Personally I think the TNA World Title is the most pointless title in wrestling. Certainly it's been pointless for the last year or so.

So current champ Kurt Angle won the title in the King Of The Mountain match. Fair enough. But he won it the month before, and was stripped of it. Why? If they were just going to put the title on him anyway. What's the point? Really?

So Christian Cage lost the title. Yeah he did. But was he pinned or did Sting submit? Both. But why not a decisive victory? Couldn't one of them have just jobbed? The title went to Kurt in the end anyway.

Christan regained the world title. By pinning Sting in a three way. The champ was Abyss.

Abyss defeated Sting for the title by disqualification. Sting was disqualified for hitting the referee. So the new champ Abyss wasn't even involved in the finish. Stupid rule. And a rule that they only seemed to remeber on that specific show.

Sting defeated Jarrett. By pinning the actually champ. Proper booking. WOOHOO.

Jarrett won the title in a King Of The Mountain match. In wich he was helped by a referee. The next iMPACT he was stripped of the title. I might be wrong, but he was then given the title back a week later. Or maybe he won it in a match. Either way it was pointless removing the title from him anyway.

Out of all of those matches the only time the champ has properly been defeated is at Bound For Gory. Sting vs. Jarrett #361. That is the only time that a champ has been ''cleanly'' pinned. I said ''cleanly'' but this is TNA.

That title is worth shit.

I don't think the title is worth all that much atm. Like jake said, too many uncessasary things happening like stripping the title of one person, only to give it back a week later. There is no need,

Maybe, and only maybe kurt can give it some credabilty with a longish run, but does anyone else think that hes more interested in his IPWG(a think thats it) title?

Tomko is a champ in Japan but you don't see him carrying his belt everywhere do you?

The TNA title has some viable champions. I mean Sting has a leagcy about him, so does Angle, Cage is a damn good wrestler who was never pushe properley in WWE by always being in Edges shadow. Then Rhino is an ok champion he is a freaking monster. But I have a problem with four guys who held this title.

The first being AJ Styles.. He is a spotaholic. Yeah he can wrestle some but everything is a spot with him trying to hit all these flippity do's and so foruth, in the X-Divsion that's the norm, but as TNA world champion it is ridiculous.

The second being Ron Killings. Lets face it, he is the black John Cena. I like Killings but he is not main event material. He is nothing but a tag team wrestler and midcard talent and he shouldn't have had one title regin much less two!

The thrid being Raven. I never liked Raven all that much in ECW, WCW, Or WWE. I don't know why but I just never thought he was all that special. I mean yeah he was ECW world champion but how he was ever NWA\TNA champion is beyond me. He is hardcore and hardcore wrestling should have never played into the NWA world title. Sure I like hardcore but for a NWA\TNA title that's garbage wrestling and imo hurts the legacy of the NWA title. It is a freaking disgrace he has ever held it.

My last problem with the belt is Jeff Jarrett. Why? Well imo Jarrett would have never been nothing if it wasn't for his daddy pushing him in the USWA back when he first started wrestling. Then somehow he gets to WWE and wins the IC belt and that fine with me he is mid-card talent and his gimmick was drawing him tons of heat. Then he goes to WCW and gets US title regin anotther no big deal kind of thing. Then he goes back to WWE gets another IC regin still no biggie. Then he goes back to WCW and ends up getting a heavyweight title regin towards the end of the company and now I'm pissed. You see Jarrett didn't deserve it he got lucky becasue the company was going out of business and he was good at backstage politics. Then WWE doesn't renew his contract and he goes with his dad and starts TNA and the rest is history he is a 5 time heavyweight champion and imo that is fucking crazy. The only reason he is 5 time champion is because his dad started the company and Jeff is a booker and that's why he is 5 time champion. He booked himself as 5 time champion and that's horseshit and that's the kind of stuff that kills companies.

Now with the exception of thoes 4 I think the title has been on a varitey of diffrent people who were all viable options to carry the "ball" at some point and time. I think having the belt on Angle now is a good move and if Joe ever gets it that will be a good move. TNA just needs to be careful with how the books the title and how people lose it or win it because that just as much as the holder can kill the prestige that it can carry.
