Statistically Speaking: Analyzing the WWE in 2012

Con T.

Yaz ain't enough, I need Fluttershy
So, I got really, really bored today, and decided that I was going to review the year in 2012 for the WWE. This is taken from a combination of sources, but mainly from The Wrestling Observer, and TheHistoryofWWE.com.

A couple of things that I want to clarify ahead of time;

1. It's possible that there were some matches missing. This is a collective report from house show results, Monday Night Raw, Smackdown, Main Event, Saturday Morning Slam, and Pay Per View Events, and includes dark matches as best as possible.

2. Where people had more than one identity (El Local=Ricardo Rodriguez, Skip Sheffield = Ryback), I combined them. If you see Ryback, assume that there were probably some matches that he had as Skip Sheffield that affect his win/loss percentage. I believe he's the only notable character that went through massive a name change mid year.

3. Numbers are rounded, when necessary. No way I'm writing 90.52% and the like for wrestlers. When draws occur, consider it a thrown out match; a draw doesn't count for, or against the win percentage you see on the right.

4. For frivolous purposes, I also included when a wrestler won a battle royal.

That is all for this post. Later on, if anyone would like, I'll post a breakdown of the "Major Feuds" of 2012, and who won how many matches in these feuds, and a week by week breakdown of the ratings. If I can, I'll post the gates and attendance of each show, if anyone wants.

Wow. Good thread man. I lol'd @ the miz and zigglers low win percentage. Could you add more stats to this like attendances, feud wins and losses? A+ thread by the way.

Wow...I've long said KB is the undisputed winner of the biggest wrestling loser but this type of thread puts you in the running for second place. ;)

It'd be interesting to compare these numbers to television only (including PPV). My guess is you'd have many of the top guys come closer to 50% than they are now.

Great thread man. Enjoyed reading it. Cena at 92% and Sheamus at 91% was as expected. Nothing new under the sun there.

What did surprise me however was Khali at 77% win... AND Super-Marella at 73% win. Oh boy...

LOL at Cody with 32% win. Jobbing much?

PS! Still want you to change that sig.

Brodus Clay won the 3rd most matches in WWE this year? I picked a good year to skip.

Yeah, the only losses that I tracked were:

6/25/2012 Big Show b Brodus Clay
8/20/2012 Damien Sandow b Brodus Clay
10/1/2012 Non-title: Antonio Cesaro b Brodus Clay
10/15/2012 Alberto Del Rio b Brodus Clay
10/16/2012 Heath Slater b Brodus Clay
11/5/2012 Wade Barrett b Brodus Clay
11/19/2012 Non-title: Antonio Cesaro b Brodus Clay
12/4/2012 Heath Slater & Jinder Mahal & Drew McIntyre b Usos & Brodus Clay

Wins via DQ/draws:
4/16/2012 Brodus Clay b Dolph Ziggler-DQ
6/22/2012 Brodus Clay b David Otunga-DQ
9/18/2012 Brodus Clay b Heath Slater-DQ
9/24/2012 Brodus Clay NC Tensai

Everything besides that was a victory for Brodus Clay. Which really tells you a lot about how frightened WWE is to let their faces lose. That'll be very apparent, when I post the major feuds stat, which should be in a bit
