Shaq in WWE?

DGUSA owner has stated that WWE should sign Shaq to wrestle. My question is simple, do you think that would be a good idea to sign Shaq?

My opinion is since he is 39 and already an established name nationwide it would only be good to have a one match run. Shaq has a great physique and his stare-down with Big Show showed he is much bigger than he seems on NBA TV.

Remember to give me your opinion (POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE) on this thread by hitting the rep button (I recieved a complaint from a user saying its wrong to mention rep so tell me if you think I shouldn't include this), and remember to take care and spike your hair, WWWYKI:rasta:

When I think of the idea of Shaq as a WWE superstar I think about The great Khali..............

And then I think it would probably be a horrible idea because I'm assuming he would be as slow and suck-ish as Khali is

and yeah generally mentioning that you want rep is usually considered a bad thing

Shaq is going to chill on his couch, and then go get his doctorate. maybe even run for sheriff in Florida. Wrasslin'? No fucking way. Maybe a guest appearance @ WM 28.

maybe some random celebrity match at mania, possibly against the big show. but thats about it. it would be better than when floyd mayweather or mickey rourke did or especially snooki (ya forgot that actually happened)

Do we have to hear & make threads about every little thing john cena tweets about ? we don't get enough of him shoved down our mouths every monday but now you have to make threads about anything john cena tweet's about ?

His (shaq) movies suck which means he's a bad actor do you really think he can cut a promo or playout a storyline ?

Should Shaq wrestle one match? Fuck yeah, son. The guy is a legend. He's obviously a big deal in America. So for one match at a WrestleMania that would obviously be a big draw, WWE should definitely look into it. It would be a huge draw and would get some good exposure for WWE. And I say wrestle, I mean "celebrity wrestle". I wouldn't even have to bump. Just him being there in a storyline capacity would be enough.

Why not make him the RAW GM? He'd be good on the mic, he could get involved physically every once & a while (like he did against Big Show a couple of years ago), & he'd give WWE huge mainstream coverage. And Shaq wouldn't need to show up for every RAW-he could appear once a month & send e-mails the rest of the time. I would never hire him as a full time wrestler, but a GM-type of role could work very well for him.

Actually asshole, why don't you read the post before you run your mouth about my thread. I have no clue what Cena "tweeted" because I hate that shit and if you read my thread you would know the thread was started because DGUSA owner or whatever he is said WWE should capitalize on Shaq. Also if you read my opinion I said he would only be good for a one match run which I never said he could cut a promo or playout a storyline. If Floyd Mayweather could do one match Shaq can. So try to refrain from making an asshole out of your self again and get the fuck off the thread.:shooter::schild13:

Do not ask for rep, it makes you looks like an asshole. I personally would not want to see it but I can for sure see it happening in the form of a Wrestlemania match. It would be a big draw and gain a lot of coverage, no doubt.

Yeah I agree. I don't really want to see a Shaq match anytime soon since WWE needs to focus on building their young talents who need as much TV and PPV time they can get. As for the rep thing I don't demand positive rep but I'll probably remove it from future posts if it offends people.

If anything Shaq should just play the role of a interviewer so at least when someone is talking in the back, to whoever the hell that new guy is, it might get more atten. I could even see him being a manager/body guard of an up and comer. I don't think he should wrestle or get into anything else like that. I could kinda see a Shaq/ R-Truth partnership angle where Shaq could be heel with Truth.

Sorry but I'm gonna disagree with him and being the raw gm, I don't think it would make much sense. I really don't think he has the acting chops to pull that off.

Well at least Shaq can speak English, unlike Khali. Another thing yes Shaq loves wrestling, but why in the blue hell would he want to wrestle 300+ days in WWE? He sure doesn't need the cash, at least i don't think so.

horrible HORRIBLE HORRIBLE idea if wwe was to sign shaq theres already enough fucking shitty wrestlers there we dont need anymore!

I don't think WWE would sign Shag to a contract. That would be very strange of WWE, but it would get them good publicity from ESPN and other sport's network. I doubt though after retiring he would want to go to a much tougher, year-around "sport" like Professional Wrestling.

What I do think what could happen though is him being a guest celebrity at Wrestlemania next year. Maybe he could be in a match, maybe he can face Big Show or something? Didn't Big Show face that sumo wrestler guy Aki Bono, then he faced Floyd Mayweather, he seem's to be the guy WWE put's with the guest celebrity's who are wrestling a match. Plus it'll be awesome.

A lot of people forget that Shaq is a big fan of the WWE and also a father of children who like John Cena... he's very close to a lot of WWE stars, and there's a lot more positions in the WWE than just wrestling. Who knows, maybe Shaq can be signed to WWE as their first big time movie star and make Kazaam 2.

Who knows maybe signing him to a WWE "Personnel" contract as I'll call it can also give WWE the chance to put the legendary Shaq Fu into WWE 12 as DLC. Shaq in the WWE, whether as as writer or someone on screen, can benefit WWE in a lot of ways.

Good post man.

As far as Shaq's future is concerned the WWE is his best option.

Shaq's too big of a public figure with an even bigger mouth to be a cop. I think his rap dissing Kobe ended his sheriff dream.

Also, Shaq has talked about going MMA and was a hidden character in the last UFC game. But he's too old, too slow, too beat up, and way too amateur for UFC, Strikeforce, or any other MMA league. Sure Shaq's size alone makes him an intimidating opponent. But he won't have the jiujitsu or wrestling experience he needs to be successful in the world of MMA. He'll just be another Kimbo or James Toney... if he's lucky.

As far as celebs go, Shaq is almost too perfect for the WWE. He has size, charisma, mic skills, can work a crowd, can sell tickets, can be intense and brings a new audience. Sure he won't be a good wrestler, no one expects him to come out the gate as the Undertaker.

I'm not saying to give him Lesnar push and have him be champion in a couple months. But if he works against some one that can carry him through a match and teach him a good 5 moves of doom set. He'll probably be better than Cena.

I can see him being a black Kevin Nash. Both go by the name Diesel and Shaq's finisher would probably be a powerbomb of some sort called the "Shaq Attack" or "Kazaam Slam."

There's already talking about another Big Show & Shaq match...

We really need Big Show to get out the fuckin company. I mean, I'm all about the NBA and if Shaq comes thru on Raw again I'll watch but put him in the ring with someone who he could actually do a fuckin move too. We don't need anymore epic power struggles and at most a clothesline.

From a personal standpoint, I don't want to see Shaq work a match as I don't think it would be very fun to watch. But at the same time, Shaq is such a big name in the United States and presumably around the world so having him compete at say Wrestlemania would help increase buyrates. Whether you like him or hate him, I don't have doubts that he's a big draw and having the usual obligatory celebrity match at Wrestlemania really wouldn't be that far of a stretch.

People who are shooting this down must not have seen Raw when Shaq guest hosted. It was to me the best of all the guest hosted Raws. He obviously brings great size, charisma, and star power, and would be great working foe the E during next years road to Wrestlemania leading into a one shot match with someone.

Well thanks for the responses guys. Shaq can be a good money maker but really I don't think hes needed. And as for the rep thing ill probably remove it. Had some smart asses who did negative and just quoted me or just did it for nothing. Not trying to offend anybody. And for the person who said to stop cursing and using faces.. fuck no :icon_wink:

I wouldnt want to see him in a WWE ring in a wrestling type of role, celebrities and wrestling just dont mix! But WWE dont seem to get that and instead book the role continuously at Wrestlemania which becomes a bigger piss break than watching the NXT Divas trying to become technical masterminds!...

But yes WWE should hire him in some aspect, maybe if they do entirely bring back the manager role he could become a great manager? If MVP returned and brought back his 'Ballin!' gimmick the two would mesh perfectly! Maybe Percy Watson could use a manager? Big Zeke? R Truth? JTG? Just saying a manager role would suit perfectly!

The WWE RAW General manager idea aint bad either, but i've never heard him talk so I wouldnt know if he would suit the role or not, but the idea sounds good on paper.

whaaat? shaq is an INCREDIBLE athlete for a 7 footer, if he really wanted to wrestle he could be damn good at it, i'd buy him as WWE Champion

the only problem i would have with Shaq as a wrestler is he gets lots of nagging injuries that keep him out of action for months out of a time. If he gets injured as much as he does when he was in the NBA he would do 1 or 2 matches then go on vacation for 3 months which would shift the entire story line.
