Spoilers for the next 2 months

The New Generation

Dark Match Winner
I have always been fascinated by my psycological stand point on spoilers. If I see spoilers for the weeks Smackdown, I will not read the whole thing, but find out if anything big happend on the show that will want to make me tune in.

For NXT, I will read the results and spoilers, in Canada we get it 2 days later so results are spoilers, and will base the results on whether or not I want to watch the show.

For Raw, incase of a pre-taped event or taping the show to watch another day, I will avoid seeing any results and hope that I don't accedentally read something.

If I hear a possible spoiler regarding the future of the company or a possible superstar return, like most people I will click it because of curiosity.

I have a bunch of different views on spoilers, and so do many other people I know. So my question is, if you had spoilers for the next 2 months of all WWE TV, would you read it? Would you just see what the matchups are? Would you only want to know about huge spoilers? Would you still watch the shows on a consistant basis knowing the results and spoilers for the shows?

Can't wait to see your opinions.

I don't read spoilers, I hate knowing what is going to happen before I watch the program. It takes the fun out of it for me. It ruins it to an extent. You already know what's going to happen, so why watch it? I'd rather be surprised that Stone Cold or The Rock show up on Raw and I didn't know about it, it would be more exciting. Spoilers and the IWC have killed the mystery and mystique of wrestling.

I'll gladly read them and take the next two months off from wrestling.

I probably should explain further. See I'm one of the few wrestling fans that actually watches to see wrestling matches. And since I don't get SmackDown! where I live, I don't get to see any wrestling matches. In fact, Superstars have become my favourite due to the lack of non-wrestling segments. Now if the spoilers said Chris Jericho or Edge were to get in the ring then I would have to tune in.

I'm a spoiler ****e, I'll admit it. Even if I'm going to watch the episode 2 hours later, I'll probably give in and read the event. And I almost always end up watching regardless of what I read, good or bad. It's almost like an addiction to be honest. Oh, I should probably explain that I don't actually watch Raw until Tuesday so I can download the episode and watch it commercial-free. So, reading the results, to me, is considered spoilers. I don't have the time to watch Smackdown so I generally will read their spoilers every week the minute they come out on WZ.

I will kinda quickly go over them. Not getting to much detail on the promos and just who won what matches. Something always catches my eye so if I were given 2 months of spoilers I'm sure I would still end up watching.

I'm totally with Spiff on this one, spoilers are a bane on the world of whatever they're spoiling.

The only times I read them are after i've watched a show, so I can see if the review thought a particular segment was as good or bad as I thought it was. I think if i read the spoliers and wasn't too enthralled I wouldn't bother tuning in.

Mind you - we have a wonderful thing in england called sky+. Since the wwe shows are on at stupid o-clock in the morning here, we just tape em and whizzle through the adverts - so it only takes about 40 mins to watch it.

(Incidentally, is that amount of adverts normal for american programming? Here, we have several main channels that are advert free, and the other channels have generally at least, AT LEAST, 15 mins between breaks, often longer...)

Balls!

I avoid spoilers as much as possible. I live in Hawaii, so by the time the east coast feed of Raw is over, it is only 5 pm, so I don't check wrestling sites too often in the afternoon on a Monday. I use to read the spoilers all the time, but then realized that I didn't enjoy the shows as a fan anymore. I was just watching as a mark. I actually enjoy wrestling much more not knowing. Just me though, I've seen both sides of it.

I try to avoid them for the most part. But if it is some huge rumor floating around, my curiosity definitely gets to me and I'll have to read!!

I avoid spoilers like the plague. This is not just for wrestling though, but for movies, books, pretty much everything recently. I like to be surprised, seeing spoilers rarely leaves room for that. Sure you can see a cool spot here and there that wasnt explained fully, but most of the fun is sucked out of it via spoilers, so I just choose to not read them.

The only time I will read spoiler is if I'm for sure that I won't be able to watch the show. If not, I can't stand spoilers. They ruin the excite b/c I know exactly what will happen. The only time spoilers are actually good is if it's something you want to see such as Foley winning the WWF title. I tend to try avoid spoilers on pretty much anything like endings to movies or books. It makes the experience of actually watching or reading something for the first time a lot more enjoyable to me.

First of all, Balls_Of_Jericho, it looks like Daffney is telling me "it takes brass balls to sell real estate." I'll give you three chances to tell me where that line came from.

Anyways, I never would like to have spoilers provided for me. It's like when I'm watching TV, I never want to know what happens beforehand. TV has gotten pretty predictable these days, but I want some level of surprise. In the few occasions I check them out, usually PPV spoilers cause I'm never able to watch them, I always get disappointed when some big star makes a return or a debut and I'm not able to see it. Missing matches is one thing, but when I'm not able to witness a big star coming to a show I feel kind of empty inside.

That being said, when Monday Night RAW comes to the Key Arena on Oct. 11, it would be nice to know exactly what the matches are gonna be so I could prepare properly. Like I wanna make sure Daniel Bryan is gonna have a good amount of airtime so I can get a good sign up on the screen. It's gonna be my first show so I wanna somewhat look like I know what I'm doing! Card subject to change? F that, make it happen.

I am human. By human nature, I am curious. I always want the reward without having to do all the work. If I can find out what happens in 5 minutes instead of 2 hours, I will. Does it prevent me from watching? Sometimes, but not usually.

For everyone who says they hate spoilers, or they avoid spoilers like the plague, stop lying. This thread is labeled "two months of spoilers." If you avoid spoilers, or hate them, why would you open this thread?

Its because your curious like me, and your curiosity won.

i'll read the spoilers for the simple fact that i don't like to watch WWE (or most wrestling for that matter)

Undertaker is the only guy i'll tune in to watch SD for and we all know he might be there but he might not be. i'm not gonna sit through 2 hours to see no Undertaker.

as for Raw i just try to stay away from Raw period. i don't like Cena and we all know if we watch Raw we'll be in for a dozen Cena segments...but if i read the results and see Jericho, Edge, Orton or somebody else did something interesting or there was a great match (which almost never happens) then i'll watch it on Youtube later.

so to answer ur question yes i'd gladly take 2 months worth of spoilers so i wouldn't have to sit through the garbage called WWE TV

I think spoilers do tend to ruin the excitement of what is going to happen. But I can't stop myself from clicking on a link tht says spoiler. Plus it also makes me look like a wrestling creative genius to my little bro wen week after week I correctly guess what is going to happen in certain matches/promos lol.

I hate spoilers and personally don't read them. A lot of people complain that wrestling is too predictable and I'd be willing to bet that a considerable majority of those that say that read spoilers. It's hard for something to be unpredictable if you go trolling for spoilers on upcoming storylines, feuds, angles match and show results. If I'm going to watch a movie, I don't go online looking for details about the movie and what happens during it before going to see it. A lot of times, it kind of kills the reason.

Also, spoilers can give the reader the wrong impression about an upcoming show. After a show has already aired, I'll sometimes go look at the spoilers for that show and read what they have to say. More often than not, the spoilers are unable to give a reader a true account of the show's quality. Most of the time, those spoilers read something like this: "Kurt Angle defeats Amazing Red" or "Kofi Kingston beats Drew McIntyre" and that's it. Am I supposed to determine whether those matches are good or bad based on just that?

Even spoilers that go into great detail still might not be able to accurately describe the overall feel and quality of the show.

I love spoilers. They add a "psychic" feel to watching the WWE. I watch it with my stepbrother, so when a match comes on, I make an odd prediction, it happens. I would read the spoilers for the next 2 months, mostly for anything but RAW, cuz I make it a mission to watch RAW every week.

I would do what I do now and only read the spoiler if I know Im going to miss the show. I used to read spoilers when I first started being a part of the IWC, however seeing as Im the only person in my family who is a wrestling fan I watch it in my bedroom usually sitting on my bed, however if I read the spoilers I would usually fall asleep cause I knew what was going to happen.

I actually read spoilers, but that doesn't stop me from tuning in to see the show. Like I read SmacKDown spoilers every week. I know who is going to win the matches, what segments are going to be done, and etc, but I still tune in. The only reason I tune in is because you can read somebody's perspective of what is happening at a show and whether it is good or bad, but you can tune in yourself because you are just curious into how bad this segment was, or how good this match was and judge by your own opinion. And not only that, but reading spoilers is nothing like actually watching the show itself. I think it's just a curiosity that all wrestling fans have. SmackDown comes on Fridays, but you can see whatever is going to happen right there on a website on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Spoilers and the Internet have ruined the surprise of the wrestling business which doesn't make it as exciting anymore, but that is why everything big that happens occurs on RAW (the LIVE show) rather then SmackDown (the Taped show). The Rock or Stone Cold Steve Austin would never make an appearance on SmackDown (atleast live and start a lengthy feud) because people will just see what happens and possibly not watch the show. It just depends how you take it. I read spoilers and watch the show and it doesn't effect my viewing of it at all.

I only read the Smackdown spoilers and the TNA impact spoilers normally just because Impact is taped on Monday and I don't get it until Saturday for some reason and I like to know what is happening on the shows before they air.

To answer your question 'Would you read the spoilers for the next two months' my answer is simple I would quickly glance through them two see if anything big happened just two know when to look at the matches and if wrestle zone says they are good I would watch them too see how good they were.

I usually read the Smackdown spoilers as I can't stand watching that boring show but I still like to know what's going on. If I had spoilers for two months then I'd read them for Smackdown but not Raw. It ruins the moment when you know what's going to happen which is another reason why Raw is more popular than Smackdown.

I try to avoid Superstars spoilers if I can watch the show since that is one of the only WWE programmings with actual wrestling even though it's mostly midcarders.

I hate spoilers!

Back in 08 I got into a habit of of reading iMPACT! and SmackDown spoilers, but quit reading after spoiling the announcement of the Taker-Edge HIAC Match, which I MARKED OUT for(didn't read about any kayfabe stuff so I legit thought Taker was gone). Haven't read a spoiler ever since unless it's a show I've been to like a taping or something I can't watch like Superstars.

TBH...no...I wouldn't read 2 months...Because then when it comes to say the 3rd taping on TV, I would have forgotten what I even read for that show...

I would just wait and watch it..I'm a guy who can wait...and heck, Why not..your only spoiling it for yourself...

If it was a like a huge spoiler, e.g. debut, return, injury etc..then I would check!! Who wouldn't?

I don't like reading spoliers it ruins the whole show for me now I'll look at the card for the show but not who won. I looked at spoliers for SD once and I never did it again it ruined the whole show for me.

However if it is like a really bug announcement or about some coming back or something like that I might look at it.

I avoid them unless it's something like. Title Change happens this week on Smackdown. If it's a title change,MiTB cash-in or return or something big like that I'll read. But if not I'll avoid them like it's my job. But even if I do see them I'll watch just for the actual wrestling. I always look at the non-spoiler match listings.

In Australia we get episodes later than the US so I tend to read the spoilers so I can keep up with everyone on the other side of the world. I’ll read any spoiler, I don’t really mind because I still get excited reading them even if I’m not actually watching. And, even if I read the spoilers I’ll still watch the show. Even if the spoilers reveal the show was crap I’ll still watch just to make up my own opinion. I’d like to not read them but honestly, I just can’t help myself.
