I've been extremely critical of the dude, but his 5/20/13 promo was far and away his best. I still think the "ryback rules" catchphrase sucks. But damn. That was a good promo, especially by his standards. It sounded like he wasn't scripted and was given bulletpoints. Felt more legit. I concede the dude has potential. Anyone else (who didn't like him) warming up to his act? Dude finally went full heel and wasn't just flashing his grill inbetween sentences. He felt natural. Now of course the finish is gonna be a joke, but still.

Yeah, I'm liking him more as he gets to speak more. They should've given him the mic a long time ago. Still overrated by WZ, though...

You have to understand a monster face does not need a microphone to get over. If they go out there and kick heels' asses on a regular basis, they're going to get over as long as it's booked properly. He was booked great until they put him up against Punk. They booked themselves into a corner at that point because they had already set up Punk/Rock at RR. Turning him heel, while not the best move, was almost a necessity after Punk left due to a lack of main event talent.

Now that he's heel he needs to get on the mic more in order for people to hate him. For his style, he's not bad on the mic at all. He definitely needs more practice though. That's why this heel run might be a very good thing for him.

I was getting more and more into him and his decimation of Cena at Extreme Rules was the culmination of that.

Agreed. No reason for someone like Ryback to talk.

To an extent, but even Mark Henry has to cut a promo now and then. Not saying his promos are bad, just using him as a comparison since their gimmicks are fairly similar.

Give a guy more time and faith to get it right, and it's more likely they will. Yeah I liked the promos, at least by comparison, and thought his delivery was up a lot. It was also a pretty decent way to kick off Raw.

Big guys like him don't need to cut promos too often, but it's good if they can when they should. And sometimes they certainly should.

IS he still getting pops when goes for the finishing move? I said it here when it happened....Ryback should have been champion after HIAC.
