Stamboli Returns To WWE As 'The Unknown'

LadyFranchise

The H.B.I.C
The superstar that faced Chavo Guerrero at this week’s SmackDown tapings that worked under the name of the “unknown wrestler” was Johnny Stamboli.

This is going to be interesting. I remember watching Johnny Stamboli as "The Bull" when he teamed up with Big Vito. I don't remember how his wrestling skills were but I remember them being somewhat decent.

Anyways....Discuss

He was also in the FBI with Nunzio and Chuck Palumbo. Maybe they will reform and also add in Santino Marella. But also don't forget it was only a tryout/dark match so it might not come to anything. Just think if they would've kept Trinity, Vito and Tony Mamaluke and put in the faction together. They would've been the top dogs in WWE, well except for the undefeatable Cena, the big nosed H and the roided up Batista.

Don't forget about good ol' Satino Marilla. It looks like right now the WWE doesn't have anything for him except the whole Maria thing. Him being in FBI could have put him over somewhat. They TOTALLY underused Trinity though. I've seen her wrestle in a strecther match. Girl got skillz.

I though 'The Unknown' was Sheamus O'Shaunessy, who looks absolutly useless btw. But if not, I thought some of Stamboli's in ring work was pretty good, and I would be happy for the FBI to come back, I always enjoyed them

You know what? Some bastard gave me an infraction a month ago when I made a post saying that they probably would end up putting Santino Marella in the FBI. I mean hey, it's a natural fit. But as far as Stamboli goes, I don't think that he should have been let go in the first place. The guy has a killer build, could high fly with the cruiserweights, and had pretty good mat skills. He also had the trademark powerplant punch. For those fo you who may not be familiar with what this is, it's a well sold punch that has a high smack to make it almost look like you actually clocked the guy. It emphasises a loud smack rather than a foot stomp. It seems like many of the guys who came up in WCW's power plant possess this (Jindrak, Palumbo, Stamboli, etc) It almost makes me wish that WCW would hire Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker and Paul Orndorff just to teach guys how to throw these great looking punches. Every time I think of Johnny The Bull, I remember the match that he had with Terry Funk where he broke his pelvic bone. The kid still limped his way through the rest of the match to win it, and looked pretty good doing so. I guess not everybody can just check out of a match before the end and be helped to the back by a gang of refs (hint hint Trips). lol

Hey, i don't know if you guys noticed this, but in the smackdown roster section, king something from 300 is listed. I just think its weird that the unknown did a tryout for smackdown while dressed in a gladiator costume. Coincidence? We'll see.
