Sting v. Flair One More Time: It's Bound to Happen...

In a word. NO

Ric Flair needs to be kept as far away from the ring as fucking possible now. The man is a wreck, stutters his way through promos that make absolutely no fucking sense, seems to enjoy slicing himself open every week and CANNOT, I repeat, CANNOT wrestle a match to television standard any more.

He needs to call it a day, and should have done after his WM send-off match. I feel sorry for him every time he comes out, repeating lines about "Space Mountain" that are about 20 years old. He is going to end up being remembered as this pathetic old man who looks awful, bleeds every night and that is a shame.

The man is a legend and if he needs money he should ring up Vince and beg to be allowed to return to WWE in a non-wrestling capacity, as an ambassador or something but please Ric, stay out of the ring. You will seriously hurt yourself if you keep going, and you are embarassing yourself.

Sting can still go, granted not as well as in his prime but with the right guy (Kurt Angle for example) he could still go. I don't mind seeing Sting with the belt and enjoy his title matches, but I would not watch one against Flair. Not a chance

Having 62 year old Ric Flair in a title match looking and performing as he does now would be an embarrasment for wrestling. I know Lawler wrestled for the title in WWE the other week, but he looks 10x better than Flair and can perform much better than Flair too.

TNA DO NOT MAKE THIS MATCH, NOONE WANTS TO SEE IT

PLEASE

Let's not bring age into this. Ricky Steamboat is just as old as Flair and the man can still wrestle well. We're talking more about durability and stamina. Maybe Sting vs. Ric Flair would be great for nostalgia sake, and the history of wrestling in four straight decades, but how great would the match be? We've seen Flair's past few matches; they mostly involve chops, back-drops and wooing. Sting we know can go and pull off the moves he used to. I'm afraid their match, while it would have the drama that Sting and Flair can create simply by their presence, technically would just be a little sad, as it would only be a shell of their past matches.

In addition, guys like Roddy Piper and Jimmy Snuka, and Flair all scare me in the ring. I watch them and I worry that their bodies just aren't going to hold up. Flair baldes and bleeds like crazy, and I don't care how old a man is, blading is an outdated act that takes a little of Flair's life everytime. He doesn't need to do it, but he know that if he wrestles Sting he's going to blade and we're all going to watch Ric Flair break down more and more.

To answer the question, yes, I wouldn't mind watching Sting vs. Ric Flair, even if it were at a PPV, but it wouldn't be a great match like they used to have, and I'd worry about Flair breaking down in the ring to the point where I couldn't enjoy the match properly.

Personally I agree with everyone on here it should not be done but it probably will be done and it will be done much sooner than we think.

I think it could be pulled off legitimately at a PPV after Sting drops the title. I can see Flair costing him the title in the near future to say Anderson or Hardy which will set this up. It could be played out for a while of Flair taunting Sting every week and finally Sting can't take it anymore. Finally resulting in a PPV match. It should also be somewhere where they are not in Orlando to draw a bigger crowd and it should be hyped pretty well also. It should not main event the PPV maybe be the middle of the card between a MCMG match and a AJ Styles match would be good so people could see 2 good matches one before and after so its not two bad.

The match will not be a match of the ages or very good but neither was Bret/VKM either. I would watch it if it was done properly but we all know Russo writes bassackwards anyways.

Thank God! Either you actually read my first post, or just post some great posts. I asked "HOW" you think the match should be set up. You posted this,. and I appreciate that. Nobody else seems to have seen that. I guess it's more productive to argue if the match should or should not happen.:worship:

On a side note: The match "WILL" happen. It has almost already been set up. If you think back a bit on Impact!, in one of the more coherent parts of storyline, Sting and Kevin Nash gave Flair a "Pass" for screwing with them when Fortune came out and beat the Hell out of him and Nash. He let Flair know that they would be meeting again in the near future. This will happen, it's just going to be interesting to see if this prior interaction will even be acknowledged or if they will start over again. Flair being Flair, he's going to want to get back at Sting for embarrassing him on television. Well, that is as long as TNA "Creative", or whatever the Hell they call themselves these days, keeps going back and checking their notes.
