Slammiversary: King of the Mountain Match

KING OF THE MOUNTAIN MATCH
For The TNA World Heavyweight Title

Well so far all we know that one of the five participants for this match will be the champion Joe. Now who will be the other four is the question that needs answering. Now I think that both Sting and Storm will be invloved in this match as both are feuding and knowing TNA they will throw both of those guys in to make it entertaining. So then we have three of the five in the match and then I can see Booker getting in the match as he don't have anything really going for him as I think him and Roode are finished but you never know. So that last person I can see getting in is either Styles/Roode/(A healthy Angle).

I dont think this be a great to match to see because its such a hectic match and come on its just a reverse ladder match. Though I can expect Joe to retain as he has no one to feud with and maybe in this bout he can find someone to feud with going into Victory Road.

I'm always confliced about this match. They're never less than entertaining. But the concept is just ******ed. A backwards ladder match, just like a backward battle royal is stupid. It's mathes like this that lend no crediblility to the TNA product. If there's a dream match thread on this forum it's populated by poor ideas like this. Too many wrestlers, and a silly gimmick. I'm eagerly anticipating the Last Man Standing battle royal.

I agree...there's no way that they would take the belt off of Joe, not so soon after giving it to him and with Angle seemingly injured.

I think this is the match where they will start to try and build a fued for Joe for the next month or two.

As for the format of the match, it is quite stupid. Having to score a pinfall being allowed to hang the ladder as well as having those time out cubicles as well. It just gets very confusing...but it is TNA, it's kinda what they do best.

Last year they shoved Chris Harris as an emergency then misused him for a few months before dumping him. I wonder who will get that treatment this year.

This match could be good, but I don't really see much competiton going into it against Joe. My best guesses would be some combination of Sting, Storm, maybe Roode, maybe Booker, Styles, Christian and more than likely a suprise. Out of all these, it's fairly obvious that Joe will hold onto the belt. TNA is already living very carefully with their title picture right now as they're about 2 years late with Joe getting it, and in order to make it credible he has to hold it for a good while, without making is Angle all over again. This will more than likely be a good match as it always is, but I'm not expecting the best they've had yet.

8 wrestlers is way too much. Somebodys been watching WWE. The see MITB matches and think that they're entertaining. They then do a little maths. WWE Filler Match = TNA Main Event. And there you have it. Great main event.

5 worked fine, even then it was still too many. I hear singles matches work. Booker vs. Joe could be intresting. Why not give that a whirl.

I don't think this match will have Eight Superstars. The way I've understood it from the WZ news article and T.N.A. iMPACT!, Jim Cornette will pick 4 Superstars, and Samoa Joe will pick 4 Superstars. They will fight each other in qualifying matches, and the 4 winners will advance to face Samoa Joe.

Furthermore, on THIS WEEK'S iMPACT! (For those who haven't seen it) Cornette selected:

Robert Roode, James Storm, Matt Morgan & Tomko.

Out of those four individuals, I see Robert Roode being elevated along with James Storm. Why Tomko (a Tag Team specialist) is involved is beyond me. And Matt Morgan, while not with management anymore, is still being treated above better talent, in getting the management push.

Booker T. threatened Samoa Joe, so with that being said I'm almost curious if this means he WON'T be selected by Joe, but instead some wild arrangement of X-Division stars and perhaps Sting or Christian WILL be selected.. which will cause Booker T. to go ape-shit, and attack Sting or Christian, costing them their qualifying match and setting up a good mid-card match for Slammiversary as well.

Overall, if Robert Roode gets in, I'll be excited. He won't likely win over Samoa Plain, but it'll still mean hes on the right path to becoming a Main Eventer. If guys like Christian, Sting & Booker T. ALL make it in.. Samoa Joe will be overshadowed by far better talent, and all former (better) World Heavyweight Champions. So with that being said, I'm also pretty sure we won't be seeing that group of athletes. (Maybe thats why Tomko & Morgan are in, those are the only guys Joe is better than?)

Roode & Booker have qualified. Although to be honest I don't know why they always have qualifying matches in TNA. It happens for almost every title match. It's probably something to do with Russo having a lack of ideas. But then again he came up with ''Stone Cold'' Shark Boy. Well he didn't, but still.

The yreally should just pick the top 4 contenders for this match. It's the main event, of their second ''biggest'' show of the year. Yet the main event won't be decided until the final week. I doubt WWE would do the same with Summer Slam. Not in this day and age.

Booker & Roode just don't strike me as the sort of wrestlers for this type of match either. Although I'm optimistic that Roode can do something that'll make him stand out. But with 4 other wrestlers I expect his to struggle.

Tomko vs. Cage & Storm vs. Rhino are to decide the final two spots. I always thought that Tomko/Cage would be reserved for PPV. I also thought those two would be the final two in the match. Them being the bigger stars of the 4 and all. I for one am hoping for a Tomko & Rhino victory. Only because I want to see Storm vs. Cage on PPV. It's new, different, why not try it out.

I really dont care about this concept match too much just for the fact having samoa joe is going to retain. with that being said i will predict that robert roode will be the chris harris of the pack last year and will gain confidence storyline wise and probably challenge either samoa joe for the tna tittle at victory road or face sting at victory road either way it will be a good building ground for him. as for who will join samoa joe-booker t-and robert roode in the match its pretty much a shoe in for tomko but i think james storm will be in the match wat u guys think?

Ive always liked the KOTM match, but I dont see the point in the penalty box and pin eligibilty at all. I mean if this was real doesnt matter if you were pinned you would just climb the ladder hang the belt and be done with it. But then again this is crazy old TNA with the reverse battle royals! Next we see a reverse stretcher match where you have to get to the ring whilst on a stretcher! But anyways back to the match, I dont think Joe will retain i will be surprised if he does. we only know 3 participants at the mo, Joe, Roode and Booker. And out of those three comes my winner, doesnt matter who else is in it, but im certain Booker T will win this one, sparking a rivarly between Joe and Booker. TNA still needs a well known name to helo carry the brand and before creating thier own guy who can carry it, because Joe I dont think can. So this one should be entertaining but Booker is walking away champ!

Cage & Rhino are the final two participants. I can't help but think those two choices are kind of strange. What are the two heels that didn't get through going to do now? They'll probably be put into a reverse battle royal or somthing. Because TNA just loves to get everybody on the card.

This will probably lead to another Rhino & Cage feud. Sounds stupid I know. It wasn't done that long agao. But hey, it worked once, so it'll work again.

to be a reverse ladder match theres alot of rules for it u gotta score a pin/submission to able to get a chance to win a penatly box just doesnt make to much sense. but it shouldnt be a bad match like said b4 mayb were gonna see a cage/rhyno fued again which seems stupid. they should have just had a booker t vs joe match cause it would have mad the most sense
