Let's look back to the year 2008. Chris Jericho was world heavyweight champion after winning the belt in a 6 man scramble match. He had an amazing end of the year where Chris defeated Shawn Michaels on numerous occasions, as well as defeated Batista to regain his world heavyweight championship only a week after loosing it.
Overall you could say Chris Jericho was on the roll of his life. He had been booked like a good champion who truly lived up to the hype he gave himself of being the best in the world at what he does.
However, that was until John Cena was set to make his return at Survivor Series 2008. Only months after having been injured and had neck surgery. As we all know John Cena won the match and became World Heavyweight Champion.
Now, this brings me to wonder. Was it a wrong thing to let John go over Jericho? Jericho was at a point where he could've easily run with the belt a little longer. Hell Jericho and Cena could've probably easily continued their feud longer than Armageddon.
Also, it doesn't exactly help the case with the fact that John Cena had been injured and out of action, an instantly returning world title to me just wasn't the right choice. John could've easily continued to challenge for the belt letting Jericho at least defeat Cena just once or twice on Pay Per View.
So.. Should Jericho have retained at Survivor Series 2008? Or did WWE make the right move?
