Sam Mitchell has been fired as the head coach of the lame Toronto Raptors. The Raptors were a team that was expected to post great numbers this year, possibly being in the top 3, and a great chance of winning their division if they worked hard. But that did not come to be, and the team is hovering below the 500 mark this season. This year was going to be the deciding part in Mitchell's carrer with the Raptors. He was either going to put forth a top 2-3 showing, with a chance of winning the NBA Finals this year, or he was going to be released. The first option did not look like it was going to happen at this point in the season. With his release went the coach that had the most wins with the Raptors, as well as serving the longest. He has been replaced by assistant coach Jay Triano for the time being. What do you think, was his release needed?
