Personally I think the TNA World Title is the most pointless title in wrestling. Certainly it's been pointless for the last year or so.
So current champ Kurt Angle won the title in the King Of The Mountain match. Fair enough. But he won it the month before, and was stripped of it. Why? If they were just going to put the title on him anyway. What's the point? Really?
So Christian Cage lost the title. Yeah he did. But was he pinned or did Sting submit? Both. But why not a decisive victory? Couldn't one of them have just jobbed? The title went to Kurt in the end anyway.
Christan regained the world title. By pinning Sting in a three way. The champ was Abyss.
Abyss defeated Sting for the title by disqualification. Sting was disqualified for hitting the referee. So the new champ Abyss wasn't even involved in the finish. Stupid rule. And a rule that they only seemed to remeber on that specific show.
Sting defeated Jarrett. By pinning the actually champ. Proper booking. WOOHOO.
Jarrett won the title in a King Of The Mountain match. In wich he was helped by a referee. The next iMPACT he was stripped of the title. I might be wrong, but he was then given the title back a week later. Or maybe he won it in a match. Either way it was pointless removing the title from him anyway.
Out of all of those matches the only time the champ has properly been defeated is at Bound For Gory. Sting vs. Jarrett #361. That is the only time that a champ has been ''cleanly'' pinned. I said ''cleanly'' but this is TNA.
That title is worth shit.
