DEUCES WILD TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT FINALS

For the TNA World Tag Team Championship

I don't know who's involved as I've not caught iMPACT for a few weeks (Thanks Bravo) but I hear it's a Lethal Lotter type thing. That's stupid. Why did Tomko & Styles lose in the first place? And who thought that idea worked the first time round? Vince Russo is my guess, but apparently he doesn't book this shit.

So pretty much the end result is that there will be tag champs like in WWE. Just two random wrestlers put together, instead of an established tag team.

there is accualy 4 team teams then 8 single wresler put toghter randmloy to form 4 other teams then an tat is how it works and aj and tomko lost to kaz and eric young, but super eric came then aj complained and now titles are vnacted

T.N.A. presents their version of King Of The Ring!

Seriously, Cornette explained in rough detail that 4 teams would advance to the Pay Per View. Then another 8 people (the losers?) would be randomly paired together to take on those 4 teams. The way it shapes up, is the winner of the Tag Team Championships, is going to be the team that wins three matches in one night.

You have your ENTIRE PAY PER VIEW WITHIN THIS TOURNAMENT! You'll have Seven matches, or 6 barring one match going to a draw. Then you'll have the Knockout's match, and the Triple Threat World Championship. Chances are we'll only get an X-Division Championship added on top of this. Which means.. this entire Pay Per View is going to revolve around crowning the next set of Tag Champs.

Who wants to bet that it ends up being a Wild card team that plays off not working well together?

I would like the idea if it werent for the fact the champions we already had weren't a pair of singles wrestlers randomly placed together and the fact we haven't had true tag team champions since Team 3D lost to Joe.

The tournament has an interesting aspect to it but my issue is that they're already eliminated the Motor City Machineguns, im not saying they should win, but they're a top team and are out in the opening round. The other thing is, they went out to Christian Cage and Rhino who are allegedly one of the standard teams? And then Cornette threatened Storm, Roode, Sting and Booker about them potentially being partners at Slammiversary only for them to have a match that same night that apparently is a part of this tournament.

All in all im confused by it, i thought the 8 teams would compete on impact and then meet the individuals on PPV. If this is the case are we now saying that Christian Cage & Rhino, Sting & Booker T and Robert Roode & James Storm are established teams? If they are then that would mean that Kaz & Eric and AJ & Tomko are going to beat LAX and Rock 'n Rave on this week's impact as they were the key two teams involved in this to begin with. This would result in only one actual team, Team 3D, making it past the opening round and now they're teasing a break-up with them anyway!

This is rediculous in my opinion, WWE's tag team division is a joke, there hasnt been a legitimate set of of champions since Londrik on SD! and Cade and Murdoch on Raw who in my opinion are a terrible, terrible team. We're now plagued with champions who arent real teams and have three title defences a year which they win by cheating. Im a fan of John Morrison but he and the Miz are bad champions.

TNA are now trying to copy this and i dont think that's a great move for them. They have more real teams than WWE does despite their smaller roster but they arent using them.

I'm still confused about this. It's hard to grasp by reading. I still haven't caught iMPACT for a few week. I have better things to do at 9pm on a Saturday.

Apparently Kip James, James Storm, Sting, Robert Roode, Booker T, BG James, Matt Morgan and Awesome Kong are the wrestlers that will team at random. I'm intrigued about adding Kong. Although I don't think it'll work. She can get pinned by the men and not lose momentum, but the other way round will ruin the men. Unless it's Kip James she pins then I'm all for it.

And from what I've read Eric Young is teaming with Styles. That sounds awful to me. I don't want comedy A.J. anywhere near comedy Eric. They're my pick to win by the way.

I'm with you Jake in that I haven't caught iMPACT in a few weeks and I'm confused as fuck about this. It seems to me they had an oppurtunity to bring some credibility back to the tag titles but are making all the established teams - i.e. The Motor City Machine Guns - look like crap by having teams of two individuals beat them.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Kong won the titles with whoever. Knowing TNA she'd be the one that did all the work and her partner would just sit there while she beat the shit out of LAX single-handed or something. So my pick's will be either her and whoever her partner is, or LAX.

Well, after iMPACT! it appears that two of the randomly placed teams have been named. It'll be Kip James & Matt Morgan, and Sting & James Storm. With that being said, I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and assume the rest of the teams will be something like..

B.G. James & Booker T. and Robert Roode & Awesome Kong.

I could've completely seen Sting & Awesome Kong v. A.J. Styles & Super Eric. That has T.N.A. booking written all over it, for a Finals match at a Pay Per View. However by the looks of it, the two teams that've already been paired won't last as they're destined for single's feuds that'll drag on through the summer most likely.

I'm fully predicting Awesome Kong winning the Tag Team Championships with Robert Roode. (If they're a team, If not Kong is still my choice to win) I think Roode, being someone just coming off his biggest storyline all revolving around abusing Women, teaming with the most dominate one in T.N.A. is perfect. Doesn't work great for building Roode as credible for a World Title run, but it plays off his previous storyline.

Infact, I'm going on record for saying that Awesome Kong will more than likely replace Kurt Angle in the record books.. by becoming the first individual to not only win all three Men's Championships, but being the only "person" capable of winning ALL the gold, including obviously the Women's Championship. And anyone who knows T.N.A., knows this is completely possible.

I actually like this idea, at first I thought was lame but I think will be good, its been on iMPACT which is cool and gives a reason to watch iMPACT. I aslo think that it was about time TNA took the belts of Tomko and AJ they had them long enough and destroyed the Tag division. Also having to go all through the tournament facing all the other established and none established teams, will show a strength in the tag team that wins. I can see LAX bringing in this one, they have been on a push lately and with the Hector Guerrero thing I can see them winning it. Im hoping it will come down to Team 3D and LAX like old times that would be awesome. But on the other hand I can see TNA being stupid and putting the titles on a non established team or a team thats not really a team normally like Rhyno and Christian. But lets hope LAX will win!

No way will LAX win. the whole point is that a few of the teams are random. Whats the point if they then just have a normal team win, it'll be an odd couple. Which will make the division look poor. If it's any team other than Styles & Young I'll be amazed. The comedy half of the former champs with the comedy half of the team that started this thing. It's pretty predictable if you ask me. Comedy also sells from what I've been told.

every tag match will get less than 5 minutes with intros as there are just too many teams. LAX will definitely not win as much as I would like to see some real credible champs instead of Super Eric/Kaz and AJ/Tomko. If anyone remembers the Ultimate X match at Bound for Glory 07, LAX still has a tag team title shot which they haven't used and its been over 6 months.

Tsk, tsk TNA.

LAX should win the tag titles. They are the best tag team TNA has at the moment and former champions they deserve to get the titles back. Lets face it the other wild card teams that were randomly made up were put in as filler teams I don't think anyone really though that any of them would win. LAX make the tag team division in TNA both of these guys are phenomenol in the ring. Thats why they will be crowned the new champs once again.

So LAX won huh. I'm cool with that. But what was the point of the whole tournament based on odd couple tag teams, if the final two are permanent teams? There was no point to this whole process. You can't knock TNA for having a lack of ideas, but you can knock them for having stupid ideas. If the original plan was to put the titles on LAX then why didn't they just have Styles & Tomko vs. them at this show. If Tomko couldn't be there draft in a replacment. But not Kaz though, because that's stupid. To the triple threat thread I go.

I think the problem with Tomko was that TNA are pissed because he wrestled a match in Japan the night before the last ppv even though they asked him not to and thats why he hasnt been involved recently as punishment.

As for the match i was very pleased that LAX won, i thought they would (although i did worry that they would put it on 1 of the non established teams).
As for being pointless i dont think it was, it made it more interesting and it put over actual tag teams, instead of just 2 guys put together, which i thought would be something most people on here would like.

True. But the TNA tag division has more than enough established teams, so there wasn't much point in making teams for just a couple of weeks. They didn't need to make the teams that LAX will more than likely feud with look weak. Are LAX now going to feud with Team 3D again? Maybe, but it's also possible they'll feud with teams that weren't on Sacrifice like MMG, Rock 'N' Rave, Shark Boy & Curry Man, Rellik & Black Reign etc.

Thats true but maybe that could be the point of mixing it up for Sacrifice, so now they can feud with the other established teams without already seeing it from the ppv, sort of trying to keep it fresh if you were by keeping off some of the established teams from the ppv.

Either way for me it was interesting to have such a big focus on the tag division for a months worth of build up and now we have LAX as champs.
Also the way they have been building them it would seem as they should be getting a big push ("LAX say 2008 will be their year") and lets hope that MCMG have been doing as they are told so they can finally get out of the dog house and start a feud with LAX (mainly for the great matches they could have ;))
