HALO is a great game, but nothing beats throwing up proximity mines when you are being chased and ka boom... or placing a remote mine on another player and then run off and ka boom. Or sniping others or anything. This was one of my favorite games ever for the N64, I sometimes want to buy another 64 just to get this game.

GoldenEye 007, aka the greatest game ever created vs. Halo, aka the most overrated piece of shit ever brought to us on this planet. Not just games, but that includes music, film... EVERYTHING. Most overrated thing, period.

Seriously, GoldenEye 007 is the most fun anyone could ever have playing a video game. It was just beyond awesome. I never played a first shooter game before playing GoldenEye, and after... I never played another first shooter video game that came HALF as good as GoldenEye was. It was truly a masterpiece.

Halo, on the other hand, wow... what a piece of shit. I remember hearing so much hype going into it, and man was I letdown. It's probably not as bad as a game as I put it over, but it's certainly nowhere near as good as Halo fanboys put it over. I mean, honestly... the love this game gets from not just nerds, but casual motherfuckers in general, just astonishes me because it's really not that good, and DEFINITELY doesn't come anywhere near being as good as GoldenEye 007. Me stating Halo as an overrated piece of shit, I can admit, is opinion, but me stating GoldenEye 007 is better than it is just pure fact, sorry.

Halo is alright, but that's it. Alright. Goldeneye is a treat to play multiplayer or even one player, and I think it is probably the only film to game transfer that actually works whilst still largely keeping the same story. Halo was ok, but it was a bit repetetive and it lacked that kind of play until your thumbs bleed playability.

Great match up here. Two games that revolutionised the FPS genre.

Play Halo now and you might question what's so special. That's because every Tom, Dick and Harry ripped every idea they could without getting sued and slapped them on their own FPSs so they weren't complete shit. The same could be said of Goldeneye, which I assure you doesn't play as well today as it used to.

I just remember playing Goldeneye with my brothers, racing to get the golden gun, getting shot at and having those little curved bars popped up. Failing to rescue that bitch on single player and getting so angry that you waste your watch-laser in the general's face. I'll have to give it my vote for that.

I no way, shape or form is Halo overrated though. In fact, I'd say it's underrated. Because of the sheer amount of clones it spawned, people just fail to recognise its contribution to the industry.

I've voted for Goldeneye.

I really like Halo and I backed it in some of the earlier rounds but I loved Godeneye. Goldeneye really was a great game and at the time, it was the only game I played for days and days on end. Halo is a good game too and don;t get me wrong, I wasted a lot of my time playing it. The thing about Halo is that I think I may have overplayed it. I had so much playing Goldeneye with my friends at one point that I still look back on it with rose-tinted goggles on.

Both are really great games and I am not going to go on the graphics, gameplay system of voting. All I used to see which game I was going to vote for is which one I would rather play again with my friends around me and it is Goldeneye, hands down.

Goldeneye, all the way. I've hardly played this game as much as I've played Halo, due to the fact my friends practically forced me to sit through long, boring hours of Halo. Goldeneye is one of the best games, I've ever played. I really need to go out, and rebuy it. My disc is rather scratched up, and freezes on me. Seriously, GoldenEye, all the way. No Contest.

 Is this the game that was on the N64, the console that used cartridges? Is that the disk that's scratched that you need to but Milk?

So aside from Milk proving he hasn't played Goldeneye I'll throw my two cents out.

Both are fantastic games in their own right, I don't know where people get Halo is over rated from, the franchise is but the first game alas is not. I enjoy playing it to this day with mates and in single mode.

Goldeneye was great for its time and helped ppush FPS a bit more forward, play it now on your disk :lmao: and you will find that it is really blocky and a bit meh as a whole, but still nothing beats four player GE on the N64...so my vote goes to Goldeneye007.

Goldeneye gets the nod from me here. I love Halo. No, I fucking love Halo. Is it overrated? Yep. Is it the best FPS ever made? Nope. Is it more fun than 99.9% of video games ever released? God damn right. I rock snipers on Blood Gulch to this day man.

But Goldeneye is simply better. Granted, like Lee, I noticed that it really doesn't hold up that well. Gave it a playing a month or so back, and was kind of disappointed. It just doesn't hold up very well, but then again I didn't get a chance to rock the multiplayer again. Nevertheless, Goldeneye is still a massive achievement in gaming, and still the best FPS ever made. This game was God when I was growing up. GOD.

I won't blame you for voting for Halo, but Goldeneye is simply better.

Oh and ROFLCOPTER Milk. I bet that Goldeneye disc is rough to play, huh? Kind of have to jam it on the N64 don't ya? :lmao:

I had forgotten how much I loved Golden Eye until I purchased it to go along with my brand new N64 very recently. I popped it in and went to that one snowy level with the castle and the lodge. I faced my brother and completely rigged all the door ways in the lodge with the mines that blow up if you trip the lazer (proximity?). Using the guided missiles is still a challenge, but gives so much satisfaction when you just DRILL someone. Sniping is a joy, the Golden Gun is a pain, and mines give me an erection. Halo is good, and it's fun to blow the shit out of things, but the multi-player mode on Golden Eye creates the most fun gaming experience you can ever imagine. My vote when to Golden Eye, obviously, and probably will for the remainder of the tournament.

Oh, and Milk, I have used some nifty disk repair thing before. It works wonders. I'm sure you can pick one up at WalMart.

Edit: I forgot to touch on the single-player mode. It's really great, because it eases you in real nice. You start on the dam level, and get used to how things are done. Then, the difficulty ups and you go to oh.. I forget the name. (Facility?) It's got all sorts of rooms, and sort of resembles a hospital. I believe it has a boiler room too. Well anyway, it's harder. The story is pretty solid, and can keep me entertained for a while. I like that one level on the boat. I remember having two uzis and just blowing the shit out of everyone who got in my way. Fun, fun times.

I love Halo and by no means to I think it is an overrated piece of shit as some have stated it, but it doesn't win here. Goldeneye 007 is the best FPS shooter game that I've ever played, no question. Despite it being on a system like the N64 whose graphics don't compare to the 360, I would still much rather play Goldeneye than Halo today.
