Stephanie and Heyman are the top mic workers in the WWE

Heyman has been a genius on the mic for 20+ years. He's incredible. He's so good that they basically had him talking on the mic as the build to Lesnar/Taker. I'm saying nothing new here, Heyman's genius is pretty much accepted as fact by most.

But Stephanie? She had her moments in the attitude era. Had her moments as GM of Smackdown. And had her occasional moments in her sporadic returns after that. But she was never THIS good!

Now? She's FANTASTIC. She draws incredible heat, gets herself over as a despicable character who is going to be really, really hard to get the best of......and yet she still manages to do this not only without burying talent, but she actually builds them up and gets them over even more! She's making Bryan better! She plays off him well, and usually gets herself over AND gets him over. Nobody else is doing that anymore. She deserves her props.

Stephanie is best when being a heel on her own. When paired with HHH, she comes across as annoyingly whiny and bitchy. By herself, she seems less bitchy and more conniving. And she does that well.

Agreed, good point. Her best moments on the mic in 2013-14 have come without HHH.

And I strongly feel that she's better than HHH. Whenever she's out there by herself, she kills it. HHH can put on some good promos, but he hasn't knocked it out of the park like her.

I'm glad Heyman and Stephanie are around, because none of the wrestlers are on that level. Hopefully with experience some of them can get there.

You think Lana could be like a female Paul Heyman? It's been a while where there's been a legit heel female manager that wasn't Vickie Guerrero.

Female Paul Heyman? No, because that would make her basically the best female manager ever and that's a long way off.

She's off to a good start. She's doing really well with what they've given her so far, and she has a good presence and she looks incredible. We'll see what happens. I hope she makes it, I'm a fan so far.

She's got a long way to go. We've seen the female valet in a business suit countless times. they're usually always blonde and nice looking. she's got a big mountain to climb. not saying she can't do it, but we'll have to see.

I really have noticed that lately. So many of these non-competitor characters are actually the best on the mic. Even during one of HHH's recent promos I had to give him credit for being one of the few guys who really sounds believable. Good enough on the mic that I don't realize I'm watching a fictional character speak about a fictional feud. Steph does indeed do a good job too. And of course Heyman is great.

You know, the sad part is that I don't see how many people can argue against this. While Heyman is great and Steff is good too, I think that the E is lacking Mic workers in a big way right now. Maybe that is why I am bored as hell by most of the product. Outside of the Shield, Wyatt, and Steff I don't care what any of them say bc it just comes across terribly. With Heyman, I am just not into Cesaro and know I won't see Lesnar for months so I don't really pay attention to him right now. I long for the days when they had multiple strong Mic performers in feuds with one another. The old Rock and Jericho mic wars were some of my favorite. The current talent, if we have to call them talented, has a long way to go to approach the classics.

You cannot even put Stephanie McMahon in the same category as Paul Heyman. Heyman is a genius on the mic and his promos are epic[except the ones where he's talking about Lesnar breaking the streak a million times]. Heyman gets his point across well and does a great job selling the face more than Stephanie does. The prime example is Steph's role in Bryan/HHH. She does a horrible job of putting over Bryan and she comes off as being a spoiled brat, which I know is the intended effect. Still, she comes off more whiny and irritating than being a great heel character. To be honest, I think Stephanie McMahon is the WWE equivalent of Dixie Carter. She is awful at acting and is just a major irritation on screen as a character and she adds nothing to the show. The only reason she is even included on the show is because her last name happens to be MCMAHON.

Steph is great and is a heat magnet but is not in the class of Heyman. I also rank Triple H, Cena, Bray, Zeb and, while he is still employed, Punk higher in terms of promos. That doesn't mean Stephanie isn't fantastic at what she does.

Heyman is obvious. He can get people to hate him and the person he is representing. His promo in Chicago before Mania as well the one after WM30 were two outstanding performances. Ryback and Axel both failed but his work with Punk and Lesnar have been the best managerial work since the 90's.

Cena, Bray, Punk are obvious. Triple H is doing a similar role but he does it better. Bearing in mind he is/was a popular wrestler; he has to perform at an even higher standard. His constant belittling of Bryan made the fans want to give their money to see him get his comeuppance which is the ultimate goal for a pro wrestling heel.

Steph is cutting some of the best Authority heel promos in the last 15 years right now. Her character is perfect, and her work with Daniel Bryan is basically unmatched in quite some time.

Stephanie is not on Heyman's level yet. But looking at her improvement on the mic from her Billion Dollar Princess years to her current Authority figure role, who's to say she's not getting there?

Let's not pretend eggs is apples here...

Steph HAS improved a lot, but is not in the top 5 mic workers in the WWE at the present time.

Heyman is up there for sure, however Cena last night showed he does still have it and there has never been a promo which said so little but was soooo creepy as Bray laughing with that child on his knee. Like it or not, those are your top 3, right now.

Bad News Barrett is very quickly rising to a level. While not on Heyman or Cena's yet he could very quickly get there with sustained mic time. It's said this whole push came from them letting him on the mic at the HOF for 30 seconds and him knocking it out of the park but even back in the Nexus he was up there...

The 5th is close and Steph is near but Zeb does a immense job for what he does which is basically portraying a racist character without being accused of being so.

Steph with a few more weeks will be up there, but she has improved quickly rather than a sustained growth.

Someone mentioned Lana and it is interesting that she is basically portraying Drago's wife from Rocky 4... it's a better version in that she is perhaps hotter than Brigette Neilsen was but it's a gimmick that hasn't been seen since that movie, so people are buying into it as new. Fair play, but she'd have to show real "fire"... think when Neilsen was defending Drago from being called a killer etc... if she can do THAT side of it... then yes she could be very good indeed.

What do people mean "Steph is getting better?" Steph has always been good on the mic, maybe not great, but she has always been able to do her job and do it well. Hell one of the only reasons HHH was so over as a heel in the early 2000's was because Steph was there generating massive heat on the mic. Whether it be screaming at the crowd, being disingenuous like she was last night, or playing the "Billion Dollar Princess" she has ALWAYS been able to generate some heavy heat from the crowd.

Paul Heyman is 1 in a million. Only other manager that can match Paul Heyman on the mic at his best would probably be Bobby Heenan. But I agree that Steph may be second or third behind Heyman in the WWE today because she is arguably the most hated person on the roster right now and she has done it with basically nothing but her promos.

Eh, Steph isn't that bad. Just not that good. She's at her best when she's the b!tchy, spoiled princess who doesn't like people insulting her or questioning her authority. Heyman is far and away a better mic worker. Who else saw his promo last night? Gold.

Stephanie ???? No way. Calling her a top mic worker is a joke.

Yes that's why she's probably the person in the history of the WWE who made the most promos on TV in the past 20 years.
Because she's bad, she's a joke.
She's not good. They put her there because it's in her contract, she has 2 be there.

Bullshit. The ones that are not recognizing that she's an amazing talent on the mic and she's getting better and better are jokes.

You can hate her, that's your call, but denying her talents because of your hatred is dishonest.

First of all, Stephanie started out in 1999. She's been in the WWE for the past 15 years. Somehow you decided to chuck in 5 extra years into her career. Secondly, I'm not denying her talents. She'd work a great promo, I can admit that. Although labeling her a "Top Mic Worker" right next to Paul Heyman is seriously crossing the line. Don't misconstrue this for hatred. This is nothing more than an observational point of view. Based on her personal evolution in the WWE since her debut, she hasn't consistently delivered great promos and has been gradually declining in the span of 15 years. It has gotten to a point of being bracketed to mediocrity. Sorry but this is how I feel.

Don't know where I say Stephanie has been in WWE for 20 years. I can say Gretzky is best guy who scored the most goals in the past 100 years. I know he wasn't born in 1914, still doesn't change the fact.

I don't think she's as good as Heyman, not the point, she's one of the best in WWE today, yes she his, she gets one of the biggest reaction night after night, there's no denying that.
