should WWE start to use mouth guards during matches?

just had a idea, im a fan on nhl, players wear mouth guards to help protect against concussions

if they wore them just during the matches, do u think it would help the concussion issue

How do we know that some of these reported concussions just isn't part of a storyline or a way to sideline some talent because of too much space on the roster
If WWE wants to come off as something real like some of their storylines suggest and with a so called effective wellness program then the day of each event have the state controlled athletic commission conduct HGH testing

"Additionally, the authors say there is a lack of evidence that mouth-guards and helmets prevent concussions. These pieces of equipment can protect against injuries to the head and face, but likely do little to ward off the more serious internal damage from a concussion. In fact, they may give players have a false sense of security and encourage them to behave more recklessly and aggressively."- Quote from a Time Health article posted on March 13 2013

I think it's ultimately up to the competitor and shouldn't be mandatory.

Why would they need to use mouth guards? I Mean, compared to the glory days they work very, very light.

They can't. In the ring, we don't see it, but superstars have to be able to effectively communicate. Give a superstar a mouthguard, maybe concussions will lessen, but overall injuries will happen a lot more often.

I think that is a legit question. Most pro and amateur athletes who play contact sports wear mouth guards to protect their teeth mainly and they also help to prevent concussions. Whether or not this would work depends on how well they can communicate with each other whilst wearing mouthguards. If it doesn't hinder their inring communications then I say mouthguards should be regulated

I am having a bit of hard time with this
Guys you do know its fake?
Concussions in wrestling happen when one or the other talents in the ring make a mistake
People are making too much of this especially of a fake sport
I question the legitimacy of concussions seeing WWE likes to use reality in their story lines and love to fuck with the heads of us so called know it all fans

Well I didn't know Mark Madden wrote in these forums.

I seem to recall Kurt Angle wearing mouth guards quite a lot back in 2005 or 2006 before he left WWE. I think they could be a very useful item to have, but I wouldn't say they would be necessary.

Mouth guards will only benefit the wrestlers as in not only will they prevent concussions and enable them to still enjoy solid foods but will save the thousands in dental work in the long run.

Kurt didn't have a problem so much with concussions but the mouth guards was to enhance his character as a olympic wrestler

It would be damn hard to call your spots in a match and have the other guy understand you with a piece of rubber in your mouth. I don't think this would be a practical solution. That and the fact that it wouldn't protect against concussions anyway.

How do mouth guards help protect against concussions aren't they more prone to happen near the brain or temples?

Anyways no I don't want to see it they'd always have to readjust them with all the face bumps they'd take. High flying move may decease to, I think it it hurt the product if everyone wears them.
