Wow. This is the hardest decision I've had to make in this tourney so far. Both great games, and are icons for their respective genres. Goldeneye delivered a revolutionary experience to all N64 users and set the standards for all future FPS's. Starcraft emerged as the most prominent and widely-loved RTS's, and remains so to date. When I think about their importance on a timeline, though, I'm going to vote for Starcraft. Only several years after Goldeneye was made, the same developers released Perfect Dark for the N64. Many people can't get past their nostalgia for Goldeneye and say its a better game, but Perfect Dark is merely and improved version of it. Starcraft still sits unchallenged on its throne in gaming, and is why I'm going to vote for it.

Goldeneye is a GREAT game. Fan-fucking-tastic. No way around it.

However, Starcraft is STILL being played on a large scale, and it launched the entire professional gaming movement. There's no contest here. Starcraft wins by a mile.

I'm backign StarCraft because it's a game I love still today and been replaying it prior to the tournie.

StarCraft in my honest opinion, is one of the great stragety games of all time. Currently until the sequel comes out, it's been a one off game that is still popular despite the likes of World of Warcraft being around. This one is a true gem because you appreciate it better. Instead of random "kill this guy, destroy this village", you get a thorough storyline with meaning. You get a mix of different missions, some of which never got matched by other games in its genre. What's more, it's actually an old game that works on Vista, which is a plus in my book if I have to be honest.

Where Goldeneye is amazing no doubt, the trouble is, other games have come and gone, and the other problem is the only to play Goldeneye is through an N64, of which is at least a good 60 miles away (don't ask). We'll never get to see Goldeneye as a downloadable because of the problems with Ninteno, Microsoft (who own Rare) and Activision who hold the license to the Bond games.

Both games came out between 96-98 and both got masses of support, Goldeneye was the best FPS, and StarCraft got best PC game of the year. As said earlier, Perfect Dark is a game that came along and did more because it was a shadow sequel, but there have been better FPS that have come since, I mean we voted Halo ahead of Final Fantasy 7, the latter being branded an all time great! StarCraft is still being played today by people, including me and also the much anticipated sequel is out later this year. This a game that has been loved and nurtured and instead of giving an instant sequel to keep them going, they had this game and the expansion. Now the sequel is coming, StarCraft can be appreciated as a great, simply because they wouldn't have been this patient to hold off the sequel until now.

Vote StarCraft

Goldeneye gets my vote, and will probably until the very end. I've supported Starcraft thus far, but it simply doesn't stack up the neverending fun that is Goldeneye. Starcraft may be more immersive but it certainly isn't as fun as Goldeneye.

Goldeneye is hands down the greatest console multiplayer experience ever (not counting online games obviously), the hours and hours me and my friends spent playing this game. I became a legend at that game, wiping the floor with my friends no matter how many damn times we'd play. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING in video game history matches up to the fun of getting 3 of your buddies to play multiplayer with you using proximity mines.

Vote Goldeneye or you'll be taken out with the Golden Gun!

Another tough choice. Again I'll be arguing for a game that I always loved on the N64, and that is Goldeneye.

I believe I got my copy of Goldeneye from a friend of my sisters, and then I didn't give it back to her for like a year, because the moment I played it I was hooked. Even though someone who's played a lot of COD or Halo might look at this game and be appalled by the graphics, this game was what invented the genre as a whole. This was a great game to be played with friends or by yourself for campaign. Starcraft, on the other hand, while being a great game, just doesn't appeal to me as much as Goldeneye. My friends were OBSESSED with this game for a few years, but I couldn't get into it. It just felt like you spent half an hour building up your guys, got in a fight, then did it again. It just seemed pointless to me. The online was pretty great but with all the people who just kept beating me over and over I wasn't really a huge fan:). Anyway, Goldeneye the superior game to me, and though I wouldn't be sad if Starcraft won I just really think Goldeneye deserves to go through.
