugar" gave the fans one last valiant performance, testing the 21 yr old Alvarez and displaying the heart of a champion, and even a few flashes of the old Sugar Shane many fans like myself remember. His previous fights also ended in defeat against the two top P4P fighters in the world Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., which showed once again, his willingness to always fight the best competition and give it his all in trying.

Shane's last great win came in 2007 against dangerous puncher and iron jawed Antonio Margarito in a fight which saw Shane TKO Margarito in the 9th round after giving one of the greatest performances of his career at the age of 37. Shane finishes his Hall of Fame career with a final record of 46-8-1 with 39 Knockouts, and was never knocked out through his entire career which many of the greats can not say. Mosley's most notable performances of his career came against "The Golden Boy" Oscar De La Hoya in 2 fights which Shane won at the height of his career. Mosley fought all the best through his career and always embodied what it meant to be a champion both inside and outside the ring. It's been a true privilege to watch his career and be a fan of one one of the best fighters of this era or any other, and this fan at least hangs his head in dismay as the sun sets on Sugar Shane's legendary career.
