I'll take it. Let's face it, in the Royal Rumble match any year, there are no more than a half dozen guys at best that realistically have any shot at winning the thing and going on to main event Wrestlemania. This is more true now than ever with one fewer belt. As I see it, Punk is one of those guys. If your guy happens to be Zack Ryder or Jey Uso, you have no shot in this thing. Frankly I don't expect Punk to win it, but at least he is on the short list in terms of having a shot.

If we were having this discussion a week or more ago, I would have definitely agreed with you. Now, I am far from certain that Triple H versus CM Punk is happening at Wrestlemania. In fact, I'm leaning towards thinking it won't happen.

Possibly. I have a hard time believing it's going to be against Kane. But all this could be a distraction to slowly pull Punk away from HHH.
Then again, I wouldn't be surprised to see Punk make the final 4 and get taken out by Kane from the outside.
I could definitely see Kane taking Punk out in the Royal Rumble match, either late in the match as a participant or from the outside. I could then see Punk versus Kane at Elimination Chamber as a water-treading match.
In terms of WM, I guess Punk versus Triple H is still a possibility. However I could also see Punk versus Batista, Punk versus Cena (role reversal), even Punk versus Daniel Bryan or even Punk versus Roman Reigns.

Jimmy Uso is #7, Axel is 8 and The Miz is #9. Jimmy is eliminated by Reigns.
Big E is #10 and R-Truth is #11. Big E gets rid of Miz and RVD eliminates Axel.
