The chances of something unexpected happening are, as always with the Royal Rumble, pretty good. That said, the chances of it happening at this Royal Rumble match are actually a little slimmer than they have been in the past and that's because of the wealth of talent that the WWE seems to have at their disposal right now. I think, at last count, the WWE had named 21 or 22 people who were definitely going to be in the Royal Rumble match. But that doesn't include the losers of the Championship matches (Reigns, Owens, Cena or Styles). It also didn't include people lie Jason Jordan or Chad Gable, who have nothing else to do that night and who should be a part of the Rumble match at least. And it doesn't include someone like Seth Rollins, who I am positive will be in the match itself after some sort of play at the Rumble. So really, you have close to around 26 or 27 names that could and should be in the match.
With the remaining spots that are left, you get to think about some of the surprises that might be on the way. Kurt Angle has said that he wont be at the Royal Rumble match and I tend to believe him. So really, the only people I am interested in seeing making a return, or coming to the WWE are Finn Balor and Kenny Omega. Do I think that Kenny Omega would be put in this Royal Rumble, given the star power that the WWE has in this match? Not a chance. That's if he would even consider going to the WWE at all. So that leaves us with Finn Balor, who I think will make his return on Sunday night. I think he is healthy and will be cleared to make his return during the Rumble match.
The only other person I'd like to see be in the Royal Rumble who hasn't been announced is Nakamura. I think he has done his time in NXT and deserves to have a crack at the main roster. The crowd would pop for him like never before and it would be a just reward for everything he has put into his WWE. The fact is though, Joe is very likely to get the nod before Nakamura is.
