Shane McMahon to TNA?

Occasional Pre-Show
I read tonight on another site, and I expect that it will soon appear on the main page here, that Shane McMahon and Hulk Hogan are both at the UFC event tonight in Las Vegas. Is this a coincidence or does anyone believe that Shane McMahon could be involved Monday night in TNA, giving the fact that he is officially released from his WWE contract as of the 1st of January.

Even if Shane is involved, does anyone think that his presence is something that could make an impact... no Pun intended?

That would be a serious slap in the face to vince. Hell its more like a kick in the balls but i highly doubt it. Shane and Dana are friends and he's always at the events.

^ Upon Shane resigning from his job last year.. I'm almost positive the rest of the information was that he wanted to pursue other things. Maybe he's going to help UFC behind the scenes with reaching out to even more fans, more tv deals, etc.. ya know?

Just an idea.

If you recall, right before TNA signed Kurt Angle it was all over the web that he was persuing an MMA career... the next thing you know... "It's real, It's Damn Real!"

Were they sitting together?

This would be news if they were. They weren't. Shane has been in negotiations with the UFC to buy a piece of ownership, whereas Dana wants him to be an employee.

Hogan is a notorious MMA fan.

It's nothing more than a sheer coincidence.

i would highly doubt that shane was going to TNA.. considering he'd be competing againt vince, which would just be too much of a idiotic move for shane really..

I can't see this happening. Why would Shane do this? What would it prove? The only thing it would really do is burn his bridges with his family. The only way I could ever see a McMahon appearing on a TNA show is if WWE bought the company or if they did a cross-over storyline, and at this point, I can't see that being the case.

You know, I was thinking about this myself for the last several days, especially while several people on this site have been speculating about a swerve from Bret Hart, appearing on TNA instead of WWE to screw Vince McMahon and the WWE. I 100% doubt this swerve from Bret Hart, which I already discussed in another thread. But it got me to thinking. What surprise could TNA pull to make me switch tomorrow night from RAW to TNA?

Because make no bones about it, I am 100% WWE and will definitely be watching RAW instead of TNA. I may switch over during commercial breaks, and I'm sure I'll either record TNA and watch it later, or will watch it when it's re-broadcast on Thursday night.

Anyways, back to topic. I was thinking, what could TNA do to lure me away? Hogan, Bischoff and a reincarnated nWo? No. Flair? Definitely not. RVD? Intriguing, but not enough. Mr. Kennedy/Anderson? Absolutely not. Any other recycled has-beens that Hogan might dig out of his past? Not even worth commenting on.

Stone Cold Steve Austin or the Rock? That would definitely capture my attention and would seriously tempt me. But the chances of this happening are absolutely 0% for a multitude of reasons, so I won't bother to comment on such fantasy, and even if it did happen, I'm not sure if it would be enough to sway me on January 04, 2010.

There is only one thing which could do it. Let me preface this by saying I also feel there is 0% that such fantasy could ever become reality. But it's interesting and fun speculation.

Hogan, Bischoff, etc., are in the TNA ring and they announce their newest silent partner. And out comes Shane McMahon. Now this would turn the wrestling world upside down and truly ignite a new era of the Monday Night Wars. Because there are only 2 ways such an event could happen. 1. There is true heat between Vince and Shane, and Shane left Vince and the WWE with bad blood for real, and he wants to stick it to Vince and the rest of the WWE. Again, I don't believe this for a second, but it would be interesting. Because this would involve real heat, real emotion, and both sides would get very intense and very personal, and fast. 2. It's all kayfabe, and there's been some behind the scenes shenanigans by Vince and the WWE, such as Vince secretly purchasing TNA, and this being a colossal storyline, a chance to re-do an Invasion storyline but not screw it up this time. I don't believe this either, but it would make for compelling television.

So no, truth be told, there's no chance Shane McMahon will be appearing on TNA any time soon. And there's nothing else they could pull to sway me, and most others, away from WWE to "cross the line." The end result? WWE absolutely kicks TNA's butt tomorrow night and beyond. The Monday Night Wars? No. More like the Monday Night Whimpers.

this is in the spam zone so a spammy reply I shall do.

Hogan and Shane were probably saying hi to each other, he is after all an old family friend.

Well, being that Shane actually cashed out all of his shares of WWE stock, I suppose it is a more likely case then it was before. I would say that if Shane kept all of his stock in WWE, then there would have been no chance of this happening. However, since he cashed out everything and for Shane to take all of his investments out of the company, there has got to be a lot of heat between he and Vince.

I think the possibility of something happening with Shane is actually a real possibility at this point. Shane doesn't have to work for the rest of his life. But wrestling is still in his blood, and it would seem to me that he would look at promoting TNA one Hell of a challenge.

I'm just glad that he finally stopped putting up with his father's crap and made a powerful statement by leaving.

My theory on Shane, and it's purely an idea and not based on anything, is that he's either going to be involved in some kind of UFC thing. Or that he's going to make his own UFC brand. Many think that ultimate fighter is the future of fighting, and I feel like he wants to get in on that.

Even tho he probably pissed off his father by quitting WWE, I feel like even he wouldn't stoop so low as to directly attack his father by joining TNA. He'd probably be disowned by his family if he did that.

The reason that I brought this up was because I previously read information online that he was fed up with Stephanie McMahon's control level in WWE, and then all of a sudden it comes out that as of the 1st he is a free agent. Then, yesterday I read that he cashed in all of his WWE stock and that he was at the same place as Hulk Hogan.

Does anyone know why this was placed in the "spam" section? I wasn't trying to spam, I was throwing out what I believed to be a legitimate idea. Would the idea of Kurt Angle going to TNA prior to his signing have been thrown into the spam section? I can't wait til tomorrow night because if Shane McMahon does show up its going to make the moderator of this look like an incompetent power happy fool.

Edit: For example, how is this spam compared to the topic in the wwe vs. tna section that speculates about Bret Hart showing up in TNA? Really? The guy already signed a contract with WWE and it has been announced that he will be there tomorrow night. How is that not spam? I was talking about a non-contracted wrestling name that truly could be a possibility.

Seriously doubt it, just because I think he loves the WWE.

It's more likely he'll go to the UFC.

1 major thing to think about here, anyone stop to think of how Vince got into the scene? He went against what his father told him. Funny how history repeats itself. I was wondering where the heck Shane was as of late, Stephanie to, i know she just had a baby a while ago but surely she isn't gone for good.

Theres no spamming here from what i see, i dont see massive linkage, repeatative messages, or anything else of the sort. I wouldn't have stuck this in spam, quite an interesting topic actually in my book.

Maybe Shane will be the tna 10-10-10 surprise then he can hire Gabe Gabe Sapolsky as his booker and try to force some kind of tna, dragon gate, and evolve merger, were the new company would have evolve's rules with dragon gate style of wrestling mixed that up with some of tna's talent toss in some story lines, creating a national brand with an indy feel. The next thing I would do is move television taping to the Manhattan center's grand ball (the birth place of Monday night raw), charge the crowds I honestly believe fans in nyc are willing pay 20 a week for action. Next I would Continue doing tna house shows, the same way they do now, very fan friendly. But here is a unique trick that I would do take film crews to the house shows tape the best matches from that months tour and put them as your ppv (just make sure fans don't know what a title match before it happens) I believe this would be a cheaper alternative than doing live ppv at the moment and you can do this until your revenue is back on par and then go back to live ppv this time with better production values and more revenue to book bigger arenas. I know this may seem like a down grade but some times you have to step back before you can step forward. What do You guys think?

Say, why hasn't a "Lillian Garcia To TNA" thread been made yet? It's been months, she had a bit of a beef there and well, it seems every time a WWE guy leaves, no matter how stupid it looks or sounds, a "*insert person here* In TNA?" is always made.
