Sonjay Dutt

Is it me or is he the most nondescipt wrestler ever? Seriously does anyone have a true opinion about him? Does anybody truly mark out for a Dutt match, or hate him with a total passion? What exactly is Sonjays best ever match? He frequently has good matches. But are they anything really do do with him? Dont get me wrong he's talented but if he dissappered would anyone notice? He's just kind of there.

You know what I think of when I think of Sonjay Dutt? Backne and bad hairlines.

I believe Sonja Dutt is impressive in his matches, like the majority of the X-Division. But Sonjay is in a sense much like Shark Boy, that they don't have any real thing about them besides talent.

Nothing seems to work with getting them over, they gave Sonjay this new gimmick, and I think he's nothing more than a joke, some yoga doing guy that spreads leaves around like a little girl at a wedding. It didn't help get him get the X-Divison title and probably never will. I don't know what "it" is, but he just doesn't have "it".

So, aside from talent, he's just a wastrel lost in TNA, and I would not notice if he ever left.

He's got great talent, he's just got nothing to do with it. I think he could make a great heel if given the time and fued. Of course he'd need some help there but yes I think he can do something.

I am a fan of Sonjay. I've seen him live on a few occasions and he is always impressive in the ring. However, I can't say that I mark out for him. I always enjoy watching him and I do get excited when he gets a spot on Impact, but if he just disappeared, I don't think I would care. Sonjay is one of those guys that blends in with everything else. He is extremely talented, but doesn't have that "it" factor that makes a wrestler stand out from the crowd. I am hopeful that if he gets more time due to the 2 hour expansion of Impact, that he might be used in a good storyline or get involved the X Division title picture.

I think a heel turn for him would be good, before he did the guru gimmick and they were teasing a heel turn which i felt would of worked out nicely because he looks like he would make a good heel.

I think Sonjay is awesome. I think he could probably put on a good match with nearly anyone. (well anyone remotely athlectic). I agree with you though that he doesnt really stick out but I think this is due largely to the way he is booked by TNA. With all the wrestlers they have and so little time on TV, most of their X-division guys usually get shoved into these 10 man matches where no individual really gets to shine. If you think about the X-division guys that really stand out its apparent why they do...
Christipher Daniels was given very prominet singles run matches in the past.
Jay Lethal has been given a push and let's face it, you can't help but notice the Black Machismo character.
Chris Sabin was given a decent push in the past...
and so on and so on....
but alot of these other guys just kind of get thrown in there, and theres no storylines to really make them stick out to you.
Granted it may be that Dutt has little mic skills but i think they could make a concerted effort to make him stick out a little more.

The biggest problem with Sonjay is the same problem all x division guys have right now. It's not Sonjay, it's TNA. They are pushing all x division guys down the shoot. Sonjay has amazing talent and yes his gimmick is stupid. But if TNA would let these guys shine YES he would be a contender. I am so sick of seeing TNA push these guys down while guys like Tomko are getting pushes and TV time. Its so frustrating as a HUGE fan of TNA to sit and watch it every week. I can't believe they really think there putting on a quality product right now. Sonjay, Sabin, Danials, Styles, and Lethal in fact ALL x division are the talent I want to see and I don't think I'm alone here. I have wrestled on a show with Sonjay in the indy seen and hes an amazing athlete and a great guy. TNA is going the wrong direction. I feel like I'm watching the minor leagues of WWE and I HATE WWE right now. So nows the time to do something different and let the x division SHINE!!!!!

Its not him per se, its this gimmick that kill him. Ok, lets get real. "The Guru" Sonjay Dutt. An ultra hindu wrestler who likes to shake his opponents hand and hug in the ring. The guy enters to the music they play at the Chinese supermarket down the street banging on a tamborine. Lame. Give this guy a daivari/hassan type character.

I remember reading that TNA wanted him to wear a turbin and he said they should just have him drive a cab while they're at it. They are messing with one of the best indy wrestlers out there and turning him into a laughing stock that won't get taken seriously with this stupid gimmick.

Here's what I say, have him "break character" and go nuts on someone and turn mega-heel, like a small, indian HHH-style cerebral assaisan.... then they'll remember why they liked him for his TALENT. Tell dixie carter to let someone who actually knows something to run the company... she's showing more and more why she doesn't belong with everything I read she does and allows. Good businesswoman, bad wrestlingbusinesswoman.

Well I think that alot people are looking at this from one aspect and one aspect only. Now I know that Sonjay is a pretty good wrestler and exciting to watch, but the Sprinkler did not get him over and his whole hip hop look was drastic. The one thing that people forget is the long list of guys who went through bad gimmicks before they actually found something that broke them through and made them memorable. Now I actually think that this gimmick is a perfect prelude to Snjay turning heel. He can claim that he is fed up with people saying that he lacks personality and how the whole "Man of Peace gimmick was the brain child of the TNA bookers. He can cut a kick ass promo about not needing some stupid degrading gimmick to prove himself like Jay Lethal and then do a heel turn where he is now a disgruntled X division wrestler who has been holding back to make others look good. So I can se big things for him in the future. They just need to put them in place for him.
